To do biometrics, your kids must be at least 14 years. If you have not received your spouse's biometric letter and paid for it at the time of submission, send them a webform or email and attach proof of submission and receipt. Meanwhile, you can go for your biometrics while you await a response from IRCC.
There are several ways to book your biometrics. Please see the link below

You don’t have to use him as a sponsor, but I highly recommend you do. There’s no limit to the number of bank statements you can use, and using all 3 three, will make the financial and home tie (business account if the cashflows are good) aspect of your application strong

Hello gurus in the house,

Please I need help with my visa documentation.

I am a business owner (co-owned by my husband and I) while my hubby also has a full-time job. I have paid the full tuition for year 1 and I have an investment certificate of 5m but I want to use hubby as the sponsor(is it compulsory to use him as a sponsor?).
Please I will like to know how many statement-of-accounts I need to use (I have SOA for business, hubby and myself).

Also, I will like to know if there are other documents I need to add to the list below.

A list of documents I have now
1. Letter of acceptance
2. Tuition receipt
3. Business tax receipt
4. CAC certificate and the form used for registration
5. Upfront medical
6. Police clearance
7. Certificate of investment of 5m
8. Letter of explanation
9. Statement-of-Accounts
10. Gift deed from my dad

Thank you in anticipation

Dear Darling4real1,

The best option is for you to hide your previous MBA and apply for another MBA or masters in any management or finance related course based on your work experience.

Thank you for your response. Please won't the study gap be an issue?

Hi everyone, please this is URGENT... My kid sister arrived Canada on a student visa yesterday and the immigration officer requested to see all her documents including her tuition receipt. Unfortunately she doesn't have any as it was only her application fees that was paid. As a result of that the immigration officer didn't issue her study permit but told her to come back today..

is it compulsory to pay the full tuition before landing Canada ?

As a proof she can pay the tuition fees if my mum writes a letter of authorization and my sister login to my mum's(sponsor's) bank statement and show them the balance which is about $40000 will it be ok?

Any advice/suggestion is welcome.TIA

Good day, please house does a one year masters program gives 2 yrs PGWP ?
And if No, can I apply for a one year Masters program and after completion IMMEDIATELY apply for a Graduate certificate program in a college making a total of two years will I get 3yrs PGWP,

I’m asking this because the program I’m more interested in are concentrated program in Engineering and they are 1 yr.

Please you can also suggest a way to go about this thanks. I studied Electrical and computer Engineering and I’m interested in M.Eng telecommunication Engineering.

Not sure it works that way, you will still be eligible to only one year PGWP as they are unrelated

Why has she not paid any tuition even in part if the funds are available, this might begin to look suspicious to the VO. Also every school I know requires the payment of tuition at least in part which is usually due quite early. Some info have been left out in this explanation

Good afternoon Nairalanders.

I just got admission into an 8 months program at Seneca college in canada . (Project management:Information technology)

I’ve read that my 8 months course can only get me 8 months Post graduate work permit .

And to secure PR, I read that I need to have worked for at least 1 year full time in canada ( which I can’t because I’m only getting 8 months PGWP)

Please is there any other way I can secure PR when I get there ?
(Ps. I don’t hav extra money for studies after this program )

Please I need answers so I can decide if I’ll accept the admission or not

Yes, your intent is feasible. It's advisable to start looking for admission into the next program on or before the commencement of the first.
Cheers

Hello fams, thank you for your good work here.
On behalf of a colleague, who's a student in Canada. His wife got her SOWP when she was left with just 8 months on her passport. She intends to extend it, would she apply like a fresh application, or is there any link for this kind of extension? Any suggestion on the relevant docs she needs to submit?

An application link will be appreciated (old or new portal?).

Thank you for your suggestions.

Yes, she can extend it. The main IMM form for extension of work permit is IMM5710. Unfortunately, you can’t use the new portal for a work permit extension. Instead, use the MyCIC account.
Ensure the spouse is studying full-time; proof of full-time enrolment is required.

Hello there
8 months program is regarded as a 1 year academic program which can qualify you for a 1 year pgwp ( that is only if the institution regards it as 1 year). Other ways to get PR are using of Provincial Nominee Program ( PNP ), you can look them up on the internet and find the best which suites you.

Yes, you can only get 8 months (it could be a one-year program if there is a 4 month Holiday in-between) of PGWP if you complete an 8-month program.

For most Federal PR programs, one year of Canadian work experience is required to get sufficient points. However, there are provincial programs that favour candidates who studied or worked in that province without the need for a one-year experience.
To be on the safe side, apply for at least a one-year program. Since IRCC regulation allows a student to start working on the day they applied for PGWP, you will gain extra months, in addition to the one year by the time your PGWP application is approved. These months could give you the extra time needed to accumulate the required one year for Federal programs.
I can help you secure a similar program, even if it is one year.

Just want to know anyone who is in the same situation as me. I applied to Holland College, Prince Edward Island and was granted admission for plumbing and pipefitting.

Application for Study permit was submitted on 7th June 2022 and biometrics was completed on 16th June 2022.

Since then eligibility and background check reviews are still under processing.

School resumes on 6th September 2022.

Any hope I can get a response from IRCC before the resumption of school?

You will get a 1yr PGWP if you complete a 1yr Masters, while a 16 to 23 months Masters program will give you a 3yrs PGWP if there are no regularly scheduled breaks included in the program.

You will get 3 years of PGWP if you complete two different one-year programs within 2 years.

CBSA officers do not usually ask to see ALL the documents submitted for the study permit application. Maybe, something prompted them to do so.
If the tuition is due, she has to pay it. Otherwise, she can show them the funds and explain to the officer that she intends to pay on arrival since it is not due. You can send her copies of the documents submitted for the study permit application.

Since CBSA did not send her back to Nigeria, they are willing to give her the study permit but are unconvinced she is a bona fide student; something else may have prompted this further scrutiny.

Hello house, please I need some advice.
Wife got approved for SOWP and daughter got visitor visa. Issue is I have a little more than one month left on my study permit. My international passport expires in about one year when I got the study permit for a two year MSc programme. I have applied for extension of study permit.

Please, I want to know if wife and daughter can travel to Canada without any issue. More importantly, I want to know if I can book a one-way flight ticket.

The other question has to do with IRCC POE letter of introduction (LOI). Wife has gotten LOI from the IRCC since Thursday but our daughter is yet to receive her LOI. Please, I want to know if this is not an issue.

Application timeline;
November, 2021: Application submitted with upfront medicals for wife only as the document checklists says.
December 2021: Biometric capturing for wife only
Early June 2022: IRCC send medical requests for wife and daughter.
Late June 2022: Medicals done by gate crashing at IOM. IOM advised wife to also do new medicals because IRCC insists on it.
July, 2022; Medicals passed and passport request.
