Forget the corrolla man. He's not ready.. He can't be using the car one or two days, the only time he gets to see the car is if he wants to physically check it to assess how well you have been taking good care of the car.

Thanks boss. I appreciate.

Sincerely. That car overheated and must have burnt gasket. I wonder how people do that, as a driver you are supposed to be aware at all times especially in a situation like that. The temperature guage is there for a purpose. Even before the car goes off, the movement and sound would have changed as long as you are observant.

A vehicles temperature gauge works with the coolant temperature. If anything happens and you happen to lose your coolant rapidly, your temperature gauge may not rise. I agree that the movement will change before the car finally goes off but sometimes it's just too late.

The most important question even me cannot answer is, why do these Toyota vehicles easily burn gaskets and damage engines when they overheat.

I've had severe overheating issues with other brands of vehicles not Toyota and there was no issue with the gasket.

Great pilots, in the house.

Please I got a 2006 Camry big daddy on rentals on Bolt hustle. I agreed on 25k weekly remittance with the owner.

Since I am a first time user my question is as thus.

1. Who handles repairs.
2. Who handles servicing of the car. That's oil change and the rest.

Please your answers will be greatly appreciated.

How do you agree on weekly remittance on a hustle you're new to, without first finding out the details for what you're signing into?

It was around 530am, driving out of my estate, I noticed AC wasn't chilling as usual, quick stop to check, discovered fan was working.

Traffic was light, I opened the radiator cover slightly to let out pressure and at intervals I switch off the car and just cruise till the car slows down then start again. I shut down engine at traffic light, speed was also moderate.

One thing I am sure of is, even if I didn't realize on time, the car will shutdown by itself when the overheating is extreme.

Hello guys, I really need a sincere advise on this uber business. I have a car that I would love to put into use but the thing is that I won't be available to be driving the car myself.

I have read alot on this platform about making 60k per week. How feasible is it? how safe is it to also give out the car to someone else to drive without stories.

Your kind and sincere advise will be appreciated.

Thank you

Kindly chat me up let's talk, I may have an offer for you 08063394912.

You are right about rapid lose of coolant and temperature guage not rising. I had a similar experience in July.

I swam through flood that damaged my fan, the technician that came to replace the fan at home finished late at night around 9pm. Been that he wasn't familiar with the workings around the car, while trying to make the fan seat properly, he damaged the radiator coolant return hose, I didn't see it happen so he packaged it there.

Following day, I was out as early as 4am, got an Airport trip, driving out of the man's estate, car went off while making some funny sound, I cranked it twice before it worked. We continued, in less than 4mins, it went off again. Tried starting it didn't work. No rise in temperature on the dash but when I opened the bonnet, it was hot as hell. No drop of coolant left in the entire system.

I got water from a filling station close by, poured it and leaked out immediately that was when I discovered the mess that man created for me.

I allowed the car cool, packaged the hose and filled the radiator with water. I cranked the engine once and it came to life. Manage to drive it to my mechanic place to fix it properly.

I don't know why those Toyota engine works till gasket gets burnt. Even if the driver is careless, the car is supposed to shutdown before it gets to that stage. At least I've experienced the engine shutdown before causing in a Honda Accord and a Benz.

Perhaps rewire has tampered with the sensor that works for that. Who knows.

This hustle ehn, partners that can't take risk can't do it. People wey dey look their cars as if say na egg no fit. I appreciate everyone out there that can give out their cars to people to drive. And I give my kudos to drivers that handle their partner's cars with care and do not miss remittance.

My experience last week and this week while seeking a car to drive no be here.
I had to borrow money so I can deposit something, after everything, proposed partner changed his mind - his Dad likes the car. Chai! I don suffer o!

I had to call the people that borrowed me money and refund them with thanks. It's not easy for someone to borrow you money, -----they've run some people Street and rather than give their money out, e better make bank use everything do bank charges grin at least you know say na bank chop am----- but there are people with good hearts still no matter what.

I can't mention names, but thanks very much I appreciate you.

This is very similar to my experience as well.

I checked radiator, coolant level had slightly dropped. I topped it, entered the vehicle and zoomed to my Children's school to pick them. As soon as I entered my street on my way back, the vehicle started sounding funny and my RPM fluctuating like mad. Since I was already inside the street, I decided to manage it till I get to the house.

Just as I approached the gate, the vehicle turned off. I came down, opened the bonnet and lo and behold, I didn't return the radiator cap grin . In all of these, my temperature gauge did not move an inch.

I left the engine to cool, put in fresh coolant, drove it in. I called mechanic to inform him and he said my head gasket may have gotten burnt and I should check the colour of the oil for water mixture.

I checked, oil was still as it was. Nothing happened to the head gasket and the vehicle is still going strong till this day.

Someone on this forum who made the same mistake I made with a 2007 Toyota Camry had to replace the engine.

A very common cause. It dealt with me at alpha beach and lekki phase 2 axis, I had to dodge trips there last year. It happened to me somewhere at badore yesterday. I had to check my fuse box for the fan fuse, the fuse has cut. I had to change it with same amp.

Meanwhile, our electricians/rewire are wicked. My fuse box is almost messed up with wire joining angry angry
Some of the fuse compartments have already burnt. Either I get new fuses or I look towards complete change of the fuse box. This is what can make a car burn. Not that those tiny fuses are expensive.

Exactly, just yesterday I had to make one driver park.
The overheating have gone to the point that the car was even emitting heats from the hood yet the driver and his madam was forcing the car, I had to shout on them and tell them the already would have developed engine problem.
It saddens my heart when I see how people are careless with thier vehicles, because tomorrow another innocent buyer will inherit the wahala

You should have factored all these in before signing agreement. If it's a rental, on a normal, owner should be responsible for maintenance except little expenses like 1k, 3k, 5k or max of max 10k.

Servicing and other huge expenses should be done by the car owner or at least should be discussed.

In an Hired Purchase agreement, you are responsible fully for the car's maintenance once an agreement has been signed. Your responsibility is to keep the car in maximal shape at all times and you must not miss remittance. (I fear for people that make money and still default both on rental and HP)

So go back and discuss with the car owner but if you feel you can be servicing the car yourself, good but I won't advise it on rental. Discuss with the owner and ensure the two of you are on clear terms. Written and signed.

Goodluck!

Bro overheating get levels, no car enjoys overheating or will be smiling when it's been rugged home.
There's a difference between consciously driving a car with overheating wahala and not being conscious of the fact that car is overheating, I can drive my car without fans and still get home but an ignorant fellow would have gotten the gasket burnt several times.

I will never enter Lekki County again once it rains! That singular act made loose earnings for Sallah, all that long break I couldn't work.

Those fuses are one inexpensive item that canr send your car go where e no know. I almost burnt the Corolla I was driving when AC fuse cut and I bridge the fuse with wire; I used a flexible wire at first it cut instantly, my coconut head decided to double the wire. Couple of wires under the fuse box got burnt that night, had to visit rewire the following day to get the sorted.

When I got this present car, I made sure that all the fuse that had wires attached to them was removed and replaced with the right one.

That morning when I first discovered that there was no water in the system and with the way the car went off I wanted to faint.

Many thoughts ran through my head, I almost called Felicity at 530am to ask him how much be my c-class engine grin

I checked engine oil, no traces of water, poured water in the reservoir and looked under where it's leaking out from to see if there's trace of oil mixture with water, nothing. That was when I calmed down to access the situation fully. grin

Overheating is a terrible thing.
