He reminded me of Ubani of last 2 sets, Akinkummi Amoo's set. The guy has good shot power, but lack accuracy. Michael is all rounder. He is not all about shooting, his techniques when taking those free kicks need to be commended. He will be vital to their success at nations cup. Because most of the tight matches will be decided by one moment of brilliance. And he can provide that with his fantastic set pieces and delicious crosses to the box.

the guy is good. He could have sneak in one fk in the first half of not for the height of our opponent.

Burkina babes really used their heights and physicality well today, their heights helped them in defending high crosses, at the same time helped them win more aerial duels in our half. Quattara no 7 and their striker no 9 caused a lot of trouble with their heights, always winning first ball over our defenders.

concerning the reference to Sao Tome been reinstated to group state after been disqualified earlier on

with FIBA replacing us with Mali is a difference

1 > We're the one who pulled out (Ban ) ourselves from the world cup, that why FIBA have to replace us with Mali

2 > Sao Tome was Disqualified in the first place due to the complain lay by Mauritius ( COVID test results stuff...) so Sao tome appeal the Decision and won, so they reinstated them back to our Group

the summary b say

na we Pull out of the FIBA by ourselves, so Fiba con replace us with another team (MALI) , that means to say we cannot participate again, maybe next edition
What if we reach out to Mali to allow us retake the spot?

Let's face it, Mali shouldn't mind giving us back the spot since they are very much likely go to disgrace themselves there... At least we beat France grin

Like Flying Eagles, Like Golden Eaglets...

In other news, really looking forward to the new cadet stars that will show their stuff starting from this weekend in Ghana at the Wafu B Afcon U17 Qualifier tournament.

Some lads to look out for according to various live camp reports and close scouting observations:

GKs:

Pascal Uzoho, Richard Odoh (Team's #1)

Odoh is said to be quite good at almost everything between the sticks at this level. Hopefully he lives up to the hypes.

Defence:

Emmanuel Michael (left sided attacking Midfielder converted to LB)

Jeremiah Olaleke - Fullback and Center back potential.

Yahaya Lawal - Fullback potential.

Midfield:

Ebube Okere (Midfield's trojan. Ball winning MF)

Ozor Okeke (technically gifted MF. Said to possess a high football IQ in the middle game. Time will tell)

Attack:

Kevwe Iyede (one report likens him to another rising Osimhen).

Precious Williams - Team Captain and Goals Lord of the team. Highly rated by the coaches.

Abubakar Abdullahi - Sweet left foot. Good build. Tall, strong physically.

Jubril Azeez - In the words of a close observer, he could be the team's joker. Also left footed.

Really hope the team live up to the hypes from close observers of the Ugbade-assembled Team.

Wishing the team all the best. cool
Good to see they indeed lived up to the hypes judging by my pre tournament brief on the team's talents to watch and it's even more exciting to see even names like Basil Mbata, Raphael Oyebanjo, Miracle Ogwor, and Light Eke who weren't mentioned in this pre-tournament "ones to watch" emerge as top lads alongside the "mentioned".

Another Generation of Mentality Monsters is born.

Excited at the talents Ugbade have found across all departments in the team. More work needs be done to get them even more perfected ahead of Algeria 2023. It can only get better from here.

I think Emmanuel Michael has 2 assists. The second goal yesterday should be counted as assist for him since he took the freekick. Right?
