BlackManta: Stop this blasphemy. Dr strange has better characters. Apart from the main character in Shang chi and his dad, which other character is memorable? Dr Strange MOM had Wong (who had a cameo in Shang Chi), America Chavez and Wanda. Doctor Strange alone has more swag than Shang Chi. Shang Chi's villain was not exactly a threat. A father would hesitate to kill his son. Wanda was ready to destroy anyone in the multiverse to get her children. Better pacing? lol. Shang Chi went from a Chinese history documentary to martial arts to Chinese fantasy movie. Dr Stange MOM was a consistently quirky comedy-horror with action. The Shang Chi movie is a plot hole itself. Why would a guardian of a gate that holds evil that can destroy the world leave the keys to the gate with her two small children? What about the father? He could have easily taken the pendant from them when they were younger. Doctor Strange MOM is a beautiful film. The graphics and effects showing the multiverse are out of this world. The concept alone is crazy- multiverses, dream-walking, alternate people (doppelgangers) etc My nigga, your comment is thrash. It is blasphemous to the gods of cinema. In the finale, she made peace with the fact that her kids and vision are not real. She said goodbye to her boys and vision as he disappeared forever. Fast-forward to MoM and we see Wanda trying to reunite with her children. Don't forget she said goodbye to those kids in WandaVision...... She moved on from her kids, Vision and that fantasy world. MoM did a complete 360 on Wanda and she went as far as murdering dozens of innocent people....Why? Whatever happened to her to turn into a twisted fvck we will never know. Do you know that in WandaVision, she didn't take the life of an innocent person. Not one. She did hurt people but she was never a cold hearted murderer. MoM absolutely undermined WandaVision. The writer of MoM even admitted that he didn't watch the show complete Before you start using Darkhold as excuse, imagine blaming six bottles of Heineken for a car crash instead of the drunk driver who drank them willingly. Now let's talk about Doctor Strange... He was a poor character for majority of this movie. Man was running around like a chicken. Little and inexpirienced Chavez actually fought Wanda better than Doctor Strange. The Doctor Strange in this movie is a far cry from the man that stood up to Thanos and fought him without using the time stone. The Doctor Strange in this movie is a far cry from the man that stopped Dormamu without throwing a punch. Doctor Strange fell off completely in the MCU. No wonder Spiderman nerfed him in the mirror dimension, on his own turf. The only reseaonable thing he did in MoM was killing the one eyed monster and the dreamwalk on the dead body and holding his own against those demons. Apart from that, he was very much a pvssy in this movie. What about illuminati... That team was a complete mess. Reed Richard is the dumbest man in the world for leaking Black Bolt super power to Wanda. Captain Marvel, one of the most powerful heroes in MCU, was killed by a statue....unbelievable. Captain Carter belongs in the kitchen. Mordo is a coward. Professor Xavier is a complete waste in this movie. The most powerful telepath in all of Marvel Universe, second only to Jean Grey. But the useless old man was wasted in 20 seconds. Please tell me what was the point of illuminati in this movie apart from action spectacle and gbish gbish. Let's talk about America Chavez. Discovered her powers at a very young age. Years have passed and she still couldn't control her powers until she received a pep talk from Doctor Strange. Imagine the nonsense, it looks like something out of a CW show. Of all the characters in MoM only Doctor's girlfriend impressed me a little. Shang Chi's villain was not exactly a threat. A father would hesitate to kill his son. Wanda was ready to destroy anyone in the multiverse to get her children. I didn't know that threat is what makes a villain great. Na today I learn that one. Doomsday was a far bigger threat in BVS than Zod in MOS. But when it comes to being a great villain, no comic book fan will pick Doomsday over Zod. It's not about threat. Your villain has to be well written. Wanda was willing to kill everyone except Doctor Strange. Anytime she had him in her grasp, all she did was toss him aside so he can keep fighting to stop her. If she was serious about her goals and willing to kill anyone who stands in her way, then Doctor Strange would have died in the first act or the second one. If you are writing your villain to be a murderer who would kill dozens of people to reach her goals, you better keep her that way. Not switching her off anytime you want. Better pacing? lol. Shang Chi did all that with better pacing. Everything was not jam packed under 2 hours, at times they let the story breathe and made out time to flesh out the characters more. MoM is a horror film that was rushed under 2 hours. This movie could have used an extra 20 minutes to pace it better and give the story some room to breathe. The Shang Chi movie is a plot hole itself. Why would a guardian of a gate that holds evil that can destroy the world leave the keys to the gate with her two small children? What about the father? He could have easily taken the pendant from them when they were younger. Is this the only plot hole you found in Shang Chi? Lol That should tell you it has better writing than MoM. For every single plot hole in Shang chi, I can point out 6 more in MoM. Shang Chi tried but MoM was a mess. Doctor Strange MOM is a beautiful film. Jurassic World Dominion: Interesting, less blood and gore than the others in the franchise. Many eye balls rolling moments, too numerous to count, as a matter of fact. Verdict: Give it a rest, already. I really don't know what is left to be told. Michael Crichton will be rolling in his grave. If you want to watch, suspend criticism and just enjoy. |

