Drones are even too far; whatever happened to using simple IR night vision goggles? Imagine soldiers saying they saw torchlight in the forest and then proceeded into an ambush cos they didnt know the bandits were plenty. With the billions of dollars spent on defence, simple heat signature/thermal imaging night vision goggles which I can buy off ebay could have solved this problem. Nigeria is led by animals!
As in eh….the daft tactics employed by them is pro max!

What is this nonscense

if the voice note is true..then i must say the defense ministry are very very stupid.even me that i'm not a military personel will never venture into that stupid journey into the unknown bush....I not know Soldiers are killed because there boss are very stupid. No plan ,they just go into the bush..even Hunter have plan

Before you go in ay least you should use powerful Drone to survey at least 60 km into the bush know they area well and discover there movement

They just waste peoples life anyhow..this people are too dumb..No intelligence..sorry to say
My brother it's very painful tbh but I no fit blame them, you can't be on orders and say No to ur superior. he says we're entering and that's it

Something is not right.
These bandits are no match for Nigeria soldiers
Yet the inside job helps to cover them up
Sad to say,
The government is into this
Mostly on ground oof religion ( my opinion)
If you had followed the bbc report...the fulanis ( bandits ) have been having issues with the hausas and the govt have not been doing anything to stop it being they have a brother a fulani which is the issue.

So the govt already knows the issue thats why they are reluctant to wipe them off cause he cant just wipe his brothers as he himself knows and feel their pains ..

So if you ask me , the govt hands are tied and Buhari wants out of office quick so it wont be him that will be blamed for killing his brothers.

That was a brave one from the Nigerian Army
Yes, foolishly brave. You don't go fight ur enemies blindly, the trick was to flash the torchlight and bring the Army closer so they can kill em and they did partly succeed on that

But Kudos to the Bold ones

But boss IR night visions would only help em see clearly at Night not help them count the number of bandits within the corner, the vision would still have been a lil useless without air support

I dont even know whether to blame the soldiers or their crude tactics. I think the real problem and the real culprits are the government and the military heirarchy that have pocketed billions but still failed to provide the most basic equipment for the troops. Troops going into ground combat without armour vests, vision goggles, vehicles and very often with limited bullets.

Trust me, air support would be overkill for these ragtag illiterate militia. THe only reason they could kill the soldiers was cos the soldiers were BLIND and ambushed. Imagine walking blindly into a forest saturated with the enemy waiting for you in the deep of night? THe soldiers couldn't see them, couldn't establish their positions and even thought they were just 20 - 30 enemies, when infact they were possibly over 200?

With a single thermal vision goggle, the soldiers in addition to spotting the large number of hostiles, could have also established their exact positions and taken them out with artilllery (no need to even step close to the forest). THe corrupt greedy military heirarchy are the ones responsible for the carnage in this country. If the top heirarchy reallly wants all these to end, they know what to do.

as simple as that, I believe Buhari is complacent to this terrorism, if not to scatter this Men na small matter just bombard them with all the forces we have. They can't survive such attacks at all
Too damn right. Remember Arepo in Ogun State when Criminals used to destroy pipelines and kill security forces on foot.

The whole Arepo Bush with criminal hideouts was Carpet bombed by Armed forces.

Now, you don't hear any criminality news from Arepo again. Now I wonder how it's so difficult for security forces to use aerial surveillance to see terrorists on bikes moving in large numbers from point A to B .

Not even a cheap Chinese drone to fly overhead and gather intelligence, vote Peter obi and watch prominent youth comel back to Nigeria and help change things.

God bless the military and protect them.
They are only serving to keep country save.

But the foundation of this weakness is corruption, Nigeria spend too much on security not to have the necessary equipment and modern arms and ammunition to engage terrorists and defeat them. Death to the people sabotaging this efforts

I remember this operation. That zone became a deadly place until the military bombed the entire forest down and peace restored till date.
Nigeria have the capability to provide Security but corruption is our biggest problem
