anonimi:How much do you think it cost to build a light rail system linking every part of Lagos, and also given the terrain? Jakande did a lot, but a light rail system is very capital intensive. I think Jakande aslo wanted to start it but the military canceled after the civilians were toppled. The excuse then was that it was too capital intensive. You just don't criticize just for the sake of it. Use your brain, God gave it to you for a reason. |

Salewa97:If a state government bring investor and the federal government didn't give them license what will the investor do? There are some project that state government decision can't just stand alone, 1. International airport 2.sea port 3.international loan 4.university( yes for a state to establish an accredited institution no be beans) 5. Dam or power generating plant Etc. So when you see this project taking place in any region the federal government must give their consent otherwise no matter the investor you bring they can't do nothing. And note any investor will not accept naira for carrying out their project in any region , so the federal government policy can also kill the project even before the project start.. That is why , both southwest and north know the potential south East has if given a level ground to play., South West are only benefit from the Nigeria northern policy because north know if they keep the two region as enemy (south West and south east) this country will collapse . |

Realtalk20:I think the first thing you have asked is who actually owns the port. No be everything be tribalism but some folks like doing so. The deep sea port was initiated by the Lagos state government who saw a need and in keeping inline with the Lagos state Masterplan. So since it is a port and the jurisdiction in law falls under the purview of the NPA so basically the Ports authority are also involved to map out certain strategies and global standards. And lastly is the contractor which is a Chinese firm Tolaram( if I am right). It’s an tripartite arrangement spearheaded by Lagos. To your question of other region, they always scream Buhari this Buhari that but will never and I repeat Never hold their governors accountable. I do not subscribe to the fact that Buhari did well oo. He failed. At the central but we can also itemize the successes of each governors at least Buhari is not holding their funds. What have they initiated and completed and some we have seen such as the Anambra Airport enough of Abuja let’s hold our Governors accountable and even Senators and reps don’t forget they both get constituency allowances too in hefty sums but we are all fixated on the President. At least I know Americans and Canadians are not fixated on the president or prime minister except for online discussion and media. On ground, they hold their leaders responsible big time and that’s exactly the opposite of what we do here. We just scream Buhari till fade! |

Realtalk20:Tinubu promised to ensure work starts on Calabar deep sea port and is completed... and i loved that idea BECAUSE unlike Akwa Ibom and others Cross rivers is no longer an Oil producing state ! the port will attract key development while serving the south and east... north east too. That's the kinda presidency I support. not people who cannot tell us one project they will do. |

Realtalk20:Not one naira came from the FG or the state government Do not go about saying what you do not know The Money is 100% Private investor money Lagos state has a shareholding by virtue of providing the Land The FG has a shareholding because the constitution give authority to license ports to the FG and the FG cot a share in exchange for permission. That is the situation with regard to funding and ownership LASG desrves credit for the conceptualization and work to convince investors to put their money in Lagos state when they could have chosen Ondo or Akwa Ibom |

Lol, I pity anyone that believes this, I have been to that port at the free trade zone and believe u me... That port would not be operational till next year, The road leading to the free trade zone has not even commenced, the road they did from Eleko junction down to Epe is a suicide mission so tiny... At least from September last year till now, that road has taken over 8 lives, that road is too tiny for normal vehicles talk more of big heavy duty trucks that would make use of that axis when ready... They are currently doing the road from Eleko towards Awoyaya, but trust me alot of work is still needed even December sef, they can't finish this road... Now the major road linking people from Eleko to the free trade zone has not even started.... Road asides now, the deep sea port itself is not ready atal, work has been done yes!, but mehn this 98% shit or 99% been told is thrash... That port is about 60% ready or less... |

Great job by LASG. Ondo/Ogun and other littoral states could have done the same. Afterall it's basically PPP arrangement and FG permit (resulting in share ownership) that made it possible. |
