It's a small toilet for the use of both shop owners and their customers as they trade. We don't want anyone slipping into the compound on the excuse of looking for where to ease themselves.

Yes, but it usually gives some problems. Wooden counter tops suffer from the effects of water spillage from foods, drinks and dishes, and from splashes from the kitchen sink. Overtime, the wood will.statt to decay and fail at some points.

I note that you mentioned if the wood is tiled at the top, this will prolong the life of the wooden counter top, but concrete still beats it. This is not to say I haven't constructed wooden counter tops. And I have had instances where I even assembled imported wooden kitchen cabinets before.
