If there's anyone here that's a hater it is you. The only reason you changed your tune was because we returned the same thing you initially dished out here. We can never allow you outsiders hijack this thread. Anambra shall continue to be the best and most developed state in igboland to the envy and frustration of you miscreants.

Nwannem stop replying that guy, u are giving him too much attention, just post good stories about Anamrba here and let's continue to show our growth. Obviously, he is an Igbo hater and not an Igbo person. He has created multiple accounts to spam numerous Pro Igbo threads here.THe more u engage him the more he spams the thread. Just ignore him and keep posting the good things ongoing in Anambra

I think SE governors should come together to fund and build Igbo Resort/Research Centers which will have a headquarters in a chosen state and a branch in all Igbo land.

I like this design that a good Nwafor did, but it can be better and bolder. A design that has good tall and bold buildings will do the magic.

If one is to be built in Anambra, I will like it to sit on the bank of the Niger River.

He is on a failed mission, Alaigbo is growing and moving in a fast pace.

Nwannem, I can't stand dishonest people with ulterior motives.

That bum is not here to contribute to Anambra growth. He was Ngige's town crier and campaigned against Obiano, who was Obi's candidate. I know his history on this Nairaland.

He had long ceased to attack Obi because Edo and South South boys humiliated him on the threads where he goes to attack Obi's candidacy....lmao

Take this suggestion to your backward abia state. Anambra has 5 star Agulu Lake resort, Enugu has Nike Lake resort, Imo has Oguta Lake resort. It is only Abia that's lagging behind in the whole of igboland. Igbos should Join hands together to colonise abia state, if not the state will continue to be an embarrassment to the Igbos.

MARKING SIX MONTHS IN OFFICE, SOLUDO FLAGS OFF ADDITIONAL 60.34 KILOMETERS OF ROADS IN ANAMBRA

By Christian ABURIME

As part of activities marking his sixth months in office as Governor of Anambra state, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has continued to demonstrate commitment to duty and campaign promises made, by flagging off the construction and rehabilitation of about sixty point thirty four (60.34) kilometer of more roads across the state.

The event began by flagging off the rehabilitation of the twenty six (26) kilometer Awba-Ofemili-Amansea road which will be completed within a record time of sixteen (16) months.

Another road flagged off by the Governor was the 26.4 kilometer Amansea-Ndiukwuenu-Awa-Ufuma road which will be completed in four (4) months.

The six hundred (600) meter stretch Isu/Igbo, Isuofia/Igboukwu section of the Ekwulobia/Nnobi Road, popularly called 'Isu/Igbo river was not left out as well as the seven point seven-nine (7.79) kilometer Akpaka to Basilica road, Onitsha North Council Area.

While the Isu/Igbo road will be completed in four months time, it is projected that the Akpaka road will be completed by May, next year.

According to a pact signed between the state and all the contractors, the roads are built to have at least a minimum of twenty years life span.

Governor Soludo also assured that from Awba-Ofemili, his administration will build a bridge across to Ayamelum. He equally said his government has a commitment with Awka North which he is bound to fulfill.

"I'm so emotional about this place. We even have the road we are designing that will pass through Isuaniocha to Urum and so on. The reason this Amansea to Awba-Ofemili road will take such a long time to complete is because the contractor wants the work to be done on dry stone base.

"Today, we are six months in office and as partners, we need your input in terms of advice and otherwise. I still remember that Ebenebe woman and other people who refused financial inducement during the election".

"Eventhough there is dearth of funds, we are committed to build these roads and more." Governor Soludo reassured

Speaking on the strategic importance of the Amansea-Ndiukwuenu-Awa-Ufuma Road, Governor Soludo explained that with the road in place, Orumba North and South can get to Awka within minutes instead of running round.

In his words: "During the campaign, we went round Orumba, namely; Awa, Ajali, Umunze Nanka, Ezira, and the rest to ask for votes. We say thank you. The All Progressives Grand Alliance is the heritage of Ndi Igbo that should be cherished and nurtured. Ndi Igbo should unite under this party."

