Mikechinos:Bro, I feel you TBH, but I'm working with the players we have currently on the team. I hope we get better replacements for that RB. |

Leyqute:This is the point where a positive becomes a negative. Without Ronaldo's almost pathological ego and ambition he would not have attained the GOAT contender status that he has now. But because of that same ego and ambition he has not accepted that he has to recalibrate his own expectations of his performance levels. |

kozmicity:it's not a question of twice as good or half as good. if the board had any proper planning, Shaw must be sold this year. he was signed in 2014 for £30m, a transfer record for a teen. this is 2022, how many outstanding seasons can you point out for this lad in the red shirt? his contract expires summer 2023 when he'll be 26 or 27. do you expect him to leave on a free or should the board reward his unproductive years with a new contract? |

Does Dejong current contract state that he won't be paid his outstanding wages if he leaves before a certain time? Unless that's the case, this news of Dejong wanting to leave but wants to collect his owed wages first is bullshit |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 7:52am On Jul 17, 2022 |
ChristineC:At this point the fee does not matter anymore. We keep the better player and sell the worse player. Shaw is better than Telles. And its not close. Malacia is not certain to be a hit so i would feel more confident having Malacia and Shaw than having Malacia and Telles. Telles is too slow and weak to cope with the EPL. He has shown it countless time. And this Malacia guy does not look as fast as his Youtube videos suggested. Jury is still out on him. |

afrodoc2:that will mean United offers him a contract extension on improved wages or lose him for free next summer. while I hope he's worth it, I still think both options are not good for business. I'd rather recoup some decent fee from his sale because he's been a disappointment. I think there are players already in the squad that can play makeshift at left back if Malacia proves to need some settle in period. talent has proven not to be everything in Luke Shaw's case. |

Ice cold. No Smile. Black Gloves. Came from France. No chance by the media. Defenders have families. Dripping in sauce. Sauce on Spill. Killer. Winner. Baller. AM9. The premier league ain’t ready.

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by TeslaFC: 8:11am On Jul 17, 2022 |
ChristineC:Any move he makes now would very likely not be to a big club, so chances of receiving an offer similar to United’s is substantially reduced. In this case, United holds the bargaining power, which means there’s no pressure to offer any improved wages. Also consider he’s English. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by ChristineC: 8:21am On Jul 17, 2022 |
TeslaFC:you should also consider that Shaw may decide not to sign an extension if terms are not to his liking. moving as a free man a year later will likely put more money directly in his and his agent's pocket even if he's stepping down in terms of club stature. it's also not unusual of him to have a Shawberto Carlos display in patches this season to lure a potential improved contract or deceive a new bride though ![]() |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 8:39am On Jul 17, 2022 |
ChristineC:They do not have to improve his wages. You can extend his contract cos he is not getting a better salary anywhere else. Recouping money on transfer should be secondary to keeping our better players and offloading the worse ones. Shaw is technically good enough for me to see how he will perform under ETH. There is no point recouping 20m on Shaw in order to keep a waste man like Telles in the squad. That Telles that runs like he is carrying a backpack has no use in our current system. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 8:42am On Jul 17, 2022 |
TeslaFC:I didn't even see this. You hit the nail on the head. ChristineC has a history of co-signing huge wage increases for players like the notorious Udoji Awards. ![]() We can offer him same wage contract extension and keep the competition going between him and Malacia. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 8:47am On Jul 17, 2022 |
ChristineC:If they give him improved wages that is on the mumu board not Shaw. If they have not learnt from the wages they gave Shaw, Martial, Rashford, DDG e.t.c then nobody can help them. For this first season it is important that we keep Shaw as cover in case Malacia struggles to settle in at the start. If Shaw goes and you leave Malacia and that backpacker Telles it might end in salty tears. |

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 8:51am On Jul 17, 2022 |
ChristineC:Hehehehe. It is because you were already assuming that the contract extension was going to be on improved wages while it was clear to both Tesla and i that there was no need for improved wages at all. The era of Oil Boom is over, na Austerity get am now. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by SideshowBob: 9:24am On Jul 17, 2022 |
eph12:I think they are using that as an excuse because he hasn't even shown any sign he wants to come. His actions since returning to Barcelona has been cool with them. Eth should have told the board to have also been working on backups cause this is looking embarrassing. He may still come but he will not have it easy if he flops after all this drama. |

SideshowBob:Maybe they think they're talking to kids. I haven't seen anywhere it was categorically stated that players will forfeit outstanding wages if they leave the club. They should stop throwing that as an excuse, the guy does not want to come |

ChristineC:I agree with you but I suggest we cash in on both Shaw and Telles... I am very sure Everton, Forest or Newcastle will have no problem splashing £25m on Shaw especially Everton...We can easily get £10m for Telles...With that, we can proceed to sign another experience LB in the region of £25-30m... |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 10:13am On Jul 17, 2022 |
TeslaFC:Everton pay heavy for average players, I'm sure they wouldn't mind paying in excess of £25m for Shaw... |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by KingAlabi: 10:41am On Jul 17, 2022 |
I feel that malacia might even be a backup to shaw. Shawberto Carlos might come this season but his seasonal injuries will push malacia to the light. My thoughts though. |

eph12:Eth should just give up the chase but it seems he's stubborn. Lisandro is his former player and would have played ucl football with ajax but he still came. This one is not even giving out any sign despite Arnold negotiating for him. Other midfielders are waiting. Can't go into this season with McFred esp Mctomimay. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 10:55am On Jul 17, 2022 |
KingAlabi:i am not sure of Malacia defensively but because of his aggression and work rate i think at the least he will put some pressure on Shaw. But for this season i think you are right and he will start on the bench and be slowly integrated. |
