The rate at which they make reference to 1978 is alarming, as if religious consciousness of that time was as high as it is today. If there was such religion tension in 1978, it would have been difficult to have Muslim-muslim ticket of 1993. Why are people trying to play on the sensibility of people? They didn't quote the latest of Muslim-muslim ticket of 1993 but they went as far as 1978 when religion tolerance was high. At least in 1993 everyone filed out to vote Muslim-muslim candidates without fear that we are nursing today.

If it was christain-christain candidates that a certain party brought out, the muslims would have done the same, probably riot would have erupted in some northern states because of that. MURIC would have even written lengthy words and told his Muslim followers not to vote for any christain-christain candidates.

The rate they are also justifying state politics with national politics baffles me. The peculiarity of each state determines distribution of political posts. In south South and South East in total, rarely can Muslim make up 2% of their population. I am talking about indigenous muslims. Nobody can say, this particular community is predominantly indigenous Muslim community of this state in south South and South East.

Same with north west that are predominantly indigenous muslims. Their own is even fairer because of the huge population of christains in the southern Kaduna, which may swells the population of christains in the north west and that is why before now the political arrangement in Kaduna state has been muslim-christain ticket until El-Rufai came and changed it to Muslim-muslim ticket. Kano, Jigawa, Zamfara, Kebbi and Katsina had always be Muslim-muslim candidates. Even Borno state that even have some LGA that are predominantly christains have not thought it wise to have christain as deputy since 1999. If Shettima was so magnanimous, he should have changed the narrative when he was governor and chose a christain to deputize him because of fairer population of christains in the state. But did he do it? Capital NO. Same with Yobe state that also have sizable christains more than the number of indigenous muslims in Anambra. Have they thought it wise to also give christain deputy governor? Capital NO also.

They are quick to refer to south South and South East but they stylishly dodge telling people that some states in the north where we have sizable number of indigenous christains have not been given chance to rule there also but their focus is south South and South East that have least indigenous Muslim population in the whole nation.

People should stop playing on the sensibility of people, state peculiarity matters and can not be equated to national politics.

Let me share some secret u may not know on why tinubu has to go for a Muslim- Muslim ticket.
