Hello Everyone,

Anyone going to Georgian college (ILAC), Toronto for Fall 2022?

If yes, you can reply to this or send a mail let’s link up.

Also is there a WhatsApp group for Georgian College (ILAC) students?

It is better for you to book a flight with your destination to New Brunswick. Don't think of using local flights from Toronto, Montreal or wherever, it is quite expensive. You will be shocked to pay about 1000 cad for flight and still pay for your bags seperately.
Damn!! I would have to find a flight to Fredericton or Moncton and then Bus it all the way to st John. Still these prices I'm seeing are diabolical. I kept a watch last night but still didn't see any magical cheap flight

Hi All, Please I need help if anyone has had similar situation or is familiar.

I arrived in Canada as a visitor Feb 2022 so I have a visitor visa stamp. I applied for Study permit (undergraduate) when inside canada and got approved. I sent my passport to visa office in canada and I got a study permit Stamp now.

I'm a little confused since I didn't get a POE port of entry letter with it does this mean I don't have to return to Nigeria and enter canada again?
I also have no information letter on next steps, and if I'm allowed to work out of campus for 20 hours.

This is my first time and I have never gone through this process and getting IRCC on phone is impossible. Anyone with vital information please help..
Thank you.

What you need is a gift of deed for the 5m, your lawyer should probably help you out with that.

Okay thank you. My father sent it to my account directly. So if I go to lawyer, he will help me provide the gift of deed?

Also, do I need to write letter of financial explanation of 51m account. I’ve been working for 3 years now.

Thank You

They could not have given you an entry letter if you did not arrive from outside the borders, your best bet is to find a way to contact them directly or through your riding MP or your school's international office.

All the best

Booked a flight to Saint John NB. Transit through Frankfurt to Montreal then Saint John. It can be expensive based on the day you plan to travel.

Yes,he should...Depends on the lawyer tho.
Just briefly explain why your dad decided to send the 5m to your account despite you having a good bank statement.
The only time you can write a financial letter is if aside the 5m your dad sent there are still other unexplained lumpsum in your account.
*Note: Lumpsum is the unusual money entering your bank statement aside from the regular ones that has been entering.e.g if your monthly salary is 1m and 10m enters the account in that same month questions would be asked about the source of the fund.

I stand to be corrected but I think you can resend your emedical sheet via webform, or just wait till it's updated on your portal.

This simply means you have explained your purpose for studying in Canada well.
Then they noticed you used a third party sponsor... I don't think they complained about the funds, their main concern is aside the money where would other funds be coming in from, so what I think you should do is if the person is a business man you should attach his CAC documents and possibly receipts issued to his clients by him or if he is a salary earner he should attach letter of employment, payslips etc.
Then they noticed that your bank statement wasn't sufficient enough, with their statement it shows you're not a dependent and they want to you to show that without your sponsor you can be financially stable, so you should also attach your letter of employment or payslip if you have any and I think you are good to go.....And also they didn't state that they did not believe your sponsor would provide your funding which means you prooved your relationship well.

488 CRS score! Are you serious? Please jump into the pool as you will most possibly be nominated in the next draws. Start gathering your documents and get prepared. This is exactly what I'm saying, a lot of persons on this platform qualifies to become a permanent resident of Canada without knowing. Please don't miss out this opportunity, its a very straightforward process. You can be pursuing both immigration programs (study permit & Express Entry) which ever that clicks, you move with it.

Hello

Please did any one go through this OTP wahala on the TRMS portal

My dad just confirmed that the email (Yahoo mail) he used to enroll for his BVN is correct

But still OTP is not entering
He needs to visit his bank to confirm if they have the correct email on the BVN portal. Or just tell him to fill email update form and submit. After a day or two it will be updated.

Thank you very much sir. It will indeed end in praise.

Please I have a question. Would the primary applicant and dependent be required to evaluate their certificate or just the primary applicant?

