Maybe you should ask the professional players , Ayinde and okobi has been in Europe for long and always having visa issues while Ajibade has never have visa issues

Very difficult, yet they were able to process Visas for those who just got back from Costa Rica and without a career outside Nigeria but can't do same for professional players??

I think Canada is facing the same issue. It isn't due to politics but rather from COVID disruption. However, I'm not in NFF so I may not know the details of what is going on.

Of course I'm aware of the restrictions that came with COVID, but when you look at it critically you'll realise our shady approach to getting things done is largely responsible for this. The advent of COVID means you don't leave visa processing as last minute plans, you give the embassies enough time for this to be done. It's the same reason Nigeria was kicked out of the FIBA world cup. Australia needed the team list to sort out logistical issues as early as July and since Nigeria was on sabbatical they had to invite Mali.

NWSL OFFICIALS PENALIZED FOR ‘EGREGIOUS’ NO-GOAL CALL IN GOTHAM GAME

Sunday’s match between Angel City FC and NJ/NY Gotham FC brought an early officiating controversy.

While Angel City eventually won 3-1, Gotham appeared to strike first in the 12th minute. But while the ball clearly crossed the goal line, referees did not signal for a goal for the home team, to the dismay of Gotham players.

The Professional Referee Organization, which supplies the NWSL with referees, released a statement Monday about the no-call, calling it an “egregious officiating error.”
A goal was incorrectly not awarded to NJ/NY Gotham FC after the ball had crossed the goal line between the goal posts,” the statement said. “The match officials misjudged where the ball had crossed the goal line, and wrongly awarded a corner kick to NJ/NY Gotham FC.”

As a result, PRO said officials involved in the error have been removed from their next PRO assignments.

This isn’t the first time this season that officiating has been called into question, with former Washington Spirit coach Kris Ward among those calling out the NWSL’s officiating.

Most of PRO’s NWSL referees also work other jobs, and they do not have a collective bargaining agreement. The lack of CBA could change, though, with PRO announcing in July that it had withdrawn its appeal of the Professional Soccer Referees Association’s attempt to unionize.

The NWSL also has taken steps as a result of the critiques, with the league opting to introduce VAR during the 2023 season. The introduction of VAR would mean that no-goal calls like that on Sunday would go under review.

NWSL commissioner Jessica Berman called VAR the “single most important thing” that the league could do to improve officiating in the league, but also spoke about other steps the league is taking to improve officiating.

“Really, it’s not only VAR for next season,” Berman said. “We are taking a much more proactive approach in partnering with PRO so that our players, our coaches, our chief soccer officers start to increase their confidence with how this is being implemented and also have an opportunity to have feedback on ways that we can improve.”

Actually Nigeria was replaced with Mali because our government pulled out not because of any Visa issues.

I described our self-ban as sabbatical, but that wasn't the primary reason for our being replaced. Australia had a timeline they were working with and kept pressing FIBA to confirm our participation. It was because FIBA needed to stick to the timeline we got replaced, if not we lifted the ban in July and could still have participated in an event scheduled for September.

What he meant is that Australia who are the host nation wanted to sort out visa and logistics of all participating nations on time to avoid last minute rush so after Nigeria pulled out and were replaced by Mali, Australia had probably already started planning to have Mali as participants,so there was no way back in for us...

Anyway,under any circumstances, we will most likely loss to USA.. My concern is how they perform.. Perhaps the new crop of players especially the u-20 girls will offer something different...

Any idea why Flourish wasn't included in the squad? is it because of her engagement with Bayelsa queens at the ongoing WAFU tournament? or visa issues?

Also, I'm surprised Alani made the cut.. She wasn't really outstanding at the tournament...

I'm talking about how uncertain the squad looks. I don't understand what it has to do with the bolded. This squad surely was not the plan to face USA.

So
Waldrum is the one who should give players visas because he's close to US soccer or what? Visas are issued by Bureau of consular affairs under State Department US. Purely a government thing. US soccer is not a government organization.

You think that a normal person on his own accord will just hold down a list till three days to a game?
