You might be right anyways, but that's me for you broda! I find it EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to convict anyone on the basis of a one-sided story (i.e. not hearing the other party narrate his own side. the law calls it 'the right to fair hearing').

In instances like this, I begin to find ways of making a 'probable excuse', and a lot of "perhaps this..", "perhaps that..." etc. sweeps through my mind. For now, it remains a one sided story, and there are two sides to every coin.

How are we even sure the husby is fine where he is? Is it not possible the man is in coma somewhere in Nigeria or under kidnapper's den (God forbid), and we are all here making speculations that he has left his spouse behind, and traveled to Canada? grin

There are behaviors that cannot be excused!
Whether he’s in coma, kidnapped or whatnot does NOT negate the fact that he took her passport and left her hanging even with her pregnancy.

How can you excuse such wickedness because of “danger of one-sided story?”

What baba doesn’t know is, once she gives birth here, it complicates the whole process for everyone.

Yes, I paid for a two-way courier. I also paid the transmission fee because my son didn’t do biometrics. I don’t think you have to pay the transmission fee if you don’t have a child and you are sending it through the same VAC that you did your biometrics. You will attach the slip that you were given during Biometrics to prove that you did your Biometrics there.

However, you can still pay if you can afford it, just to avoid delays if it turns out everyone is required to pay the fee. I know a single person that paid and it’s not like they refunded the money.
Thank you for your response.

After seeing my fourth Ghost update on Sunday, I called an IRCC agent on Monday. The agent informed me that all stages had been completed/passed on July 30, 2022, and a note is on my profile requesting the CIO to send the read for Visa email. Again, how much time would wait before I receive PPR?

Is a good news.... In no time PPR will surface. Congrats!.
Pray for the rest of us. I have my AOR 30 Dec 2021 and my VO is CIO.
CIO is damn slow this time around. Most of my check lists are still "in progress". Meanwhile, some of my friends from other VOs have received their PPR especially in Montreal. It is well.

well she didn't state that they are seperated nor divorced.
He could have decided to make her unaccompanying whether they were separated or not. It doesn’t matter. His application, his right. He didnt even need to give ircc an explanation as to why he didn’t want his wife to come. Even People who are madly in love and in the strongest marriages apply with spouse unaccompanying all the time. It’s the principal applicants right to choose who will come along to Canada as his dependent and who wouldn’t.

Did you read or you just want to type for the sake of?

If you want to get a passport as a Nigerian, you're either getting a fresh one or renewing on basis of expiration/loss/Theft so what exactly are you on about?

so when her COPR is kept on humanitarian grounds and the Husband claims not to have the passport still, what happens? she will affix the visa to her forehead and travel abi she'll go to passport office to say my husband has it but please give me new one.

It's a catch-22. She could declare her passport stolen and the husband could simply reproduce the old one and say she lied... what would you advise her to do then?

Hello people i’m in a bit of a dilemma and i need the advice of seniors…
my job were i worked in 2013-2015 (i was paid in cash.. i have a salary certificate to that effect .. i know it’s not necessary but i can provide photos of me from years ago wearing the company shirt at the time) .. i also have my employment letter and reference letter from my former Boss.

Now the problem is, i just saw in my marriage certificate dated 2014, in the space asked for Rank or profession, i erroneously filled in “Engineering” because that’s what i studied. i thought that’s what they meant. i have no idea how to explain this. Should i decline ITA? or is there a way out of this.

When i add the 2013-2015 work experience,y CRS is 539 and when i use my current work experience which is 1yr 6 months i’m on 514.
Should i decline and wait for when i’m called at 514? please advice.

Rule 1: Never decline an immigration benefit.

My point exactly!..as long as you did not claim spousal points. I think this is good knowledge for every applicant regardless of the issue that brought up this convo.

Hello everyone,

Please, I have some questions that will need clarification from the elders in the house.

I am about to start my Canadian pr journey and this has been my plan for years, get the necessary work experience to increase my CRS score, and then start the application process. But recently I have been torn between going for MSc in data analytics in the UK and starting my Canadian pr journey.

My question is, for those that have moved to Canada in the last few years,

1) do you think not having an MSc in your chosen career has affected your chances of getting a job or a better-paying job in your field in Canada?

2) In the data science and analytics field, is MSc important.

Thank you as you answer my questions.

work experience is koko abroad / what you can do. Not your qualifications. You can have all the qualifications in the world and still know nothing about your job. Some of the bosses you may work with abroad have only secondary school cert.

With logical reasoning, his application is his right but with IRCC, its not that straight-forward.
he apparently declared that he was married & is gonna be accompanied hence PPR was issued to both parties.
If he declared he was married and unaccompanied then he needs to give IRCC a tangible reason he is not coming with his family.Even at that, the applicant and unaccompanying family will still have to do everything (biometric, medical,POF, remedical if required and police report).
The only way he can leave her out is if they are divorced and he has the documents to show for it or if he lies to IRCC that he is single which will amount to misrepresentation.

actually he can switch to unaccompanying and state that they are in process of separation/divorce as reason pending when divorce or separation documents are tendered. that way it will be on record that this was his intent instead of the rubbish stunt he pulled.

I think Nigerians are generally obsessed with qualifications and this is not the same thing in other countries..
Is this your first MSc?

Thank you as you answer my questions.

For most jobs in data science, employers are looking for people with a masters or phd degree. This is often explicitly stated in the requirements. Don’t underestimate what a masters can fetch you in Canada. Most times it actually earns you the interview. However it doesn’t automatically earn you the job. You still have to prove yourself in coding interviews or technical sessions.

But getting that masters in Uk is of no serious advantage in Canada if it’s not from Oxford or Cambridge. Most of these employers don’t know your regular Uk school. In fact, you are better off with a degree from Toronto Met than you are with one from Leeds or City. So if you really wanna do the masters, which will certainly give you an edge in your application, try to do it in Canada, if your final destination is Canada.

But if you final aim is getting a job in Canada after PR, my suggestion will be to start applying first while doing your masters. Chances are that, if you can do the job well, you could score some interviews and land a role even before finishing your degree.

No joke, some groups would call it slavery.
