I need to watch Akanji well to rate him. However,

Right footed defenders City rating.
Akanji
Ruben Dias
Stones

Left footed
Laporte
Ake.

I see Akanji and Laporte pairing in the near future.
Akanji is not that good

You dey really try for here. No take this kain posts spoil your work now. Unless na cruise, there's no need resorting to this 'i am far smarter than you argument'. This is nairaland, not a peer-review journal. Have some fun.
TheSuperNerd:
You come here and you read only a few people with something smart, intelligent and educative to say and contribute to what will help push the need for quality upgrade in our national teams and then you also still encounter touts and id**ts disguising as analysts but with absolutely zero originality and peripheral gobbledygooks dishing out nothing but substanceless posts.

And ofcoz, guess who pulls the most crowd.. it is the "touts", the attention-seeking twats and the loud mouthed empty heads. Why? because we have a lot more of them also reading the thread so they just gotta relate to their fellow idi*ts. Pity.

Like Nigeria, Like this thread. We move.

Akanji is not that good
His specialty, however, is bringing the ball out from the back, be it via well-timed runs or long, accurate passing in a manner not too dissimilar to retired Anderlecht, Hamburg, Manchester City and Belgium defender, Vincent Kompany.

I could feel it just by looking at him. Manuel Akanji is the exact replacement of Vincent Kompany. If you judge him by just him defending, you will miss his quality. However, if you judge him fitting into Guardiola's unitary system, you will see we are likely landing a gem.

You can understand it by how important Ake is to us with his performance so far this season.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 8:33am On Aug 31, 2022
Everything is fun and cruise to most of you all even to the point of you being blind to the obvious.

People will come on here and drop muddled up nonsense on the few people contributing real substance to the thread and when they are given the heat in return and labelled for what they truly are, several of you all retreat under the "Cruise" umbrella.

Continue. grin

And there is no argument here. I am indeed wayyyy above the reasoning faculties of simpletons and touts disguised as thread members. I'm just stating the obvious. Nothing to argue there. And it definitely soils nothing. Good morning.

Oga Sub really,Akanji is a real ball playing defender that read the game very well, not a fighter, his game might look confusing, like why are they rating him, reason a good CB like Kevin Akpogunma find it so difficult breaking into eagles and player like Ekong is a super regular.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 8:40am On Aug 31, 2022
I think with Pep, it would come down to a question of tactical reference and which predominant qualities he would rather Start.

Ruben Dias' short passing quality and staunch defending OR Akanji's wider passing range (including long balls) and solid positional defending.

Time will tell.

Iwobi's assist @0.11s. Just Sumptuous. The Timing, the weight on the pass, the lines-breaking angle of the pass... An Assist worthy of winning a game. Too bad Everton shared the points.

Everton played with a 3-man midfield yesterday in a 4-3-3 proving my speculations right from their Carabao Cup fixture about Lampard’s potential initial plan. grin

With Gana Gueye coming in today... Iwobi, Gueye and one of Davies/Onana will likely be their starting 3 when they go with a midfield 3.

But one thing is certain... Alex Iwobi remains untouchable in that Everton midfield.

EPL is spoiling football business.

Based on statistics, Antony is more or less an Ejuke with lighter skin and younger age.

PSG acquired Soler for about €20!

It would have been €60+ if he chose England.
Although Antony knows how to shoot better, this is no far from the truth.

Don't think it's possible for a humongous deal like Ronaldo - Osimhen swap to be completed in 24 hours.

Transfer Deadline Day. Here we go!!!
So the deadline day for this season is September 1, not August 31.

It's happening.

Victor Osimhen at Napoli so far (all comps): Perfectly Balanced as it should be

65 apps, 30 Goals, 10 assists, 7 penalties won, 9 headers.

First half Goals - 15

Second half Goals - 15

A decisive force in both halves.

Next up is Lecce tomorrow. Which half will he score in? Time will tell. wink
Today, #OsimhenTime again.

15 goals in first half, 15 goals in second half in Napoli Colors.

Which half will he bag in today? 1st, 2nd or both? Time will tell. cool

One week until we witness these UCL nights... kiss

- Bassey vs Former Side, Rangers.

- Osimhen vs Liverpool (EPL Euro Mission Part 3 for Victor).

- Zaidu away at Simeone's Atletico Madrid.

- Ball-playing CDM Marvel, Raphael Onyedika vs Bayer Leverkusen.

- Fortune Akpan Bassey and probably the new buy from Kwara Utd up against Barca at Camp Nou.

I guess either the sociedad locals were wrong or I translated the tweet wrong.

Sadiq ACTUALLY joined Almeria for training today. Likely to head out for his medicals after talks are "properly" concluded later today.

Pic proof below...
