Morning gurus in the house. Please the program I want to apply for a post graduate degree is a 1 year course. Will I be able to request for a work permit or permanent resident after completion? Cause have been hearing only 2years and above are qualified for that.

Hello everyone

it is no longer news that the Police character certificate been issued by Nigerian police for study or travel permit has just been increased from the usual 5k it use to be, to 40k

Please let's join others to call for the reversal of such absurd increment via the link below. Especially in a period like this where most Nigerians are been hitted by hardship.

Thank you as you do so.

Yes you can, however, be sure to check that it's really up to a yr or more than 8 months then you will be qualified for 1 yr pgwp.

Courses above 1 yr will grant you 2-3 yrs work permit.

Based on feedback from others I've read here, it's best you mail them and send a web form as well.
If I'm not mistaken your application is over 12weeks (3 months).

Good luck

Do they use official bank rate?

Samtob4life:

Use africhange

Find someone in Canada to create an account with them and fund the ngn wallet (they'll generate naija bank account for you to deposit)

Then convert the Money (naira) to cad on the website/app

Withdraw the funds into the person's canada bank account

Then pay your school fees through the bank app

Tested and confirmed (I paid 2300cad through africhange)

Please any other means to pay for study visa application. I have tried GTB naira Master card it's not going. I don't have dollar debit card.
As it stands in Nigeria today, it's only dollar card that can work. All virtual cards and their companies are wipe out of the country.

Good morning, Nairalanders.

This is my first post here, and I just had to make it after reading other people’s comments about their study visa application. I must say this has been the most nerve wracking moment of my life. I really wish I came across this forum much earlier before I started my application.

I submitted my application 2months ago, May 20th 2022. I had my biometrics done prior because I had applied for a visitor visa before. Eligibility review started June 30th and I have been waiting for the medical request. I didn’t think I could do an upfront medical exam anymore since I had already submitted my application that was why I was waiting for IRCC to contact me. I have been freaking out lately because my school is resuming on the 8th of September 2022 (today is 19th July) and I feel I’m seriously running out of time to get this visa approved.

Anyone also facing this same situation??

Any helpful advice from the experts on here would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you so much.

Actually I have draft my sop for the same course. Can you help me review it to see if it's strong enough for my application.

Anon123:

Okay. You might have to proceed with the advanced diploma. Just work on your SOP, try to pay the first semester fees if you can and ensure you show hometies (family and business), prove relationship between yourself and sponsor.

You are good to go

I can understand your anxiety, everyone is including me and it's not your fault.

Firstly I would advise you go for your upfront medicals if you're yet to because for a permit longer than 6 months you will need it.
Waiting to get the request before you go for the test and then waiting for it to be updated on your application is another time wasting away which you can save.

Don't be hard on your self and be positive.

It will end in praises for everyone of us.

Good luck.

Don't wait for medical request, time is running out for you already. Book your medical and get it done asap. Send through webform and email to IRCC immediately and hope it gets updated within days... After that you should keep expecting PPR to drop.

If you chose to wait for medical request, you don't know when it'll drop, and if it drops, think of how long before it'll be done and get updated. Recent timelines show that people with medical request wait for more than one month after medical has been updated before PPR dropped.

They will transmit it to IRCC within 5 - 10 business days thats within a week or two, however, you can still forward the medical e-information sheet/receipt you were given after your tests as a proof to them via mail or webform.

You can mail QLife to request for your results, you don't necessarily need to go physically. IOM sent mine to me via mail.

Good luck

Good day everyone,

My school is set to resume September 6 and I've applied since may 14th and up till now still no ppr.
My question is, is it a good decision to defer my admission to January as I have not gotten my visa yet.
Please I need any advice I can get.

Did n't they give you an E medical form when you did your test?
Thats what you are supposed to upload

My opinion tho, the option to differ should be your next move within 2, max 3 weeks to your resumption date not 6 to 7 weeks before your resumption.
Remember that once you differ you will be issued another LOA which you will now need to forward to IRCC to have as an updated information.

Simply ensure you have done everything you're meant to do then send mails and webforms to them requesting for feedback and by his grace it will end in praises for you.

Hi,
Please how do I send emails to the Nairobi, Abuja and Lagos offices? Is it also through the web form? Thank you...

Nerd95:
Congratulations to everyone that has gotten their PPR. I tap into your testimony.

I applied in March, Biometrics completed in the same month.
Medical completed and reflecting on my portal on April 5th.
Eligibility review started around May ending. Since then nothing.

