We're still celebrating import and not production. We want them to produce here and offer us jobs as they do in China, Vietnam and Cambodia and not to sell to us. The CHEAPEST authentic Nike shoe is between 70-80 USD while ordinary slides cost like 30USD, imagine what we lose with each pay sold in Nigeria.

This not a nice development I must say.
Our locally made footwears products which a number of people are still patronizing might have less patronage now since Nike has now officially opened their store here in Nigeria.
I actually don't know why people keep saying Nice development, nice development...Okay, employment opportunities might abound there but our locally made footwears will now have less patronage than before.
Way to go, Nigeria.
Backward nigga,, that's what u are,,, what's stopping others from buying locally made footwares?
Or do u think it's everyone that can afford to buy Nike?...

I don’t see Nike opening a flagship store in Lagos as a good development for the Nigerian economy. But if Nike built a factory in Nigeria to serve as a production and distribution hub for the West African market, thousands of jobs would be created. And that would be a plus for the economy.
Re: Nike Opens Flagship Store In Lagos, Nigeria (Photos) by tonyashburton: 9:55am On Aug 26, 2022
These shoes are made in Southeast Asian countries for global export, thereby creating jobs for them.I'm certain if Nike and other athletic footwear brands partner with local manufacturers,we can have Airforce Ones made in Nigeria for local consumers and even for export.

tell ur self the truth, is now tinubu that brought this? Last i checked Sanwo-Olu is the current governor of lagos state.

No, it is Obiano that brought it. Asking me stupid questions.

The cameras are powered by the IPPs established during Tinubu's tenure. Others are solar-powered.
When we tell you about Masterplan, you argue.

Another set of import to kill the local market. We should be selling shoes to Nike nt importing from them. May Nigeria be great after 2023.
Tell the local market to upgrade their contents. They should stop manufacturing products not worth for export. Lets start from there first undecided

You really think their content is not quality? Then you do not know quality; What you buy is not quality but brand names.

When Nike opens in Onitsha we will consider Obi, but as for now it is the city boy Tinubu. He had the vision to convert that place your see which use to be a waste land at the Alausa secretariat into a gold. Show is what your Obi has done in Anambra State

very Bad development! they will sell in Naira and seek dollar to remit back to their parents company ! This what destroy the naira and cos spike in price ! they should set up a production line in ABA and source local materials here and teach our ABA people how to design and make quality shoe for local sale and export !

Okay, thanks wink

In all the mentions I received yours is the only reasonable one which I just learnt from.

You are right. But big brands like Nike, Adidas etc prefer Countries like Bangladesh, China, Thailand, Vietnam etc....Cheap labor.
Do you know that, doing business in Nigeria is kinda expensive? Poor electricity etc. Most foreign investors would rather go to south Africa
As a matter of fact, most of those products are made in those countries.

Nope.

FYI: Obi has done so many good works as a former Governor,

LISTING THE MERE ONES

Obi has much legacy on Anambra interms of "foreign investment, security, education, health, infrastructure, youth and employment, ANIDS' unlike your old god(Tinubu) who stole Lagos money through a bullion van.

Anyone still campaigning/supporting Tinubu needs 2 mental monthly checkup in the hospital.

Good one by Nike.
I only wish the government can support local athletic wear brands too. They have a lot to offer.

What's good about it like the product are for free, they doing their own business, creating employment for Nigerians may be the only advantage
