What exactly is your problem? Children can't have innocent fun again? Must you moan about everything? Killjoy!

Anything to exploit the parents. Most of these school owners are clueless about how a school should be run

I will just give my child that day to stay at home and rest. I cannot allow my child to wear what he/she wears to bed to go to school. Arrant nonsense. undecided is this now part of a school's curriculum for the session?

..to teach a child on sleeping and on what a child should wear to sleep it's the responsibility of the parents... school is to impact knowledge on a student.or kids....95% of training and discipling of a child and the morals , good character of a child should come from the parents..it's the parents responsibility
On the contrary, it's both the school and parents responsibility.

For nursery kids, they do social habits and morals as subjects. How best do you teach a child as little as 3 hygiene if not by practical. A child who is participate in Pyjamas day for example knows that he or she changes to another cloth for bed, knows how to lay his or her bed and care for his or her properties

Aside that,do parents have time for their children these days?

Nothing here. Just trying to bring your kids into the 21st century.

The fact you see it as a problem shows where the real problem is. A total disrespect for intellectual diversity.

Nonsensical nonsense

The PJ and duvet day won't be complete until they come along with their mattresses.

We like to copy nonsense, there are so many educative and fun-filled activities to be introduced in school.

I honestly don't see the fun in wearing nightgowns to a day school

By teaching them to wear nightgowns during the day, huh?

This can be easily be taught in class and by parents

Moreover, there are so many educative and fun filled activities that can be introduced into the school curriculum and this one is certainly not one of them.

They should've equally asked them to come along with their mattresses

Nothing wrong with this, it is a practical way of teaching kids norms and ethics, the school is trying to teach on sleeping and wares to the kids.

Sad. Self hatred has eaten deep into the citizens. I don't stay in the country, but I've heard some Nigerians who recently moved to where I am telling people of other nationalities how the country is the worst place in the world. Even when a foreigner tries to appreciate anything Nigerian, Nigerians would quickly remind them that those things aren't worth the appreciation. And guess what, many of these so-called foreigners are from Caribbean countries.
I tend to dissociate myself with people of such low self-worth. It's just plain foolish for anyone to proudly wash his/her dirty linen in public. What's their end game actually, is it that they want outsiders 2 be scared of, and criminalize us? No country is perfect, and there are countries far worse than Naija. It's just too stupid for someone to make a situation that's bad enough already worse.

I am a Nigerian but, anytime I am out of Nigeria I do package my country reputation beyond any limit, even though within my heart is hurt but that gives me respect wherever I am .

What's the problem exactly? This isn't a Buhari or Nigerian thing. Many schools abroad incorporate such fun activities into nursery education a lot. Anything that makes the idea of schooling fun, safe and healthy is OK. A day set out to play seems fun. I'm sure most people would find it cool if it were a US school doing this. The other day, we read about a Chinese school that has adjustable chairs so that pupils can sleep, and front page people were calling out Nigeria for creating "work-only" environment for our kids. Now a Nigerian school is doing something fun, and people are calling them out for not knowing what proper education should be like. Nigerians just hate anything Nigerian.
I went to a very liberal secondary school. We could wear any type of shoe we wanted and have almost any type of haircut.

As much as I support a relaxation of rules, we have to be mindful of abuse. Females may decide to wear some very flirty nightgowns which can lead to unwanted consequences.

We even had an out-of-uniform day.

... that is the problem ..many parents run away from taking responsibilities of training their children and kids and leave it for the school and teachers to do the training and upbringing.... that is why we have a lot of spoilt children and kids nowadays.. .and that is why some male teachers take advantage of having sex with the female students and female teenagers... because of leaving it for the teacher to fully train your child on.morals and the bad teacher takes undue advantage of sleeping with the female student and teenage...if the parents discipline and train their children and also teach them on sex education....on how to avoid a man that wants to have sex with you.. that is the female student and teenagers ..all this teachers sleeping with female student will not happen.and many children will have good characteers...there is time for everything.. so.parents not having time is not an excuse..the Bible said train your child in the way it should be and he will not depart from it..you spare the rod you spoil the child..so the Bible is referring to the parents

As long as they don't add it to school fees bill no wahalla.Because these schools are now experts in OBT(obtaining by trick)from we parents.

I've entertained black Americans who do the same. They tell me America is bad, racism every where, hatred, gun shots, nd i shouldn't bother coming...

All I did was ask how is America?
Of course, everyone has grudges against thier government. The problem is when you believe that everything from your country is inferior to others, even non man-made things like lizards. Even that your American friend is not likely to tell you thier stuff are inferior especially when they clearly aren't. They only complain because they should be better off and that's valid. It's totally different from the case I pointed out up there. A couple of days ago, a thread appeared on the front page where the OP was trashtalking Nigerian lizards insisting Caribbean lizards are better. Lizards! Lmao.

We may not have everything but we have a rich culture. Our food and lifestyle aren't necessarily inferior. This idea of having a fun day in school would be praised by this same OP if the school was in Sweden or Scotland (just like they praised the Chinese school yesterday). But since it's a Nigerian school, it should be criticized. For such people, it's not really about the concept in question but about the belief that if it's Nigerian, it ain't good enough. That is what I'm talking about.

This is even a nursery school and it was just a day set aside for fun. I really don't see the issue.

If it's a nursery school, it no big deal at all. I thought it was a secondary school.

People are just making a mountain out of a molehill.