Gr8lex: I know someone will say this Now explain how that post credit scene connects into MoM Because I didn't see any actual kids crying for help in this movie,....what I saw was two happy boys living their normal lives until Wanda tried to kidnap them MoM undermines WandaVision down to that post credit scene. Because whatever the writer intended to set up with that post credit scene did not happen, we saw something completely different in MoM. BlackManta: The fact that you don't even use their character names shows how forgettable the characters are. Ogbeni, you just want to argue. Doctor strange MOM is not perfect but it is far better than Shang Chi You have watched too many YouTube complainers and have formed opinions based on their influence. I say this because you are repeating their talking points; - "Marvel phase 4 is weak" - "Wandavision betrays doctor strange" - "Wanda character assassination". If Doctor strange MOM was released before Avengers, everyone would be giving high praises to the movie. The issue here is that the Avengers movies were the highest of marvel standards and so, everything pales in comparison. As for Wanda in Wandavision. You can see that Wanda is already mad. Someone that possessed a whole town and would have let the people die in an illusion, if not for outside interference. How is it character assassination when Wanda is already mad before the dark hold? The dark hold corrupts. It corrupted a version of Doctor strange. JackBizzle: LOL, practically all of what you've said here is debatable. Before I analyze your assertions, let me just state that Shang Chi is a better story than Dr. Strange 2. There isn't a single spot where Dr Strange 2 excels, if we were to aggregate critiques from the wider population across all platforms on the internet. The fact that Dr. Strange made more money than Shang Chi is the only thing that makes it a nominee.Potential Spoilers Ahead. 1. The graphical prowess of Dr. Strange 2 was just OK. The aesthetics are indicative of Marvel movies. The entirety of what the flick gave us had previously been set up by earlier films. I concur with you that the movie's characters are better, for this reason. The number of multiverse realms actually utilized in the film was quite limited (only four) but Shang Chi featured actual dragons and the MCU's first-ever exposition of Chinese culture. 2. Your assessment of Shang Chi's storyline development surprised me. The action didn't suddenly shift from a thousand years ago to the 21st century. His mother was only telling her version of history. Furthermore, it is only reasonable that the antagonist should be introduced and established in the audience's minds effectively through a plot. How often have we grumbled that fictional antagonists act sinisterly merely for the purpose of doing so? It was well worth the few minutes it took to give us some context on Wenwu. Now that that is out of the way, Shang Chi actually had a pace that was quite convincing. 3. Wanda isn't any worse of a bad guy than Shang Chi's father. Both of them had intrusive thoughts. But let's contrast the two illusions: I. Wanda's children were created as a result of her reality-warping talents, and even though she was aware that they weren't real, she killed people anyway because she was playing crap. While Wenwu was on a mission to save his wife. II. Wenwu heard his wife pleading for freedom. Wanda wanted to go to that universe, kill the mother there, and kidnap her children even though she saw those kids getting along fine. Wenwu is attempting to save his wife in this instance as opposed to Wanda seeking to take possession of something that is obviously not hers. 4. Dr. Strange 2 did not even come close to meeting peoples' expectations, whereas Shang Chi did and even exceeded them. Dr. Strange 2 had a great deal of potential and initiated plot lines that would have served as the foundation for other mind-blowing projects, but it failed due to its poor storyline. In the end, all it had were a few moments that were exploited to entice comic book aficionados to the movies. 5. You also mentioned that Shang Chi's father posed no significant danger. However, let me remind you that sending Dr. Strange and Dr. Palmer to a different universe was the worst thing Wanda could do following the strain of trailing them across two universes that they made her endure. While Shang Chi's father murdered his son when the latter claimed his wife wouldn't want to be with a monster. Nevertheless, the white dragon later brought Shang Chi back to consciousness. 6. What is more ludicrous, I'm not sure. Is it the guy questioning the amount of continuity errors in Dr. Strange 2 or you trying to claim that Shang Chi has more plot holes merely because you were able to identify one? Even if I start pointing errors out one by one, this page won't be sufficient to address all that needs to be written on the topic.
