Guy, why this? Take that person in already.
I don't understand you. Someone comes here looking for someone to accomodate them. NOWHERE did they say they wanted free accomodation. An idiot, yes she's an idiot, then insinuates that they borrowed POF. I rebuke them for their unfounded insinuation and they double down while insulting me and I return their insult by just calling them an idiot (this is not a insult in fact because anyone who jumps to conclusions can be fittingly described as an idiot) and I'm the one you're coming after. Have you bothered to chastise them too?

And yes, I have no problem helping out random strangers. Thank you.

i am actually dumbfounded on how people will come online to look for free accommodation. Yes, the Visa Officers who ask to show POF know that you will eventually be sorted but want you to have some money(minimal) with which you will use to settle in.

We should do better, in my opinion.
How did you come to the conclusion that they’re looking for free accommodation? Can you show me anywhere in their post on this thread where they asked for free accommodation or you’re the one projecting this based on your perception of their request?

My six year old is a US citizen and my three has a visit visa.. pls are there any document I should get at the point of entry...esp for the US citizen who is also going to be in Canada for long...

Also, pls what do we show at the entry for proof of fund.? Is it statement of acct, dollar card, cash etc.

Thank you

For your kid, check the cic/cbsa website for entry requirements for us citizens- you will get the most up to date info there.

As for pof, be ready to show anything they ask for and it is totally at the discretion of the officer you meet.

There he goes again, Buttcrack joe, yapping all over the thread. At this stage, it's almost like you have a mental disease. That's aside from being unable to think critically. You'd need a lot of help figuring out how to even start with any measure of thinking whatsoever. If you knew any better, you'd realize that the OP had never posted anything earlier regarding difficulty searching for accommodation, a problem a lot more people would be willing to offer suggestions on There's no dearth of accommodation in Canada, especially not in Scarborough. But of course, you don't think, and could never have remotely arrived at that realization. Now, you have a hundred and one person telling you, yet your cuckoo yapping never stops. Must be quite a big mouth on you there. No wonder it fits nicely around your buttcrack, Buttcrack joe! Lol

You continue to confirm that when you made you first comment on this subject you had no context or frame of reference for that comment but being the idiot that you are, you made unfounded accusations disguised as a question.

Continue to enjoy your obsession with orifices and all, that’s your terrain. I no go drag am with you.

Entitled much? Don't be angry.

Banks may not want to open an account for you as you're yet to land. However, you can reach out to any of the banks and let them know the account will be funded by funds coming from a uni in Canada. They may consider that as you'll likely land soon. You may have a better chance if you already have PPR. There's no harm in trying.

You are not poking holes in anything but just sharing your misogynistic views… we get it “men are gods and women are mindless submissive slaves at your beck and call”… Biko leave us and our “YouTube channel” to cry ourselves to sleep in peace… we didn’t beg you to watch it.. we did not call your name either

Why are some people so bitter

Why would you in your finest fantastical thinking imagine that I as much as even click on your puerile YouTube videos? I'm not offering you advice; neither am I trying to watch your Youtube videos. Not a chance. I'm merely stating facts here and suggest you live with them. If you like, you get off your high horse and start behaving like a normal person regardless of your Canada PR. It's also your choice, if you desire to add some chip on your shoulder merely because you have japa-ed. Doesn't bother me one bit. But it doesn't change the fact that many Nigerian men in Canada will look over you and proceed to go home to pick a virgin maiden.

Please don't bring me back to this thread again.

Sigh , your choice of words is really terrible , i hope that you find peace from within cause for you to have this sort of mentality says alot. Social media is really a leveller indeed , a faceless one at that. You may not know how much i have been searching and how overwhelmed i am already but please if there is anything you can choose to be in the world , choose to be KIND !

CountVersailles:

What happened to presenting that as your initial problem and having people here or anywhere else point out how you could successfully navigate that problem? There are multiple requests here for help with finding a room and it's a problem that can be easily solved, if you present it as such. Why do you think bunking with a stranger is the best solution to your "problem"?

You have the choice of AirBnB for a few days. You have so many rooms from Indian landlords scattered around Scarborough especially on Kijiji. You have hundreds of options if you are interested in looking. Except of course you are not telling the full story.

Thank you so much for understanding me , I'm so sorry you had to go through all those , sad how Nigerians think all immigrants are desperate or struggling , sigh !

jjohndoe83:
For someone who sometimes appears to be logical and balanced in their writing, something is really amiss somewhere. I can't understand how asking for help gave rise to the insinuation (disguised as a question) that they borrowed their POF. There could be many explanations for this, but you chose the most cynical of them all.

Do you derive joy from making these cynical remarks against other people? Is this how you relate with others in your circle? Or you're just nasty behind a keyboard?

Whatever it is, you're exhibiting early stage signs of a sociopath, please look into some counselling.

Go to the airline website/Expedia/sky scanner, check flights from those countries and compare the fares to flights from Nigeria. Also, calculate how much it will cost you and your luggage from your location in Nigeria to those countries too.

Then do the maths.

The way some of you think sha...someone came to ask for assistance with accommodation, some people started talking trash, emanating from their own insecurities.

Even if she's asking for free accommodation, is anything wrong with that really? If you can't offer help, simply keep quiet and move ahead.

You don't have to project whatever bad experiences you've had (most likely from your relatives grin) on her.

The responses were really disappointing.
Let's be kind biko. I've seen Immigrants from other countries do even bigger favors for complete strangers.
