Hunchogee:. Oh you're welcome, I don't work in a construction company, but thats the standard, it is known worldwide, in respect to road, where a car or trucks runs, is a lane, a lane of it own, also when one side of the road accommodates two cars, going the same direction that's two lanes, where one car can over take each other comfortably. In U.S we have 10, 12 lanes, that is 5 or 6 cars running on each side of the road moving opposite each other without obstructions except traffic. In the case of this road 4cars runs on their lanes, while the other 4cars runs opposite direction on the same road, making 8lanes, 8 cars in total plying the road. It's just common sense. Alternatively, the last lane on each side of the road maybe a service lane, that is, those driving to access residential area, shops, offices along the road, while the middle lanes will definitely be a FREE WAY for those trying to avoid traffic, reducing travel time to access other part of the city. I know not everyone will understand what you're trying to post via the picture of the road, that's why we need to explain so that they understand. |

Ebubu3:. Not a threat, but stay on the topic. I'm Not a fan of tribal/ethnic sentiment, it's not good every topic here on Nairaland Forum, a user will just pop up to post comments to demonized other tribe/ethnic groups here on NL, it doesn't make sense. |

OriOko88:. Don't put the cart before the horse, by demolishing people's houses, just because you want to build a road, do you know how much your state govt gonna pay for compensations (Scarce resources) just to build a kilometer of road in a densely populated areas? Advice your Governor to start building massive roads, super highways now on virgin Lands, now that a dollar is ₦610, otherwise your Governor will struggle to build a KM of road with paucity of state funds when dollar gets higher, thereby plunging your State into unnecessary huge debt. Remember, a stitch in time saves nine Think logically, Akwa Ibom State builds roads for the future use, then those state-of-the-art houses, high-rise buildings with modern roofs will starts springing up later, thereby giving Uyo City a beautiful skyline. Uyo no be Ibadan, Uyo emerged as Nigeria's 21st State capital city, I usually describe Uyo City as a 21st Century City, the best City Masterplan designed by a renowned Architect par excellence, Arc. Victor Attah in 1987 who later became democratically elected Governor of the State (1999-2007) |

GboyegaD:Airport is very important. You need to put blame on Fulani Ranka Dedeh Governement for not doing roads. The state with meager resources are doing all they can, especially Akwa Ibom. Uzor Kalu, with all the gra gra for Enyimba they dont even have a suitable stadium to play in till date, but Akwa Ibom does. Enugu airport that is older than Kano airport, still cant be used internationally, meanwhile Baylesa Airport is even better than it. |
