Man he's entitled to those wages. Him and the club decided to reduce the percentage he earns during Covid and the way it was structured, he was due to earn his normal pay+the offset of his salary for the last 2 seasons.

Barca wants him to leave now so he won't get the balance of those wages which he's due to get next season but Frenkie believes those deferred wages most be paid because he's worked for it. Barca is actually trying to play a fast one on the guy but the guy no wan gree until he's sure the money owed him is paid or will be paid.

Even though the club has treated him like shit, Frenkie can't hand in a transfer request because it will mean he wants to forfeit the money he's owed, that is why you keep hearing he doesn't want to leave. It's a message to Barca that he can't be pushed out like that till he's paid.

Take for instance your salary is 10naira but you and your employer came to an agreement to pay you 3 naira for a year but after which you'll be receiving the normal 10naira + the 6naira which was cut initially but now your employer wants to ship you off cos he feels paying 17naira is too much and he also doesn't want to pay up the offset money you worked for.
