birdman:Pretty much. A parallel league is basically going to need 15-20 billionaires with 9 figure payrolls every year, and handing out 9 figure guaranteed money every 3-5 years. The initial gragra is not the problem. The question is the sustainably of this model over a 5-10 year period |

Khanben:Are you comparing Sports contracts to the contracts signed by regular professionals or 9-5ers? Man give me a break! Tell me the industry you can do what a Kyrie, Harden, Ben Simmons did and still get away with it You're comparing apples to oranges. Freedom of movement is a right but there's a little thing called a contract. When you sign it there's a difference |

A40:Gary only guarded him after game 3, so out of the 3 games they went 1v1, he got the better of MJ from a defensive standpoint 2x. PS: I am just using this as an example to those who always talk as if the OGs dominated every game, steph and a lot of the current stars have just one or two okay games in a series and people get on their case as if they are supposed to score 40 every single night. |

A40:But teams also signed the same contract. Blake was trade 1 month after the Clippers convinced him to stay in FA, he had other suitors from competitive teams then, but the Clippers wooed him and they gave him a contract. 1 month later they traded him without so much as a heads-up. If ownership is allowed to do that, then any player has the right to ask for a trade whenever they want. PS: why should sports contract be different from any other contract. Is there a different law for sport stars, that I don't know about. It is a profession like any other, people don't curse actors when they force the creators of a show to kill a popular character, because the actor want to pursue other projects, while under contract. Actors are well compensated, why is there no such outcry? |

Sources: The Boston Celtics have offered a Jaylen Brown package to the Nets for Kevin Durant, which Brooklyn turned down and countered. Full details on a potential Celtics-Nets mega-deal to be had, latest on Donovan Mitchell and more at the Inside Pass: https:///Gkyfkhg5A1 |

felix00:Celtics offered Brown for KD according to Shams. Thoughts? |
| Re: The NBA Begins by felix00(m): 12:44pm On Jul 25, 2022 |
felix00:Details of the trade The Celtics offered Brown, guard Derrick White and a draft pick to the Nets for Durant, sources said. The proposal was rejected, and Brooklyn has asked Boston — in any proposal — to include Brown, Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart, draft picks and potentially one more rotation player, those sources added. Currently, the Celtics are less inclined to include Smart along with multiple other player or pick assets, but the franchise is mulling over next steps on how to approach discussions. As of right now, the Celtics have emerged as a serious possibility as a landing spot for Durant. They have tremendous interest in bringing him in and view him as a piece that could take them over that final hurdle. Although there is work to be done, there is a deal to be had that would suffice the Nets’ overwhelming ask. |

Khanben:Nobody dominates every game. That's not even possible. Also factor that Nate McMillan another very good perimeter defender was guarding Jordan, not just Payton |

felix00:Na wa. So Durant too go open eye join team wey sweep am. The funny part is this Brooklyn team is in better shape than the Celtics he might want to go to. He should grow a pair ![]() |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 2:01pm On Jul 25, 2022 |
A40:Agreed that nobody dominates every game, but why is it expected of this current generation. All it takes is 1 ok/average game for someone to call a great player a choker or some other name. As for the Glove, whenever both he and MJ were on the court it was 1v1, when the bulls were on the offensive |

It's an American media narrative that has infected many. It's usually brought to the fore when debating who makes it to the top lists. At this point, even the pettiest arguments are admitted as evidence. I mean A choked more than B so B must be better. . Very interesting angle that many of us find useful. And unfortunately for the players today the history of their chokejobs are easily accessible, even so some are still fresh in our minds . Khanben: |

benji93:Absolutely, the current guys have all their bad moments digitally available at the touch of a button. They are competing against memories of only positive play. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by benji93: 3:59pm On Jul 25, 2022 |
But wait, if the Boston rumour comes to fruition, it would be history repeating itself. Joining a team that swept you. . It would be nice to renew our rights to such banter. ![]() |
| Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 4:07pm On Jul 25, 2022 |
Khanben:I don't think there's any elite player that has explicitly been labeled a choker in today's game on all sides asides James Harden. Everyone else has their army of defenders and detractors for the most part. All I'm saying is between Jordan and Payton. Whatever uptick or 'slowing down' Jordan might have endured, also bear in mind that Nate McMillan was doing the dirty work. If you're trying to claim that Gary Payton guarded Michael Jordan every single offensive possession. That would be patently false. In their 21 Head to head games Jordan dropped 35 or more points on Payton's head on 6 occasions |

This Jaylen Brown trade issues get as e be. He will understand it but how does that work with team chemistry going into next season? I guess time will tell. |

There are many possibilities here though. I mean he could have been referring to the media bringing up his name as a tradable piece. Anyone would be furious, not to talk of a potential Star. At this point make them kuku do the deal ![]()
See wetin baba tweet https://twitter.com/SportsCenter/status/1551585228585582598?s=20&t=fmGj4ja1Wp7o2e6KHQUixw
|

Android17:Exactly, this is what I keep talking about when people accuse players of asking for trades. JB less than 3months ago was the Celtics best player in the finals and without so much as a heads-up they were throwing him in for a trade. If teams are not going to be held to the contracts they signed, why should players be held to the same. I just hope when JBs current contract runs out, he prioritizes himself and does what is best for him because the team will always do that. |

benji93:Hahahaha. One of the most ballyhooed runs. They slandered Jordan's era like man's was beating Thanos. Some of these stats are actually shocking when you start uncovering them. Did you know for instance that Lebron only beat 1 50 win team from 2003-2010 before running to the Heat. 1 ohh |

| Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 7:14pm On Jul 27, 2022 |
aliondo:It only makes sense if we look at it from the standpoint of money. The Celtics ownership have an aversion to paying the luxury tax, they pay it when they have no choice, but every indication points to the fact that they're the opposite of GSW ownership who are willing to pay the luxury tax as long as it gives them a good chance at winning a championship. So maybe they told Brad that if they will be paying the huge tax bill this upcoming season he better guarantee the 18th banner. So the only option to do that is to bring in KD without gutting your core. This is my own conjecture on the whole situation and I am not claiming that it is a fact ![]() |

The Cavs are offering 3yr/40mil to Sexton, that's what injury can do to a players value. Always secure the bag as soon as possible. |
