Hello,

please I have a question. I have applied to update my BRP name to my married name but I haven't gotten a response yet and I am planning a trip to Nigeria.
The last name on my passport is my married name and the name on my BRP is my maiden name. Can I travel from UK to Nigeria and back with my marriage certificate and my passport and BRP which have different last names?

Many thanks for your help.

That's how it works for Form A. From USD first then to Pounds

OK thanks, my major challenge is the shortfall of amount. Instead of 1800,they made a transaction of 1500 pounds and then didn't send to my UK account but a new (dom) account they just opened in my name.

Good Afternoon Family

Got my student visa, trying to rent an apartment, even after providing Guarantor and paying deposit, the letting agency is requesting for a right to rent code.

I tried to do it online from this website [https://right-to-rent.service.gov.uk/rtr-prove/id-question] with my passport number and DOB.

It has been giving me error.

I suspect that the BRP number will work but I plan on securing the apartment before arrival so I can move in from the airport.

Anyone with experience on this should please advise me.

Regards.

For a family friend we couldn't do the share code online because she just entered uk and had not received her brp..

The letting agency said they can contact home office to verify and collected some details so that how we were able to solve it. The letting agent got the confirmation of right to rent from home office

Good evening. How's everyone doing? Need some advice. Got into the country 2weeks ago as a dependant. Gotten a place in harrow, settled the kids in school (college) so we're pretty settled. Thanks to all the advice from this group.

I have a viable business in lagos, so I plan to shuttle but I plan to pay some/most of my UK bills hopefully by generating the funds here in the uk. I haven't worked in an office in 15years so no skills per se. Been running my own business. Plan on going into hgv but it'll take time to get the necessary licences and permits. Can anyone please suggest something I can do that isn't care work. Responses will be greatly appreciated. Bless.

Since, you already paid deposit, let the agent know you not in town yet and when you intend to come in so you can pick up your BRP and provide them with the RtR code.
I Hope they will be patient to hold the apartment down till you come sha.

The top 4 jobs announced today all went to non white . I think UK deserve some credits in diversity

Dear Family,

My wife is urgently in need of a room to rent in Derby or Nottingham for 3 months. Mondays to Fridays availability is also OK.

Any temporary arrangements for the next two weeks is also welcome.

Please let me know if you have or know anyone who may have a room available for rent.

Thanks

I hope she's more competent than Boris. I really wanted Rishi to win. He sounded more competent and credible.

Everyone knows this but the English are not ready for a brown skin prime minister. Even if the party had chosen him they will loose the general election. Those two Uncle Sam they gave positions are just for camouflage.

Sadiq Khan became mayor of London because he is?

London is a multicultural society. They also voted against brexit.

So no white person voted for him? Conservatives are all white?

Londoners voted for him.

I think he is useless as a mayor of London but that’s just my opinion. It’s always one excuse or another.

That is not extreme but lets leave that aside.

This willingness to pick up a race card at every given situation is really uncomfortable.

My Oga it is obvious the choice of Lizz as against Sunak was a tilted a little bit by the race factor. Nobody is playing race card.
Sunak is not the best candidate, however sunak is better than Lizz. (In my opinion)

Haven’t you noticed over the last few years how the fair-right propaganda and agitation is gaining momentum all of we Europe?..

We can’t sweep the facts underneath the table.

I work with a lot of enlightened English people and we are able to have conversations surrounding race and they all agree that if Mr Khan was in a place like Winchester, he wouldn’t be a mayor and skin colour matters in certain top positions E.g prime minister of Britain.

It’s the obvious truth, I just don’t know why some people especially some blacks can’t see it. When the whites can see it. Some people ( Uncle Toms) need to wake up and smell the coffee.
