About a week thereabout, a strange number called and was telling me how he bought my phone in Lafenwa in Abeokuta. But that the phone is locked. I explained everything to him and promised to compensate him if only i can get my phone.

The mumu said no. That he want to return it and get his money back. I asked for the seller contact, he refused. The next day, i received a message that the account has been reset and I can't have access to it any longer. That was how it ended.

This is quite strange, my Xiaomi note 7 got lost, I wrote a note & blocked it. 3 years now, it is still blocked & I haven't received such message.

This is very strange. They shouldn’t be able to flash out the login details on your phone manufacturer’s website.

Did you reveal sensitive info that aided them in doing a password reset on the phone?

I lost my Redmi Note 9 Pro in Ibadan and locked it with a message, it was locked and i traced it to Sabo ibadan, it was there for about a week, then the location changed to Lagos, spent a month there before i got a message that my account have been reset... all the lil info on the mi space was blank...

Your bootloader was unlock. If your bootloader wasn't unlocked there's no way they can successfully hack into your phone

Lock the phone? They will just flash it and it will become a new phone.