Governor Soludo further said, "I've come back to your place because this is a promise given and will be fulfilled. Hopefully, I'll come back through here to Amansea by end of December."

Continuing, the Governor said, "I make special mention of the late Joe Anatune of Awa. He was one big iroko that we lost who believed in the Anambra project. For two years, he relocated to Isuofia, working on it. Before his demise, the late Joe envisioned the Anambra of our dreams. And so we are determined to keep working for he did not die in vain", added the Governor.

"As for the Isu/Igbo Isuofia/Igboukwu section of Ekwulobia/Nnobi road, the Governor said, "this is more like an emergency river. It is man-made. I heard people say that for doing the road, I've recognized that charity begins at home, no. We are actually doing charity from outside in this case. We came to make disruptive change in Anambra."

"Over the next two months, we will be flagging off many roads. But we just began with the strategic ones. We will do this road in two phases. In addition to whatever we are already doing here, we are exploring phase two which is the longer term intervention of channeling the flood water collected here to Agulu lake. And mind you, most of these roads are federal roads. Our people are suffering and we can't continue to wait for the federal. We will continue to fix them, as much as funds allow us". Governor Soludo further reassured

Continuing, the Governor decried the rate at which people arbitrarily erect buildings in public places in Onitsha.

Said the Governor, "sadly, Onitsha was left to die, while people started moving to neighbouring states. That's why we started from clearing and cleaning up the place. We are working on the greater Onitsha water scheme because Onitsha must rise again"

"We promised Ndi Anambra and we've started to gradually take back and deliver our state. We are desilting Nwangene to free the blocked drainages and water paths. There is another road, off Awka road to Trans Nkisi, we are coming", concluded Governor Soludo.

The Commissioner for Works, Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma said that the contractors assured to deliver a road project that has the durability of nothing less than twenty years, explaining that fifty percent of the contract sum have been mobilised for the contracts.

The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi; Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief Protocol officer to the Governor, Hon Chinedu Nwoye (Glamour) and Transition Committee Chairmen, stakeholders and members of the communities visited among others, were present at the event, which witnessed handover of the site certificates to the contractors.

Anambra bans wearing of mini-length uniforms in school

Anambra state has banned the wearing of mini-length uniforms in schools across the state.

The Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma Udeh made this known during an interactive meeting with Education Secretaries of public and mission schools held at ASUBEB hall, Awka.

The Commissioner condemned the growing trend of putting on mini-length uniforms in schools, saying it goes against the acceptable dress code for schools in the state.

According to the Commissioner, a student should look smart, well-groomed, project positive vibes and not be indecently dressed for school.

She added that the acceptable length for uniforms in the state remains knee length and not above the knee as is fast becoming the norm.

The Commissioner charged the Education Secretaries to ensure schools comply with the directives and salvage the future of umu-akwukwo Anambra.

You are the foundation. you control the formative years of the children

Let us infuse the right morals and discipline in students so they grow to be rational human beings, showing them there is more to life

If we fail to get it right at this stage, we have failed to protect the future of the children, she said.

The Education Secretaries met with the Commissioner to discuss the way forward as the next academic session commences on the 19th of September,2022

The magnitude of roads construction this man is embarking on is mind blowing. You can tell there was a clear plan and direction that is based on purpose. He is tackling the most strategic projects; desilting of Nwangene, dredging of Sacamori, greater Onicha water scheme, and the massive swoop on important economic and federal roads. There is definitely hope in the horizon.

I am also glad Soludo understands that for Anambra to truly move forward Onicha must go through rebirth. Order and sanity must return to Onicha; no illegal trading, no indiscriminate building of houses and stalls, no dumping of refuse in places not designated for it , no dropping and picking of passengers on the road. If we can fix Onicha and reposition it , we will reap the benefits in igr because the quality of life will improve ,which will attract more businesses and of course taxes will have to increase.

