My Uncle died at Opi in June 1967. A fresh mint graduate of UNN, drafted into the civil war to defend the University town of Nsukka.

Any time Opi is mentioned, his smiling face flashes in my memory. On our way to UNN with my Dad in mid 90s for admission then, he gave me the detailed history of the great battle at the Opi Junction, where his brother was killed by the advancing Federal troops.

I think the great Christopher Okigbo and Major Kaduna Nzeogwu also died in the battle of Opi-Nsukka.

Anyway, Enugu state, the state which once had only Enugu as a modern city, is adding Nsukka as 2nd due to gov Ugwuanyi from Nsukka zone..

In Imo, the present governor who comes from Orlu zone has indirectly paralysed or closed the city of Orlu since March 2020.. In Orlu: Stadium is closed, fire service station closed, markets closed, even the city roads built by former governors are closed. The governor has been enjoying the situation.

If you understand economy very well, you will know that savings is very important for stability, precautionary and speculative reasons. Obi Anambra savings made Anambra a healthy State that was why before Buhari released bail-out funds to the states Anambra was the only state that was able to meet up her salary obligation. If the successive federal government had saved for the nation naira will not be at free fall the way it's today.we really need Peter Obi to come and reposition this country.
