Two debutants
Uchenna Kanu & Christy Ucheibe are both excited to be taking part in their first Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

They have been at a steady decline. Both their male and female teams. Very soon, they will be in same level like south africa. Talents are there but corruption wouldn't allow the coaches select qualified players. The earlier african teams do away with all these age falsifications, the better for us.

I'm glad naija have dropped this idea of parading overaged players. We have been benefitting from it lately. And we hope to get 4-6 new players from the women U-17 and U-20 world cup.

even if it gets leak, they wouldn't do anything with it. unless BB want to pack the bus and defend through-out the match.

solonnachi:

I hope this formation does not leak out to the South African press or national team. That's what affected SE world cup aspiration. We should be able to manage info well
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by labas370(f): 3:20pm On Jul 04, 2022
that will be one of his mistakes to start her against BB. Those girls will hustle and muscle the ball out from her constantly like we saw during Aisha Cup. We need midfielder that are mobile, agile and fast. Burundi and Botswana game might fit her but this BB will be disastrous for her based on my personal view. She is old and doesn't possess that 2nd energy she used to have.

Our DM for this game should be either of Ayinde, Otu or Ucheibe and not her.

Deltamani:

This was my own pick though… We still don’t know which of them Coach Randy will go with though but the ones have picked above is good enough to do the job…

Randy may surprise us by playing Chikwelu and Otu ahead of Ucheibe and Ayinde

I don't even want her to play any part in today's game.

Botswana and Burundi are there for her to play.

Deltamani:

I wish he would seat out Chikwelu and again if he’s to play Chikwelu, Ucheibe or Otu will have to be around her to cover the space that would be left behind..

This Morocco sef are over asabi sabi. They have already qualified for the U17 FIFA world cup. They should have just allowed the sleeping dog lie.

Hmmm... I hope they don't probe our girls too
no mind them...I'm sure there will be 2 or 3 overage players in their squad too but it will be unnoticeable

Even if she’s to play against Botswana and Burundi it should be in the late second half because we need good number of goals from Asisat and Onumonu, the golden boot and Best player of the tournament is ours to claim..

Randy's starting 11 is very boring and the midfield will be terribly exposed with Chikwelu. Except Ajibade drops to play as a 10, we may be chasing shadows while SA run rings round our midfield with speed.

Team list out.

It's Ajibade, Chikwelu, and Ayinde in Midfield.

Based on the practice match, he'll likely go with Chikwelu. She was a part of Asisat teams and that team had all the regular starters. So I'm guessing he'll just go with her.

I knew Chikwelu was starting when I saw her feature in the practice match. Ok confident that we'll win this game, but beyond winning, I want to see a Super Falcon's team that plays very well. Not very confident we can achieve that with Chikwelu.

Maybe she's been selected based on experience..
I hope Ayinde is back to her full form... Her energy in midfield will make up for Chikwelu lack of pace and give Ajibade more freedom to roam up front..

3-5-2
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by labas370(f): 5:27pm On Jul 04, 2022
Actually, there's nothing to prove. We know her qualities. We are not saying that she is bad. nope.. only concerned of her slow pace due to old age. BB are currently benching their captain for this match because, she was exposed last time they won us to be very slow. They are using agile players for us.

Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 5:27pm On Jul 04, 2022
Looks more like a 3-5-2, with Alozie and Payne being the wingbacks.
My concern is the lack of pace in the center, with Chikwelu and Ayinde not being pacy - especially Chikwelu.
Only change I would make is Ucheibe for Chikwelu, which may happen in the 2nd half.
Altogether, not a bad lineup.

5-3-2?
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by labas370(f): 5:28pm On Jul 04, 2022
5-3-2.. that's this coach preferred formation... which changes to that 3-5-2 when attacking.

3-5-2 i mean, he selected the 11 based on experience

The lack of pace is very concerning...It's always embarrassing seeing SA overrun our midfield.. But it seems like they are playing 4-4-2.. So maybe that gives us an extra man advantage
