My wife is not producing enough breast milk for my baby boy who's just 2 weeks old. We got a breast pump but the milk just trickles and drops for hours. She's feeding well and even taking pap.
She's a first time mom

Is there anything else we can do based on recommendations please we need a proven method

Thanks to all wonderful mummies here

silverbird is not recommended for children under 6yrs.

Congratulations to you papa!! Well you can get her lactation cookies. She should keep putting him to breast when awake and also pumping when he’s asleep. All that should trigger more production. Bearable hot/Warm water breast compress also help with milk let down. She should also continue with the pap and keep eating well.

While Exclusive breastfeeding is good, please do not hesitate to feed him formula using spoon (all supplementary feeding should be with spoon for now so he doesn’t reject breastfeeding. This can happen if he gets used to feeding with a bottle). The important thing is that he’s well fed to avoid dehydration.

Sending you more strength as you continue to take on your role as a loving, supportive, caring husband as well as a hands-on-dad (as much as you can).

Congratulations to you both!!

See source and more @ https://wokenationtv.com/world-breastfeeding-week.html

World Breastfeeding Week (WBW)
is a global campaign to raise awareness on matters related to breastfeeding. WBW is officially celebrated every 1st -7th August since 1992 till date. Since 2016, WBW is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In 2018, a World Health Assembly resolution endorsed WBW as an important breastfeeding promotion strategy.

The WHO recommends exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months of life, followed by continued breastfeeding with appropriate complementary foods for up to 2 years and beyond. WHO also recommends early and continuous skin-to-skin contact, rooming-in, and kangaroo mother care, which improve neonatal survival and morbidity.

Encourage all mothers to begin breastfeeding as soon as possible after birth, preferably within the first hour of delivery, and should receive practical assistance to enable them to initiate and establish breastfeeding as well as handle common breastfeeding issues.

Skillful breastfeeding counseling is critical to increasing breastfeeding rates. Improving access to expert breastfeeding counseling can help to increase the length of breastfeeding and encourage exclusive breastfeeding, which benefits newborns, families, and economies. Mothers require competent breastfeeding support more more than ever during the CoVID-19 outbreak.

As a result of the epidemic, majority of health personnel responses are responding to emergencies. Breastfeeding support services, including counseling and competent lactation assistance, are in short supply. Infection control methods, such as physical separation, make it difficult to maintain community counseling and mother-to-mother support programs. As a result, countries must employ novel solutions, such as e-counselling and support, to give expert breastfeeding assistance to mothers. Step up for Breastfeeding today!

World Alliance For Breastfeeding Action - WABA

The World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) organizes the event each year. WABA is a global network that works to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding around the world. Along the way, it collaborates with the World Health Organization and UNICEF to ensure that its assistance reaches the right people in the right communities.

Every year on August 1st, World Breastfeeding Week begins and ends on August 7th.

However, busy mothers face a variety of pressures, which means that women who wish to breastfeed their children may not always get the assistance they need. Due to busy work schedules and the many other challenges that modern women face, women may not always feel that breastfeeding their child is an option that is available to them.

Breastfeeding awareness weeks attempt to increase awareness of the health and well-being benefits of breastfeeding, as well as the significance of assisting women in continuing to breastfeed for as long as they choose.

Good morning mamas and happy new week ... please I need suggestions and advice on what to do. Since I had my baby over 9month ago she has never slept by heslef I guess my mum spoilt her with too much carrying dat that she sleep carrying her on her hand. while carrying her and u put her down on d bed or her bassinet she will wake up immediately crying.. den from carrying her to sleep even if it 3 hours we hold her on our hand well she sleeps. Over time it moved to backing when she was about 2-3month. Please to cut story short d issue now is dat my baby still cannot sleep on d bed when she naps and at night I ve to put my hands under her to place her head and dats how she sleeps all d time . Once I get up to just pee I won't ve reached d bath room before I start hearing her cry I will ve to rush so she doesn't fall off d bed while she look for mi . Please i need suggestion as dis backing for 2-3 straight to nap like twice during d day and even at night time before placing her on d bed is already getting stressful . Please I will appreciate your suggestion . FTM

Daycare will do the magic! My kids are so independent because they started daycare from one month. When they need(ed) to sleep, straight to bed while I keep myself busy.

Good morning wonderful mamas pls o help me.My Ds is 8weeks today and for some days now I noticed that each time I comb his hair after bath I see brown stuff on the comb, then I parted the hair and saw brown stuff on some part of the hair like dandruff ,I Google it and I saw cradle cap. pls who has dealt with this and what did u do to clear it .for now I just keep combing the hair so that the stuff can come onto the comb, pls don't read and pass if u have dealt with this before o and thanks in advance.

My son suffered cradle cap sad, he lost his hair and looked like oyibo pikin. While you comb out the hair, there will be hair loss. I will recommend you to always oil his scalp, use a shampoo and check your bedsheets/wrapper you use for him.

My third son wanted to experience it but I quickly washed the new wrapper and also used shampoo.

A dirty or old wrapper can cause it. Even a new wrapper should be washed before use.