Send emails and raised webforms but Nairobi replied to only my first email stating that my application is under active review. Sent emails to MPs but they said they can't help because I am not in Canada. Yesterday makes it 30days since I applied for my gcms note. Still waiting for it.

School is to Resume first week of September and I am getting worried and depressed especially seeing recent applicants getting their PPRs.

Please gurus, any advice?

I'm coming to Uvic mid-August... I'm super interested. I've been looking through kijiji and Facebook market for weeks...
The funniest thing is that I've asked here and other "living in Canada thread" several times and didn't come across your post. I've sent you a mail.

Sorry for the late reply. I've received a couple of interests in the room of late, so sorting through them. The room(one of a 2 bed) is $900 per month, fully furnished and with utilities. The move in date is September 1. And a male is preferred.

Why not apply for a gcms note to know whats delaying your application as long as you know your uci and application numbers.

Application for mother and child..

Application submitted: Feb 12

Medical Request:June 14th
Medicals done: June 16th
Medicals updated:June 17th and 24th (child and mother)

Bvl/passprt request : July 18th

GOD Almighty showed me mercy,he alone deserves all the Glory..

Got admission In Feb 2021..I deferred for personal and General reasons..

Knowing my profile..i knew I needed a magic touch..been reading the thread for years until I decided to kick-start this journey..

I am full time home maker, never worked and I have a long study gap,
I knew I had work to do..
The reason some agents I met said it wasn't possible..

I was gonna opt for Journalism cos I majored in Arts/Humanities
With the advice of Justmellow and Frank I settled for a business program since we had documents to prove that...

I made my secret findings about Frank ,everyone poured accolades and talked about his expertise..

I concluded I was gonna use him..

He did magic to my application.. he told me I had nothing to worry about..my husbands profile is more than enough to get me Visa..

I didn't even submit my personal statement of account..what the VO will see is just husband ,dad and siblings sending me money..last born palaver lol...

APPLICANT'S DOCUMENTS
All Cic documents
SOP(written by Frank,I proofread to my satisfaction)
Unofficial Uni transcript
Statement of result
Business invoice
Business ID Card
Notarized Affidavit of sponsorship(written by Frank)
Marriage certificate
Change of name (newspaper pub)
Family pictures(wedding pictures,party pictures,home pictures,pictures,pictures pictures..)
Business documents (myself and spouse are directors
Bank reference letter stating myself and spouse as signatories to business account.

Lassra
Admission letter
Tuition deposit receipt
Certificate of origin
Online business course( certificate)
Birth cert
Certificate of origin
Letter from my village King(serves as volunteer letter)
Letter headed company letter stating my hubby will be in charge of the business

I requested for Gcms and saw the VO wrote (no savings,no income)tho it was "recommended passed"(I didn't like the word recommended, I wanted it to be "passed"and VO had positive things to say about sponsor..like I said I didn't submit my Statement of acct..

Even though Frank said it was nothing to worry about ,I was worried and he had no choice than to tell me to quickly submit a fixed deposit..

I submitted a fixed deposit cert via webform..medical request dropped 30 minutes after I had submitted the fixed certificate...I have no idea if it influenced it or not..Frank said it did not..I was gonna get medical request regardless...

SPONSORS DOCUMENTS(SPOUSE)

Letter of employment
Letter of resignation from former workplace.

DAUGHTERS DOCUMENTS

Intl passprt data page

God brought Frank my way,if you are in doubt use his expertise..no regrets...but you have to be patient cos clients too yapa..lol

I appreciate all Nairlanders
My friends turned sister whom I met on this group 7COLOURS...one would think we have known each other for long...

Lekiboboe and Justmellow..big ups to you, they created a smooth path for me by answering all my numerous questions in 2020 by email...they may not remember but I worry them..

All the names I remember from 2020/2021 have gotten visas and moved on to the next level...

To everyone waiting for PPR..I will continue to pray for all hopefuls..can't mention everyone but I know God will come through for everyone of you..

My story long ,if I write the whole story..this thread won't contain us...

Ps: I disturb IRCC oooooo..no control,I sent mails morning afternoon and night.I can send webform thrice a day..I was just doing anyhow..lol.surprised they didn't warn nor block me

GOD is Good...I give him all the glory..he has given me a new song to sing...

My dreams have come alive..

Glory! Glory!! Glory!!!

Feel free to ask me questions..I will respond to the best of my knowledge...

Ignore the typos ooooo

Many thanks to God Almighty it has ended in praise, go and prosper dear.

Mr Frank, I hail ooo, the Visa Officer himself lol.

Makano, Lekkiboboe, Ketima, Anon and many others doing great jobs here, God bless you all.
