I'll tell you some of the things the HRGuy gave me, those I can remember. I'm sure you go don do all the STAR procedure and so forth:

1. In addition to the usual research about your job role/company, etc., research about your industry and chip in things from current events where you can. For instance, in my role, I was able to find a way to bring in the forthcoming FCA regulation of BNPL providers, and the B of E's proposal to weaken affordability stress testing for mortgages (and this took us down another path of discussing house prices in the UK, which was fun because me wan buy house and it killed a lot of interview time wey them for use dey hammer me).

2. No fake accents, just speak in a modulated voice, think of those NTA newsreaders of those days, Cyril Stober and co (or in your case, the late Tokunbo Ajayi?) and just speak naturally, but enunciate slowly. Dont talk with your hands, because that usually makes one start talking faster, and when they start with "pardon", "Come again?", you're getting into deep waters.

3. If you don't know the answer to a question, nothing wrong with saying you that, or saying you haven't come across that in your current role.

4. Nothing wrong with using humour from time to time, it works. Just target it if you must do so, like when I was asked: "where do you see yourself in 5 years time", you fit talk "Well, for a start I hope I'll be seated on your side of the table making other people sweat on this side of the table", that kind thing (copied).

5. When they ask you if you have any questions for them, ask about career progression opportunities, training, etc., make e be like say you dey interested in sticking with them and will not just pack up and go in 6 months after you don mark present for your CV.

etc., etc.

As usual, no hard and fast rules, just do your best.

Good evening, many thanks for this explanation. pls i need advice from you on credit card especially on American express CC. I recently opened one and credit of £1000 was given to me, i was planning to start using it. i just received a mail for overdue payment, i was surprised because i have not used it at all. I was told to make payment of.£25 and £975 left as remaining balance. i called them they said i did the one of annual payment, i need to be paying £25 yearly, i told them i never knew, but the lady said that she can switch me to the one that does not pay annual. please i am confused bc she gave me benefit of the both accounts but honestly i don't understand any terms she used, she said £10,000 will give me 1.2% honestly i don't understand. i am been careful not to fall for late payment. kindly advice me on the best one to use for my level, i am just trying to build up my credit. i can't be paying £25 every year. kindly advice bc it is urgent let me rectify this problem. kindly find attached pic . Many thanks for your response

Again, you're overcomplicating this whole thing. You obviously got a card with an Annual fee. If you think £25 is too much every year, which it isn't, then pull out and opt for the right card. Whether you will pay off the £25 first or not is left for the CC provider to decide. However, since you have spent £25 through the fee, ensure you pay the 10% minimum due of £2.5 or whatever it will when the time comes, better still pay off the full balance of £25 or whatever you would have spent by then.

I say £25 is not much because this is the Cashback Card where you get 5% back of your expenses for the first £3k or so, then it reduces to 0.75% or so. Meaning you spend £2,000 and the card gives you back £100. You even get £30 each time you refer a friend. If you ask me, it's a good deal for just £25 yearly.

For those who want the AMEX card that has NO FIXED fees, you can use my referral link below. You don't get Cashback but you get points for British Airways flights and Holiday bookings:

No, it is not on a minimum-wage job.
For a 1-year postgraduate program that starts in September, your term time will be about 10-11 months.
Autumn term: September–December (3 months excluding about 3-5 weeks of holiday as most schools resume in the 1st or 2nd week of January).
Spring term: January–March (3 months with about 3-5 weeks for the Easter break)
Summer term: April–August (4 months mostly time spent on your dissertation. The moment you hand in your dissertation, you are free of school).
The minimum wage is £9.50 for age 23 and over.
If you get a minimum wage job, you will be earning
£9.50*20 hours weekly = £190
£190*4 = £760 monthly
£760*10 months = £7,600
If you're lucky to get work hours during the Christmas and Easter breaks, you'd be able to earn more depending on how many hours you get.
The above is based on the assumption that you will get a job immediately you get to the UK but this is not always the case.

