The below is from the Chairman of the Christian Association from his state. A man who knows him better than anyone else. The man who know shettima more than any Christian. The Christian most closest to him. No more politics of division in our country. The Chairman of Borno State, Christians Association (CAN), Bishop Mohammed Naga [has commended the selection of former governor of the state, Senator Kashim Shettima as the Vice Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming 2023 Election.... Naga, who described Shettima as a compassionate leader, said: “My brothers, those who are not from Borno State may not know, but you and I know better. In the history of Borno State, there is no Governor that has been fair to the Christian Community in this State as much as Governor Kashim Shettima. I am saying this in the presence of God Almighty and this is nothing but the truth. Governor Shettima, in the history of Borno, is the only Governor that has sponsored highest number of Christian Pilgrims every year since 2011. “I am speaking boldly without fear or favour because as CAN Chairman I do not receive salary or kobo from Government or any institution, but the facts need to be told. This Governor has shown compassion to the Christian Community.” He added that: “For example, when Gwoza people were driven from their ancestral homes, they fled to Maiduguri, and the Governor personally came to CAN Centre in Jerusalem ward two times in June and July 2014. He gave N10 million for their upkeep at first instance, but the victims were not many. By the end of October 2014, the IDPs from Gwoza increased to 42,000 in that camp alone. Governor Shettima came again and gave another N10 million. He also gave additional N5 million for Christians from Borno who fled to Cameroon to be returned home. “He gave another N5 million for non-indigenes who fled to Cameroon to come back to Nigeria.” The clergyman said: “Sincerely speaking as a Christian and a preacher, absolutely I have nothing to fear about Asiwaju’s picking a Muslim as his running mate, because he’s not a religious bigot and I’m happy he has made his mind known to the public in the person of his preferred running mate. No more politics of division in our country. Our Darling Nation must be great again in our lifetime. When JAGABAN nominated and presented our STARBOY as Vice president 7 years ago, we wondered what the children of hate, frustrations and perdition were saying then. Hypocritical things everywhere. Y'all said more than this when our Darling Daddy became president, that he is going to jihadised Nigeria and here we still arw worshipping our Darling Jesus Christ in Spirit and in truth. Shame to anyone using religion to divide our darling nation. God bless Nigeria.
I am always with you but iam against you on this one. Tinubu has already divided this country along religion line. How will you feel if someone tell you that you are incompetent? Tinubu has decided to remind the whole Christians of this country how incompetent and inconsequential they are. Tinubu is a master divider. Even if he win the election he will find it difficult to govern the country because of the hate he has shown to Christians. |

Inasmuch as I understand the reasons for the objection to a Muslim-Muslim ticket, let's ask ourselves if: a. Christians would also object to a Christian-Christian ticket b. the country got better under the various mixed tickets we've had so far? |
| Re: You Should Be Ready To Live With The Consequences Of Muslim-Muslim Ticket - CAN by Nobody: 6:02pm On Jul 11, 2022 |
EngrKemp:Wisdom! Wisdom!! Wisdom!!! Your co-travellers are confused. If the Ticket is Christian Christian, do you think the Muslims will be frustrated and intimidated as you are? No. They will keep quiet and vote another candidate. The truth is that you are confused, frustrated and intimidated. Church or those that are Called don't make noise. My plea is that Tinubu should not be assassinated. They are confused. In the midst of the confusion our spiritual eyes must be opened widely. I have a message for Tinubu and the security apparatus surrounding him. TINUBU should be protected against ASSASINATION in a South West State. The perpetrators are not from South West, but South West will be their target place of action. As a result of this spiritual insight, they may want to change their action plan to North West. The bitterness and frustration are so much. If Muslim Muslim Ticket is advantageous to Tinubu opponents, then there should be no reaction. For Estimated 13,000 people to sign a petition against an individual over comments he made against an individual shows the level of frustration and bitterness in place. |

CAN should shut up. What is their benefits? I'm a Christian and I have never seen anything reasonable from them. They gather under an umbrella for their own benefits. The same applies to the muslim leaders association. Nigeria needs good leader, irrespective of tribe and religion. I can't really see anyone that can positively further Nigeria among those three leading aspirants. However, CAN is only trying to be relevant in the scheme of things. You can't tell me who I will vote for. |

An average Kanuri man is a terrorist or terrorist sympathizer! I pity Christians that a saying they a voting for competence. Who told you that one religion has competen people more than the other. Now all sectors in Nigeria are headed by one religion, we are buying gas 900 per kg, diesel 900 per litre, kerosene 1000 per litre, fuel 250 per litre, prices of food stuff has skyrocketed, electricity bill is something else without the light, corruption is at it Zenith. We need to wise up! |

This is where is where his party who are mainly Muslims will come in. That's what we should understand. By then the status quo continues. There won't be any balance |
