The types of passport issued in the regions are different.
Enhance ePassport (which requires validation of NIN via NIMC PORTAL and some other features) is yet to be rolled out in the Northern region of the country hence the low fees(old price)
While other regions have gotten the update and commence the issuance of new enhanced epassport.

Personal observation:
The old epassport is less secured(an individual can hold up to 5 ePassports bearing different names with same face, because it could be issued in proxy) but with the introduction of physical capturing and NIN linkage, it would be difficult to issue in proxy or have more than one ePassport at a time, so the capturing currently done in the northern region will be implemented later and all holders of ePassports processed there in those states (Northern region) would be called to come for the updated enhanced ePassport with a certain fee, which might end up been equivalent to the current processing fee of other regions by then or more, and as well it could be issued out for free at the will of the government in power then(in compensation of late implementation).

I have been in this last stage anytime I check the tracker since early May .
I captured on the 4th of May at Alausa for renewal o!
I have visited the center five times and they keep telling me not ready. DIY is not for the faint hearted.

NIS is corrupt beyond repair!
From minister to clearner in every centre especially in the south. Just that some centers get better PCO that still dey make dem get small small sense. Sagamu center is currently one of such less devil.

DIY is highly frustrating. If you don't have the patience just no bother.

My first post here, I lost my passport on transit and I've done police extract and court affidavit to that regards, now I saw on the immigration website that I can apply for re-issue based on lost situation. Now I was wondering because I saw here that there is application involved to be approved at Abuja or something but the online route doesn't state anything like that... everything amounted to 20k for booklet.

So I want to hear from the experienced guys here what's obtainable and the norm. Thank you

N/B I'm not in a hurry to get it... Even if it takes 2 months no problem so long it's in progress.

You dont need to go to Abuja, go to the nearest passport office near you. Nis official cum agents will help you out.

Thanks for your reply, so do I go ahead and kick start application by paying online and taking my print out to meet those NIS guys at the office or I should carry myself plus cash to them and sort it all out there ?

Please go to twitter and escalate, the people who did that came back to say thank you on their page. Tag Aregbesola, min of interior twitter page and everybody taggable else you will wait till Jesus comes. Your passports are ready, they are just holding on it. Very corrupt set of people.

I am a DIY applicant, my appointment is 8th of September, I am yet to sign the guarantor's form by the commissioner for oaths. Can I get it signed at the passport office in alausa on my capturing date?

Look for a high or magistrate court near you to help you stamp it ASAP. You can't do it at their office.

I just started my reissue application in Port Harcourt and I paid 50K cash to an agent to run it for me. Meanwhile what I saw on the paper of my biodata is 25k.

Gosh I vexed within me but I am beginning to see reasons why that amount.

6 weeks for PH for 32 pages and 5 years is 80k but if normal is 3 months and 50k. I would advise you involve a trusted agent if you have the money to run it for you sharperly

... Since when did you start the process? And how long do you think you'll have to wait to get your passport. I'm asking because I need my passport in 6weeks or less. I don't know if doing it myself or going to the office will be the best.

. If the price is 50k here in Lagos I will run it sharparly. Anything above that is a total rip off.

You can get a contact of an nis official or go to their office . Don't look too desperate.
