Sunday Oliseh was being highly hypocritical and I addressed this strongly on twitter the day his silly comments surfaced. My post was well received by most.

Sunday Oliseh picking an Ndidi whose ball playing abilities are way too inferior to Mikel Obi in same role was the height of Oliseh's disrespect for Mikel.

Mikel was not only a midfield orchestrator blessed with Super ball playing abilities but he was also very solid defensively. This makes Mikel more superior to Ndidi in the DM role. Mikel could also be taken for a regista. That is how well versed he was in the role.

Oliseh and Mikel share more similarities due to both having both offensive and defensive attributes at elite levels during their time as players but Ndidi only boasts solid defensive attributes at an elite level.

Ndidi is a top notch CDM ONLY WHEN IT COMES TO DEFENSIVE ACTIONS/STATS.

Ndidi's ball playing, passing technique and ball carrying are not top notch.

His passing accuracy only began to improve after 2019/2020 season and guess what... it cannot get any better than the level he showed in 20/21 season.

This is part of why our Super Eagles midfield suffered at Afcon 2022(2021) when Ndidi was paired with Aribo. Both are not central midfield juggernauts and are certainly not tactically synced as a pair to give us effective products through the middle.

This is what the Likes of Meliforme, TheGoodJoe and Myself have tried to communicate in our own different ways but misunderstood bcoz many still view takes here through the eyes of agenda.

Even the much maligned Omanambala1 (AKA OdenigboAroli) has actually been spot on with regards to Ndidi's limitations in midfield. The only thing that made most not get the tactical truth he was revealing was due to the manner in which it was communicated. For instance he said Ndidi is inferior to Nwakali and Azubuike Okechukwu in midfield. Many attacked this... even I wasn't gonna let him say such due to the fact that Ndidi was and is still having a better midfield career than both.

But the truth remains that Ndidi is indeed inferior to both lads in the area of his ball playing and his passing range.

I think being specific was the issue but Omanambala1 knew what he was talking about.

Back to Ndidi's limitations.... his limited passing range and average-decent passing ability is one reason he is better paired with a true midfield orchestrator whose passing range is near unlimited and whose eye for the lines breaking and front-foot pass is top notch.

The Ndidi-Aribo combo at Afcon2022 (2021) failed to give us any assurance on the creative front and the rejuvenation of Alex Iwobi as a deeplying Midfield Conductor (CM) under Lampard and Peseiro gives us a strong idea of why the Ndidi-Aribo midfield should NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN.

Aribo's forte lies closer to the box as an "8" or as an SS, Roaming direct-playing AM or RW.

Ralph Hassenhuthl has recognised this and is already applying Aribo in such modes.

IN THE SUPER EAGLES, playing Aribo as d direct playing/roaming #10 in a 3 man midfield will be best.

Such midfield must boast an elite ball winner (Ndidi) and a top midfield conductor (Iwobi as first choice and then options like Nwakali pop up as well).

Ndidi's strength lie in his ball winning attributes. His passing range is decent but LIMITED and his overall ball playing impedes our plays coz it's not top notch.

So in conclusion, yes he remains a top notch DM but only in the areas of defensive stats which is actually the main forte of what makes a good DM. But in the class of what modern football requires from DMs today, in the area of ball playing.... Ndidi is not up there and I think he never will be.

And this is why we MUST PREPARE for the likes of ball playing DM options as upgrades for the future in the likes of Raphael Onyedika, Samson Tijani, etc.

These lads will not just be replacements in the long run but in time, Naija fans will come to see them as true upgrades.

For now.... Ndidi remains our most rated midfielder in world football but truth be told, his replacement must be an upgrade or else we are kidding ourselves like Oliseh to think Ndidi even comes close to being half the player that Mikel was in that role.

Kog45:
I know Sunday Oliseh will not like to hear this,Ndidi with Mikel passing technique would have been a monster DM that world would have appreciated better but not withstanding he is still a top notch DM.

I have never rated grealish nah ,stated severally that he isn’t worth 100 million ,I do call him an average player

There is more to Grealish than people see. He is going to deliver loads soon. He has a unique quality of drifting into the hole in front of the opponent's 18-yard box.

I feel Guardiola knows Grealish's strength but for some development reasons (and likely his lack of aggressiveness in defending), Pep Guardiola keeps him wide.

However, in that attacking hole, he is an absolute nightmare to the opposition. I am expecting big things from Grealish this season. He just needs a little time.

These gears are very uncomfortable. This is even evident from the number of times Osimhen takes them off in-game.

This move should be an "End-of-NT-invites" move but we aren't so stacked for quality at CB yet.

The Croatian league is a 10 team league... What kind of move is that? SMH...
For somebody that played in La liga and Ligue 1, it's either he doesn't have good agents or is more after the money....

I am just waiting for someone who will come tell me it's a good move because Hadjuk Split is one of Croatia's top teams, finished 2nd last season and currently doing well in the new 22/23 season.

Honestly considering he's just 25 and has featured in La Liga and Ligue 1, regularly, this move is a serious let down.

They face Portuguese side, Vitoria Guimaraes in Round 3 of the UECL Qualifiers in 3 days and at least I hope they make it for Awaziem's sake.

Now I have to put up with following Chidozie in Croatia. Not like I don't keep up with the league, I actually do for sake of other naija lads there, but for goodness sake, not Awaziem naa. A player that should still be in the top 6 leagues and not outside it.

Disappointing move. And he could be their player permanently by the end of the 22/23 season as his loan comes with an obligation to buy.

It seems like Omeruo has been mentoring him, cus I don't understand why at his age and with his quality,he can't stay at one club... 5 loan moves in 6 years.. We could say Porto played a part in it when they refused Nantes offer to sign him permanently back then, but he later went to La Liga...
This Croatia deal doesn't make sense at all.. The league is ranked 19th in Europe..

There is no money in the Croatian league. It is only in saudi and china that there is money.

If he wanted a new experience brazillian and argentine league would have been good.
He lacks ambition and the move is not even financially rewarding.
Rohr made our players not to go to obscure leagues as he threayened to drop them if they did and i now understand why.
Some of our home grown players have a poor mentality and are just not ambitious

He might still move or remain in Torino. He has played like 5 preseason friendlies, might be a sign he's in the coach's plan.
