You’re talking as if she didn’t train and play Pre Season Friendlies with her Club, again They have played just two league games this season and she was on the bench.

Do you have a personal thing against Ogbonna?

Coz I don't see sound reasons for all your unnecessary trolling of this lass.

Let the lady rest.
Hahahaha…. I was only informing the Platform that she’s off to the US na.

List finally out

Disappointed

Addendum:

This is more like Nigeria team C at best. We don't even have enough player from the team that went to Morocco to make 11 good players (a makeshift at best). Some players however will finally get the chance to prove themselves. We have just 7 players in defence (including Imuran who was put on the forward list) so Ogbonna may likely feature. Onyi may likely see more game time in midfield too.

Na wa ooo... Okay ooo.

Just that you have been using this "una favorite leftback" a little too much lately when mentioning her. wink

Make una free am abeg. We know she sits last in quality in the hierarchy of Falcons LBs but singling her out occasionally as if she's the only underpar player isn't fair naa.

Calma Delta, Calma. grin

Prestige Friendlies: Super Falcons arrive Kansas City for clash with USA

Nine-time African champions, Super Falcons of Nigeria are in the United States of America on a two-match tour with the United States Women’s National Team, with the first of the two matches taking place at the Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas on Saturday, 3rd September.

Both teams, who have qualified for next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup finals in Australia and New Zealand, will have a go at each other’s jugular once more at the Audi Field in Washington, D. C. on Tuesday, 6th September.

Coach Randy Waldrum has picked four members of Nigeria’s U20 girls that reached the quarter finals at the just-concluded FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica, namely defenders Oluwatosin Demehin and Rofiat Imuran, and midfielders Esther Onyenezide and Deborah Abiodun.

Home-based professionals Christy Ohiaeriaku, Akudo Ogbonna and Gift Monday are also in the delegation.

First-choice goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, defender Osinachi Ohale, midfielder Toni Payne and forwards Rasheedat Ajibade and Uchenna Kanu will provide the spine for an interesting Nigeria selection.

The USWNT is the most successful team in the FIFA Women’s World Cup, having won half (4) of all eight championships competed for so far. The Stars & Stripes were champions of the very first edition in China in 1991, and then won on home soil in 1999, in Canada in 2015 and in France three years ago. The team has also won four Olympic women’s football gold medals and eight CONCACAF titles.

The Super Falcons have won the Women Africa Cup of Nations nine times, played in every edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup and also played at the 2000, 2004 and 2008 Olympic women’s football tournament. They remain the most successful women’s team on the African continent.

The Children’s Mercy Park is home to Kansas City in the US National Women’s Soccer League and Sporting Kansas City in the Major League Soccer, while Audi Field is utilized by National Women’s Soccer League side Washington Spirit and Major League Soccer team, D. C. United.

The match in Kansas City will see Vlatko Andonovski, appointed Coach of USWNT at the end of 2019, return to his home area for the second time. It is the sixth time that the USWNT will be playing at the Children’s Mercy Park but it is their first time at the Audi Field, though they have played 10 times previously in Washington – all at the RFK Stadium.

Andonovski says he’s excited to send out his girls against the Super Falcons: “First, I’m just excited to play two matches against Nigeria. They have some very talented players who will present a lot of different problems for us to solve on both sides of the ball.

It's becoming annoying really. You were scheduled for a friendly months ahead, but keep coming up with the same excuses. It happened with Canada, it's now happening with the USA. It shows the incompetence of those responsible for the team.
We have people on ground who are ever ready to defend the NFF in situations like this and make us believe that the ladies are enjoying the treatment and endorsed Pinnick for a third term cheesy cheesy

Given the circumstances, I'd say it's a manageable list.. the inclusion of the u-20 girls is a big plus.. It's certain they will get some minutes....

Even with a tweak in formation I'll still go with everybody on the list. If I'll play a 2-woman attack though, I may just substitute Gift Monday for Uchenna Kanu.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by JohnBullMySon: 10:57am On Aug 31, 2022
Hmmm. The midfield is something else. No Ebi No Ashleigh in defense. Wahala.

I would have preferred we call off this games because we're just going to lose the two legs in the US. No point. I don't know if Randy just like to rack up losses Sha grin
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 11:00am On Aug 31, 2022
Onyi Echegini AKA Pogba just need to take her chance right now, the Attacking Midfielder spot is open.

At this stage do you need Uncle Rita in Midfield?

The major issues right now is the availability of the Foreign Based players, This game was made public long ago, I’m still finding it difficult why NFF will always put the team in this kind of Visa Situations.. As if they didn’t plan ahead of the game.. it’s USA we’re playing against for Christ sake not Jamaica or UAE
US visas are very difficult to process right now, even if you have months in front of you. Even if you have a year.

If this was an isolated event, we probably would have made excuses for them, but it isn't. Happened with Canada too that is a lot more liberal visa wise than the US as long as you do it on time.

Also, this is supposed to be an invitational and we had months to sort this out. If we wanted to get this done we should have. How exactly does U-20 players with little professional experience (who just got back to Nigeria less than a week ago) get visas and professional players can't? Of course I don't have the full picture and can't claim that I understand fully what is going on, but the fact that this will put a dent in our rebuilding efforts is just sad.

This 2 formation is also Okay, but Randy may feature Amanda Mbadi to lock up the Midfield defensively with Christy Ucheibe going Box-2-Box and Tony Payne as Attacking Midfield while Echegini comes in as a Substitute for Mbadi, Ucheibe can the push back to DM with Tony and Echegini switching things in CM and AM

Abeg mk I leave Randy Job for him and e crew

Playing this defense against NWSL top scorer Alex Morgan, good strikers like Sophia Smith, Mallory Pugh, World best ball Crossers Megan Rapineo and Midfielder like Lindsey Horan.

This is tough, Ohale, Demehin and Co will be facing one of the toughest task as Defenders even though it's a Friendly game...

I think Canada is facing the same issue. It isn't due to politics but rather from COVID disruption. However, I'm not in NFF so I may not know the details of what is going on.

Very difficult, yet they were able to process Visas for those who just got back from Costa Rica and without a career outside Nigeria but can't do same for professional players??
