Regionalization is the only best thing that can happen to Nigeria at the moment
Obidatti, atiku , tinubu or whatsoever will still be dribbling round the same circle without regionalization
Regions did not work because at the end , they were just mini-Nigeria's.....the majority dictating to the minority.(that's a part of why Biafra falied).

Plus most parts of regions were underdeveloped. A lot of the development happened after states were created.

The thing is, by 1965, there were already people arguing for more regions and even states. Gowon's creation of states in 1967 was a response to such demands (and also a nice way to take the wind out of Biafra's sails). Even Ojwkwu was hoping Biafra would be a nation of provinces....states in disguise.

The first sensible comment I've read here in a long time.

Thank you.

I never knew that he is married to the daughter of Late Major General IIiya Bisalla.

I read in the news some two years back when he ( Speaker Gbajabiamilia ) was asking for clemency for Late Bisalla.

But I think Speaker Gbajabiamilia is selfish.

He should also be broader in his approach by using his position to ask for clemency for those military officers that where executed for their involvement in the Late Major General Mamman Vatsa coup and military officers that were executed in the 22nd April, 1990 Orkar coup.

All these senators, governors, ministers , when you trace their antecedents you will see that a member of their family has been in the ruling class for the last 40 years atleast, you cant see ordinary people (as they call them ) ascend to become leaders, its always someone whose dad, uncle mum or aunt was in power or related to someone in power decades ago.

Why do you think some of them marry someone who is decades older or younger than them? Because they want to clear their road to the power seat, they even marry someone else's wife or husband, xtians marry Muslims not because of love but to get power.

Another reason we shouldn't trust them, we need a clean slate, someone who has never been in the system before.

After all all those claiming to be in the system have so far performed. poorly.

Speaker is diverting attention!
In the days of the military in power, a lot happened that we neither liked nor can query now. Military discipline is different from rule of law under democratic principles.

Same thing happened to Vatsa, OBJ and others. We wondered why Gideon Orkar wanted to tear our nation apart then by cutting off the core North. Now we know better. He must have acted out of frustration.

Honourable Speaker should focus on getting us out of the mess that we're in now, which OBJ once saved us from...at least on the debt issue.

Bisalla was part and parcel of
the coup plot, but the person that
was wrongly implicated and executed
was Joseph Gomwalk, the then
immediatepast governor of the then

If he heard of it and kept the information , then he was truly guilty as charged . By keeping quiet , it means he approved of it . If he would be affected negatively by the coup , he would have reported it immediately .
Same for any Christian that keeps quiet to a Muslim-muslim ticket in this bandit and terrorist regime , approves of it and stands to benefit from it .

Gbajabiamila, is this an established fact or you are just trying to make your wife happy now that you're in power?

He is making an attempt to revise history when he was not there and some of those who saved the country from another possible civil war at that time are still alive.

This is not right at all. He was not there and he should be sensitive to the families of those killed in that coup that led to the murder of our late Head of State, Gen. Murtala Mohammed in cold blood at Ikoyi.

I completely object to this attempt at history revisionism. He is not an authority on this subject at all and should never be quoted.
Murtala Muhammed led people to kill in cold blood. Like many soldiers of his time, he deserved his fate.

I still have the book, the trial of Dimka..

You can't be a federal commissioner of Defense and won't know of an impending coup d'etat..
No pity for bisalla..

It seems that Capt. Peter Temlong that was retired cos of the coup is the father of that former MNJTF commander in the other thread that said nigeria is under siege Currently..

As we read, it was Abiola that safed former governor of kwara state (olantiwo) when they accused him as part of coup plotters. His town people went to MKO Abiola and begged him to persuade ibb to release him. He was released.

Money Kudi Owo Abiola, the biggest philanthropist ever in nigeria
MKO abiola, the most popular nigerian ever.
MKO Abiola, the kindest nigerian ever.
