Seun , your frontpage layout hurts my eyes. The Topics are so clustered together. I think they need margin , top or bottom, or maybe they should be bolder or whatever . i just cant read them with ease. Secondly, i think this forum looks old school or maybe not, just my opinion. And why does the bottom links to next page inside a thread open in a new window , not even tab but on a new window!

Nairaland as a website is best kept simple.
I remember those years when I was seeking admission into the university, the only site my small tecnho China phone could browse was nairaland, and it helped by giving me the needed information.
Most websites that are upgraded becomes unreachable to phones with light weight web browser i.e phones that cannot use chrome, Mozilla and the rest of them. An example is livescores which can no longer be accessed by most opera mini versions.
I stand with Seun on this one by keeping it simple.

You are a wise person. Keeping it simple has made it so easy to browse by all that trolls now abound in large numbers. Those trolling him forget that they will be spending far more on data if it were other more heavy pages they browsed.

You too are a wise person. I don't know why people think they can harangue Seun to "upgrade" to a fancier front-end. Yes the UI looks very dated, BUT it is so simple that someone with even an Edge GSM connection can quickly load it. All those overloaded front ends don’t add much value in my opinion!

Two people above do'nt realize without new features, Nairaland can never grow past its current state.


Nairaland have been on 2m fake members now for over 3 years .

Talks from business newbies won't make seun change the UI design of the site.

I agree the site is lacking in some areas but the UI design isn't one of them

The design was worst than this sha.

If it had no issues b4 he wouldn't have change it since the previous one was lighter.

There's jokes/comedy section for u.

A change that increases average page size by 50kb at 1 million hits a day is a lot of hosting cost. And when you view advert rates and adverts number, that isn't too encouraging.
I prefer small changes without radical page size increase.

Someone already created another site, Afroic. It's way better than this.

Nairaland is from early 2000s, anyone with 1080p and above suffers. You'll have zoom in whenever you're browsing it.

How many nl members are using China phone today?
Even if they're using China phone, nairaland can have a mobile version for it.

Just like Reddit has 'old.reddit.com'
Even Facebook works on shitty phone.

Nairaland will have 10 times its members if it upgrade.

No be my papa house so i no mind lol . All im asking for is a dark theme not everybody can take that much light strain the eyes.

I like that page loads fast and it does the job it was intended for. Im more functional than fancy but still you need to improve the site, even if its small changes and the dark theme is necessary biko.