Thanks

It's advisable that both couples evaluate their credentials and sit for the IELTS inorder to improve their CRS score and be in a position to receive ITA.

Good day,

This thread would have been so helpful if I had come across it a little earlier, but I'm still optimistic that all will pan out for good. I'm using an agent.
My questions are as follows:

1) is it possible to submit an application before biometrics (according to my agent), my application was submitted on March 19th, but I only just just my biometrics request letter on June, 30th?
2) is submitting just my sponsor's bank statements, notarized sponsor's letter and reference letter from his bank enough to cover for proof of funds. My brother who doubles as my sponsor has way over 100M in the said account?
3) I'm a federal civil servant, but she (the agent) didn't ask for any documents in that regards, I was expecting that she would request for my leave of absence letter, payslips, and letter of appointment. She never did and she kept telling not to bother about b those.
4) other documents she submitted on my behalf are: family pictures, academic certificates, birth certificate (my family and I), assets documents (used my husband's), children's, LOE, CV, admission letter, deferral payments receipt, parents assets documents, that's all I can remember for now, stamped pages of my old passport
5) upfront medical was done on 26th, April
6) biometrics done on 4th July, 2022.

Do you think all these are enough to get the study visa? Kindly be respond soon as my heart is racing. Thanks

To be able to understand your situation better, you need to give more information such as;
How long will the program last ?
Are you studying a language course e.g English or french as a prerequisite to enter a full time program?
Are u an exchange student?
With this information you will surely get an answer on this platform.

The guru in the house, please help a sister o, my application got refused on May 30 and my gcms is out. Was denied based on financial and personal asset, also home tie.
I used a third party sponsorship who is in Canada ( my Aunty)
For the home tie my family is not going with me,and it was stated in my leave letter that i am coming back. what again can i use.

I regret to hear about the refusal of your study permit. The responsible immigration officer is not satisfied about the plausibility of your sponsor to finance your studies in Canada. As a result of this, this further raises concerns with respect to your personal financial establishment in your home country. Notably, being sponsored by a third party who is resident in Canada also weakens your ties back home. My professional advice would be for you to be self-sponsored or better off get a sponsor that is closely related to you to be your guarantor.

Hello beautiful people. Can I get Post Graduate Work Permit with a 1year PGD course?

And how easy is it to change my course on getting to Canada?

Thank you.

You can certainly be granted a 1year PGWP should you have completed a one year course in a DLI in Canada.

Changing of courses or DLI can be done outside and within Canada. All you need is provide proof of enrolment in the new or current DLI you're transferring to, proof of tuition payment and acceptance letter. Log into your MyCIC account and initiate the transfer of courses or to another DLI.

Hi guys, which Canadian bank account can I open from Nigeria as an international student applying for study visa and deposit my money into?

This is not relevant and personally, I wouldn't advice you to open a Canadian bank account and transfer funds just to prove to an officer that you're capable of funding your studies in Canada. You can have your funds in your Naira bank account or domiciliary account in Nigeria and be successful with your application.

My application was handled by Mr Frank of F and R Global. When I wanted to start this process, I planned to use an agent from the get go because i wanted a smooth and successful application. My partner kept insisting on mr Frank, that she has read so many reviews on Nairaland and he’s the one she’ll work with.
So we contacted him and right from the first call until the final approval, I felt at ease. It was a smooth transition and as soon as all my docs he asked for were ready, he submitted immediately and did a few check-in with my partner (I have a tight schedule, so she was basically the point of contact).
There were some things we didn’t consider at first which I’m certain added to the successful approval of my study permit, Mr Frank brought a professional insight into this process.
Even after the approval, he has checked in to guide us on the appropriate steps to ensure my passport is stamped and my migration to Canada is smooth.
I highly recommend him, the whole process was a smooth one and approval was faster than expected.

Thank you @frankrobbn1 of F and R Global

Congratulations! Mine is next in Jesus name. Amen
