I’ve experienced this too but that was during sars era , the werey say if I no open my phone that I will regret the day I was born that he will kill me and nothing go happen. SO is there nothing like witness statement? and if the Judge deemed it fit plus the accuser's lawyer deemed it fit for cross examination ask witnesses to come to court?

Bro , we dragged this matter for over 1hr for old road,
I felt bad everyone was minding their businesses then.

He was dragging me to gutter near their hiace bus and still trying to get hold of my phone ( the phone didn’t fall but broke plus ink cos of mishandling.) , bro I stood my ground ,. He said if he should take me to ‘station’ I will regret the day I was born .. and I knew of cases of people that got killed and dumped in process of following dem to station . I was already creating a scene and most guys coming down from buses and bikes from the other side took another route, that means I’m spoiling the day job for dem.


I was coming from Lagos I came down from bus, and I followed the old road , they scattered themselves at car park their so basically you can’t escape it. And they held down so many guys too but i didn’t pay attention when I got down from bus. Had I know, I for come down for iyana oja.

One of the his colleagues came over to me and said I should just find him something . It’s getting late, He seized my bag ( which contained my school docs, I for leave am run ) he asked me to go and use pos, those pos for iwo road said dem no Dey accept transfer , so he asked me to send the money to one agbero for that iwo road( I later realized they were working together as they did get their cuts too) .. I was traumatized bro



But now bro, except it’s midnight or sharp corner , I no go give shishi. And if na travel road and I carry my own car, I go use am cross road put the key inside my blockos

But now I doubt if I can be stopped unnecessarily sha, cos I look so funny, mature and manly

All witnesses in "Criminal cases" MUST make statements to the police that will be attached in the case file that is tendered in court. When any witness(es) is shown into the witness box in court and upon taking an oath to say the truth by whatever he/she believes in, the statement they made to the police is shown to them, they go through it and affirm that the signed it, it is accepted and tendered as an exhibit in the cause of the case @hand

PPRO wouldn't have mentioned "her lawyer" if there's no intent of getting to court.

you are Assuming 2much, I k now this cos I have been in court as a witness B4 more than two occasions. Even the accused do not have to be on the dock if his barrister advise them not to do so for fear of cross examination and the prosecution lawyer cant force them. Witness do not have to give written statement to the Police however they will tender a witness statement to their defence lawyer who in turn will 4ward every evidence they have to the prosecution's between when they are going fru their legal argument the judge can mandate the witness to come and give evidence live or via phone or video link. When I came to 9ja to give evidence I did not give or report to police any of my written statement, it was only handed to our company lawyers who gave a copy to the barristers on court day.I have gone fru this two times so please stop this assumption and if you think I am talking fru my backside ask a barrister not a lawyer a barrister not just a lawyer cos lawyers do not talk in court they take notes.

Well like I said, PPRO never mentioned her being detained nor arrested, But that she would appear in court does not mean one is under detention though.

It's a darm bailable Offence & if she has a reliable surety to produce her when demanded, she will definitely be granted bail. The trend of recent is that if any video involving police personnel goes viral, the issues end in court, not assumptions, facts!
Let's wait while fingers are crossed, I could be wrong though.
