Hello everyone. Please kindly list states that are close to etobicoke. I heard mississauga is close. I just need more options. This will help with my accommodation search. Thanks

If you want to get a Nigerian Driver License extract, please get it from FRSC In Abuja before coming to Canada (if you can or use a contact.)

Nigerian Embassy in Ottawa are the most usel*** and incompetent people I can think off at the moment…wicked and terrible. I applied drivers license extract, paid $100 money order, sent my original documents/license. These people lost my license and didn’t contact or respond. They won’t even reply to emails or answer their phones for months.

I had to apply for a license reissue from naija and applied for Drivers license extract from FRSC naija. Finally i did my G1 yesterday, passed and got waived to proceed for G road test.

A family friend will be getting PPR soon.Their passport will be expiring by December. They have applied for renewal and they have the new International Passport.

Do they need to inform IRCC or wait till they get passport request ?

They are thinking if they get Passport request, they will submit the old and new passport.

I suggested to them to inform IRCC via Webform about their new Passport.
Has anyone been in this position?
Kindly advise please…

I am presently in a shitty situation and I need recommendations.
I started the PR route a while ago and my husband grudgingly accepted to be added unaccompanied because he has a good job here in Nigeria and he doesn't want to relocate permanently. I added him after my AOR.
Things got so sour after the wedding and he asked for a separation and subsequently a divorce. I wanted to report our separation to ircc before they request for any ADRs regarding adding him, but I didn't because I had no legal document to prove my point at the time.
I have gotten PPR now and sent my passport as well, the divorce is getting finalized soon and I don't know if I should tell ircc at this point because I want to avoid misinterpretation.
What if the divorce get finalized around the time I get my COPR?
How will that affect my application? I've read it's likely they cancel my PPR and re issue another one.
Will the divorce have a negative effect on whether I get a new PPR or not? How long will it take to get a new PPR? Will there be request for any ADRs?
He has threatened to report our separation to ircc if I don't, and I'm wondering if he has any right to call or mail ircc on behalf of my application. It's so messed up cry

I have many questions, sorry

Go to the airline website/Expedia/sky scanner, check flights from those countries and compare the fares to flights from Nigeria. Also, calculate how much it will cost you and your luggage from your location in Nigeria to those countries too.

Then do the maths.

Very well said, thanks

Please you don't have to take my advice as I don't know anything about the law.
Please o, did he also get PPR since he's unaccompanying? If he didn't, I don't see what the problem is. I assume your divorce is being handled by a lawyer. I'm also assuming that there are no legal separation documents. If that's the case, I'd advise that you speak to your lawyer ASAP and ask if it is possible to draw out the divorce proceedings for as long as possible. Wait for your PPR, move as soon as you get it then finalise divorce.
P. S.
I'm working with the assumption that your husband is trying to frustrate your relocation efforts.

He is unaccompanying means he is not going with you at this time. By the time he is ready, you will need to sponsor him.

This makes it easy for you.

Let IRCC know immediately and let them know the divorce is being finalized, there will be no complications.

It only gets complicated if you delay it further.

Unaccompanying don’t get visa. They would need to be sponsored by the PA when they are ready.

So there are no issues at all if she lets IRCC know now- which is the right thing to do at the moment

Sorry about that, with the news and reports coming from that embassy, it's better to just seek whatever service one needs directly from Nigeria. On another note, congrats on your G1, can you pls hint me on your registration/knowledge test process? And how soon is your upcoming G road test or you will just book it whenever you feel ready for it.? I'm expecting my extract from BC this weekend in order to proceed with my tests as well. Thanks

I don’t know much about BC only for Ontario. I got lot of misinformation that I can’t go straight to G from G1 even with my driving experience. At the end of the day I took my extract to the drive test centre told the officer I have an extract from Nigeria. I registered and took the G1 test. After passing I was told i can take the G road test no need for G2. Today I took the G road test and passed. So it’s very possible to get the Full G if you have an extract from your home country. Like I said knowledge test for BC I don’t know much, you have to research or check out https://www.drivingtestcanada.ca. For G road test have a good and experienced instructor. I was lucky one of the officers in the drivetest center was Nigerian, he gave me the contact of an instructor which most Nigerians use and pass.

If there is no legal document for separation or divorce there is nothing to report.
Whatever is claimed by applicant must be supported with verifiable documents.
Since he is unaccompanying your marital status s of no consequence to IRCC

Hello everyone, I've been following this thread for the past five years. But i was forced to create an account just now. My husband and I landed in Halifax three months ago. With a set a twin girls. Making us a family of four.

I had a good job in nigeria, was working as a gynae with a big hospital on the island. However, i was forced to work on relocation because of very toxic inlaws. I can't explain it in words. I've got a deep story to tell. Just one of which is, after giving birth to the girls, my mother in law left the annoyance that I am maltreating her 8 days post partum. She said I didn't cook for her and all that. Bare in mind I had a caeserian session to birth the girls, I was recovering and I couldn't do much. She gossiped and said all sorts with her four girls but i was not bothered, I just decided to run far by coming to canada.

My issue now is they all insist on coming to canada to live with their brother. He's the only son and as such i think he owes them so much, I dont understand yoruba tradition deeply. But I'm here asking everyone to help because once they step into this country, our marraige is over. They tried to ruin it in lagos, but i was very patient. his siblings said they hate my children. Hubby's mom said sometimes she just feels like slapping my children and they turn deaf (they are just 3), Pls what do I do next. I'm exhausted. I hate drama. Cant families just let young couple be. Why do they want to be in our business so much? My hubby isn't seeing it as an issue yet, offcourse he hasn't done the leave/cleave thing.
I have some recordings of their threats towarda me. I just dont want anything to happen to my kids. I dont want them here at all. Please people should chip in their one cent.

I think the lesson you should learn from this is that you should learn to set boundaries as it seems you clearly never set one.

That being said, Canada is not for one person, so you can’t stop them from coming into the country, and by the virtue of their sibling being a permanent resident, they get points from him so you do not have a say in that decision and you cannot continue running if you want to make this work. All you can do is set your foot down about you not accommodating them in your house not even for a day should they ever land in Canada. You should be having this conversations with your husband about calling his family to order and ensuring you are respected as his wife. What does he think about all of this madness? To this day, I still don’t understand why some siblings are always in their married sibling’s business. Please read more about ways to set boundaries in a healthy way. If they successfully land in Canada, which country do you want to run to next? Show them a lirru bit of madness, let them know that you are not one to be messed with cheesy Stop being a push over for them. He doesn’t owe them anything, we seriously need to stop this bs of first sons or first born in general owing anybody anything. First born( Sons and Daughters) una doh ooo because it seems this life wey you come so, na life of responsibility grin