NHS London jobs pay a lil more than this because of the enhancements - HCA & WTD (Band 2 new entry - £12.99 inner London & £12.63 outer London; Band 3 new entry - £14.01 inner London & £13.65 outer London; Band 4 new entry - £15.28 inner London & £14.91 outer London) but getting into the NHS can sometimes be hard.

You're happy that you might be earning the above, right?
Now comes the expenditure:
*Accommodation: Estimated at a minimum of £400 per month (bills inclusive - Gas, electricity, water, Wifi etc) for a double room in shared accommodation. This can sometimes be higher depending on area and if you get one that doesn't include bills.

*Transportation: Minimum of £184 per month - This is based on London monthly travel card costs. Might be lower depending on how close your work and school are from your accommodation. Might be higher if you go out more often or take cabs at some point. Outside London, you might be able to get discounted yearly students' tickets for around £180 to use on the local buses. Train use will increase your costs.
For the purpose of this estimation, let's assume that you will be outside London and get the discounted ticket.

*Phone bill: Minimum of £10 a month for unlimited data, UK calls and free calls to some EU and North American countries. For calls to Nigeria, WhatsApp and Tesco International calling app will help to keep your costs low.

*Food: How do you eat? Your lifestyle will determine how much you spend. When I was in school outside London, I survived on £10 monthly for groceries (Milk, cereal, pasta etc) because I had a steady supply of cooked and uncooked food from home in London. Many people on a frugal eating plan might end up spending something around £50-100 monthly (depending on if you spend money on raw rice, beans, soup, bread etc) but this will require you to do some bulk cooking at some point to keep your feeding expenses low - the money spent on the cheapest meals eg. McDonald's wrap of £1.99 adds up to a high cost eventually.
To keep costs as low as possible, Aldi, Lidl, 1 pound stores (Sam 99, Poundland etc) are great options as they have some of the cheapest prices but you have to compare items across them to find out which one is cheaper for you.
I'd use lower ended £50 as the estimate here.

*Body care: Body creams, soaps etc come at their own costs too. Let's estimate this at £10 monthly.

The estimated total of the above with the London monthly travel card cost for trains & buses is £654 (Rent - 400, Phone bill - 10, Food - 50, Body care - 10, travel card - 184). You can opt-out of the Travel card option and use contactless which might end up costing more if you travel very frequently around the city.

The estimated total of the above with the outside London is £485.333 (Rent - 400, Phone bill - 10, Food - 50, Body care - 10, Discounted student tickets - 184 yearly broken down into 12 months is 15.333 monthly although you will usually have to pay the total cost upfront ).

Taking out the estimated expenditure from the estimated earnings will be as below
Estimated monthly wages - £760 minus estimated monthly spend - £485.333 = Balance remaining - £274.667
Balance remaining - £274.667 * 10 months = £2,746 during term-time.

Please note that the above are estimations and actual costs/wages might be higher.
Now, with the above, do you think that it will be possible to raise £10k that you most likely need for your tuition balance in less than 10 months?

is it possible to raise 10k pounds in the uk as a student ? After paying 10k with 5 months before enrolment

What are your plans after enrolling in a foundation course? What course are you looking at? Are the funds readily available to sponsor this? Foundation degrees are usually Level 5, meaning your work hours will be around 10 hours/weekly and you can't bring your family except it is a L7 foundation program. Would this be a problem for you?

It's not ideal to string them along, but if the COS issued is not used, there's a process for businesses to get their money back from home office, so you might as well let things play out. Just make sure you're going with the best offer not simply the first to offer COS.

When FG isn't doing their duties, I blast them, so I believe it's necessary to praise them where they've lived up to expectations. I applied for 10yrs passport online and went to the biometric interview on the 20th. While the queuing there, and the long wait for what was less than a 10min engagement wasn't ideal, my passport was delivered two days later, so I believe whatever they've done to optimise their processes requires commendation.
