In the first place what did Lagos need LASTMA for? Disband this useless unit they added nothing or remove nothing to the traffic woes in Lagos then why keeping them and be paying them for doing nothing than collecting bribe and killing people? 1 Like |

lonelydora: "Fulani man son, Mustaphha"! Your prejudice against all of Humanity is embedded in those words. A Fulani man's son who's not a human being? Have you allowed yourself the presence of mind to know that there could be better ways by which those LASTMA officers could have conducted themselves? Was government created for man, or man for government? Prejudice and hate kill by inches, not at once. Learn empathy and free your mind from impure thought and bias. 1 Like |

lonelydora: Fine that the LASTMA officials were doing their legal duty since we are told the victim and his son broke traffic laws but my question is why demand for a bribe and take the car away following the health condition of the victim? Why didn't the LASTMA officials give the the victim a ticket to come to their office to clear the matter or better still take note of his license plate number and report to all their various offices so that the car could be impounded should the victim fail to come to clear the matter? 1 Like |

This kind of incident happened few days ago in Jalingo with a VIO officer. The officer impounded a Keke conveying a sick girl to the hospital for violating traffic rule. He delayed them from accessing the hospital on time despite pleas and begging. He later accepted to follow them to the hospital to cease the vehicle after they deliver the sick girl and as fate will have it, the sick girl later died immediately they arrived at the hospital. He was arrested and charged to court... |

lonelydora: For the fact that the man is hypertensive and the son informed the LASTMA officials and they still heald on to his car That alone which he witnessed is enough to trigger death You don't seems to know exactly what being hypertensive is, read more about is Their crises can trigger death, straight on the spot 1 Like 2 Shares |

One of the reasons Ambode was kicked out was because he instructed lasma to focus only on traffic control, not enforcement of fines, same thing with vio told to get off the streets. Of course that affected the "revenue" generation of a certain "alfa betta" and its beneficiaries. It also affected workers of those agencies as their egunje disappeared. Frsc too. Just as the lekki tollgate protest was curbed leading to unfortunate deaths simply because a revenue stream was affected. Well, a first class citizen of the country has been affected this time so there will be federal crime for payback. 1 Like 1 Share |

lonelydora: Even thought I agree that the police were interested in the case because the victim was fulani, LASMA or any other state traffic management authority does not have the right to impound vehicles indiscriminately. They don't have the rights to even enter your car without your permission not to talk of getting into the drivers seat and driving your car to their office. 1 Like

The issue deserves appropriate responses addressing the traffic violation by the deceased son on one hand as well as the lack of empathy on the path of the LASTMA officers. As someone already pointed out in one comment above, LASTMA officers should be stopped from impounding vehicles and violators ticketed and plate numbers flagged just like it's now being adopted by VIO for road worthiness. Failure to promptly comply should attract penalties of additional fines on top of the original stipulated fine for the misdemeanor. Lagos State should stop treating traffic violation like felonious offence |

What a country! In civilized countries, all LASTMA would have done was issue a ticket. Breaking a traffic light signal will automatically generate a fine on your traffic account. No need for agberoism tactics that is meant for the stone age. |

Can't see what the LASTMA officials did wrong. Their legal department should be able to handle this without problem. The family of the deceased will have to prove the bribery allegations. |

Lastma are to ṣeé to free flow of traffic. but they have divert to arresting seatbelt offender, unpainted buses, and setting traps for drivers. Ordinary offence that cost 10k for offender Latsma will charge 50k , because of time factor They have daily contribution target. |
