Tinubu To Obi: Falsehood, Disinformation Won’t Win Elections by Kwanza: 2:22pm On Aug 10, 2022
The presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has asked his counterpart in the Labour Party, LP, Mr. Peter Obi, to call his supporters to order, warning that “falsehood and disinformation will not win elections”.

Tinubu, in a statement by his campaign organisation, on Wednesday, urged Obi to caution his supporters and to allow the election circle be about issues that will advance the growth, progress and stability of the country.

The statement by Director, Media and Communications, Tinubu Campaign Organisation, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, also admonished the Labour Party presidential candidate to get his supporters to “desist from spreading lies, malice and denigrating other candidates, especially Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu”.

“TCO (Tinubu Campaign Organisation) further states that Nigeria will be better for it and the electoral process will be enriched if the 2023 presidential campaign sticks to issues of good governance that will lift millions of Nigerians out of poverty rather than being dominated by the ravings of guttersnipes, who do not wish the country well,” the statement added.

Onanuga noted that the Tinubu Campaign Organisation saw the need to appeal to Obi to rein in his supporters after investigating the origin of the fake report claiming that the Ghanaian President, Nana Akufo-Addo wrote a letter to Tinubu, asking him to support Obi and take care of his (Tinubu) health.

According to him, the Ghanaian President, via his official Twitter account, has debunked the news as a product of deliberate mischief with the intent to deceive the public.

“I have written no such letter to the APC leader, and it will not occur to me to do so.

“Ghana and Nigeria boast of decades of cordial, strong and brotherly relations, and I am not going to be the one to interfere in the internal affairs and politics of Nigeria,” said President of Ghana via Twitter.

The ‘Biafra fake news site’
Onanuga said: “We have found that the fake news about Akufo-Addo’s letter was first published on June 22 by a rogue platform, whose url reads worlsnews.space (sic) and site identity as World of News.

“A content analysis of the site clearly showed that it is a Biafra news platform. The fake news was reposted on Facebook by Peter Obi Support Group, same day — a clear proof that Biafra campaigners and Peter Obi supporters are the same.

“Both the Facebook account and the website are replete with fake stories about Bola Tinubu, including a fake story credited to former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, alleging that Tinubu demanded N50 billion monthly payment from him.

“The spuriousness of the statement is in the evidence that Lagos did not begin to clock N50 billion revenue until after Ambode left office.

“Tinubu could not have demanded N50 billion monthly payment from Ambode when the state government didn’t make such in a month throughout the tenure of Mr. Ambode.

“The pirate website, which the Facebook account feeds, on also parades malicious fake news and headlines such as “I am old, but my blood is young, please vote for me – Tinubu begs youth” .

“There is also the most wicked of all headlines: ‘When I became president, I will Build more prison (sic) for Igbo’s and IPOB members – Tinubu’.

“The big surprise in all of these is that all the headlines have no supporting stories, and clicking them may bring virus to your computer.

“We have come to a point where it becomes imperative to tell Mr. Obi to show leadership and disavow his supporters, who are employing fake news and disinformation as deliberate tools to deceive and poison the minds of unsuspecting Nigerians,” he added.

When APC is acting opposition to a party that has no "structure" then know that they are dead.

They are tired of blaming GEJ. It is now time to shift the blame to Peter Obi.

Tinubu give up already. Your time has passed.

This has not escaped the attention of other Nigerians from Day One, here is a link https://www.nairaland.com/7191009/ipob-members-dump-biafra-agitation with proofs as well.
Like 2019, the election result will take care of them as usual. Nigerians will reject them and their new Principal .

The D.S.S should investigate if Obi or his associates are the ones funding these ipob terrorist group members as the BBC expose on the group confirm that these liars and bigots are given laptops and regular data to keep the misinformation on. Nairaland itself has a responsibility to identify these category of ipob terrorist group members that have been recruited by or for HE Obi to keep the platform as a cesspool of fake news. NCC must do its job too.

INEC too has a role to play in these actions threatening the integrity of the election. As they monitor campaign funds they should monitor this kind of nefarious activities of these characters HE Obi has recruited their services for his campaign.

It is the same ipob terrorist group members who are behind all the lies, bigotry and hatred.

A vote for HE Obi is a vote for the ipob terrorist group. A vote for HE Obi is a vote for the same terrorists who denigrated our national flag .Do not vote for unpatriotic elements and their principal.

When you vote against HE Obi, you are keeping Nigeria and Nigerians away from the activities of the terrorist group.

The Asiwaju group will keep a tab on them all. Compile all the unpatriotic elements recruited by HE Obi or associates and use it to alert Nigerians of the danger of giving a single vote for the southern Nigeria equivalent of ISWAP/ Boko Haram masqurading as lp and campaign against the group/lp in the North, SW, Rivers state & SS where APC is dorminant so that other Nigerians should know what risks and dangers to our national security comes with that particular mushroom party rented out to secessionists and ipob terrorist group.

The resentment against them in Lagos and SW is palpable, to add to the one in the North will affect innocent patriotic Nigerians of SE extraction from exercising their franchise outside SE . Asiwaju has done well to alert HE Obi/ his associates and recruits to stop before others retaliate. No particular tribe has the monopoly of mischief.

It is only Asiwaju Tinubu Presidency that is Patriotic .
Asiwaju Tinubu is the best, most patriotic and the most competent among the candidates. Only Asiwaju can take Nigeria to greater heights.

All the enemies of Nigeria will lose las las. They always lose. God bless Nigeria for ever!

He's a foolish man. All the propaganda they dished out in 2015 hasn't even been reciprocated by a quarter.

Just look at how he himself has an army of paid propagandists on nairaland to parade the exact same talking points and manufacture likes and shares for him.

Do we easily forget the BMC crew (Buhari Media Crew)? A group of people recruited to amplify talking points on social media both Facebook, Twitter and nairaland, creating multiple accounts, liking, and sharing so that it would trend. All from their campaign headquarters, done in order to control the flow of information. When they couldn't control twitter, then they banned the platform for 6 months, not to talk of their egregious media censorship.

Let him go and sit down.

"...to call his supporters to order".

What the "baba wey no well" and his minions do not realize is that Peter Obi does not have the power to call us to order. At the moment, the movement to save Nigeria is beyond him.

This same APC came to power through deception and propaganda. For over 7 years, lies and propaganda have been used to (mis)rule.

They've even started a lie-and-propaganda campaign for "shaky shaky daddy". And now they are complaining because we are countering them and using their own tools and strategies to tear them apart.

Let it be known that we are determined to make this country work, and as such, we will use all legitimate tools to achieve that goal, whether Nigeria's enemies like our methods or not. We don't give a damn.

Someone should tell Tinubu to come to the media and start taking questions from Nigerians and stop releasing statements through one yeye organisation.

After experiencing what we went through under Buhari, I cannot believe that people will have the guts to campaign for another sick grandpa.

Coming from a tribe who supported Buhari even when Boko haram appointed him to act as their patron and mediator.

Then, it was anything but Goodluck and this is born out of hatred for Igbos ( even though Jonathan is not Igbo).

A tribe that chose the grand patron of Boko haram (Shettima) as running mate.

You can continue to link IPOB to Obi but we know better and many Nigerians know the truth.