Long overdue. Indecency must not be tolerated. It exposes our children to early sexual experiences which affects their learning and growth.

All these energy you are spending on trying to de market Peter Obi with your lies and propaganda will never earn u any recognition or reward rather you are making yourself look ugly.

Where is your proof that Peter Obi left Anambra with 120 billion debt

Where is your proof that he invested Anambra money into his family business

Where is ur proof that the 20m investment is now worth 5m

Keep on fooling urself, in this life and in ur next life I can't and will not match Peter Obi achievements in life. U are busy talking about ur fellow man who have achieved so much in life and u are trying hard to be relevance by talking about him. Are you not ashame of urself.

Obiano didn’t anyone to confide with on how he built Anambra Airport, it’s Taraba Governor? That’s how you liars deceive yourselves. You are celebrating fake news out of desperation since you can’t point to any legacy project done by your petty Theive Peter Obi.
Soludo who took over from Obiano said the 20 million Obi claimed he invested is only worth 5 million today why are you idiots not mentioning that one but celebrating fake news from your brother Taraba gov?
You can see a bridge on the mmiata road already completed by Obiano with Soludo now continuing with the adjourning roads, is the bridge also part of the fake savings? [/quote]

globemoney01:

Yes we have proof of the savings like the one he denied below. The so called savings he bought for Anambra Govt and his family with Anambra money was left untouched by Obiano. As you can see Soludo said the investment is now worth 5 million which means Obiano never touched the money. And still left with the money intact. If Obiano was a crook like Peter Obi he would come out and say he left 5 million dollars for Soludo. Criminals

Igbo behind insecurity in Anambra – Soludo

The Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, has explained why insecurity and kidnapping are rife in the state, saying the economic situation of Anambra among South-East states made it a target of criminals.

He said that with the spate of insecurity in the state, his administration has put in place numerous measures to end the menace.

Soludo who stated this on Sunday during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today, maintained that those perpetrating criminalities in the state are Igbo.

The former Central Bank of Nigeria governor also stated that contrary to claims, those perpetrating criminalities are known and not unknown as being reported in the media.

“They are plain criminals. Some of these criminals also hide under the cloak of agitation but IPOB has repeatedly distanced itself from the criminals.

“They are kidnappers and plain criminals and they indulge in these because it is lucrative. Anambra is without a doubt the richest state in the South-East so this is the state where kidnapping has the highest value and so you will have their highest concentration here.

“If you have an Okada rider who goes into the bush; learns how to shoot, and joins a criminal gang after which they kidnap someone and make millions, it won’t be easy convincing such to go back to his Okada business anymore.

“But we are decimating them. They are not unknown gunmen, they are unknown to the extent that maybe are not caught immediately. But I can tell you we’ve been catching quite a lot of them and they already know that Anambra is not safe for them anymore.

“Let me be clear about it, 100 per cent of the people we have caught are Igbo. There is no hoax that somebody is invading from somewhere. It is 100 per cent Igbo on Igbo.

“Anambra receives its proportional share of an influx of Igbo from other South-East states and other parts of Nigeria. At the initial stage when we stage and the first set of people we caught are Igbo from the South-East states and not from Anambra. But as we went on, we discovered that a whole lot of the youth are joining them and we have not disguised among them, we are dealing with them equally,” Soludo said.

On his effort to nip insecurity in the bud, the governor maintained that several operations are ongoing to correct the anomaly, adding that Anambra residents are now enjoying relative peace.

“The 8.5 million residents in Anambra can testify to you that insecurity has come down to the barest minimum. At least, in the last three months, cases of insecurity that seem to be daily affairs have come to a halt.

“We have decimated criminal gangs and their infrastructures and I don’t think they have the capacity again to come with the kind of ferocity they have in the past.

“Anambra has been relatively peaceful recently and we are pursuing a peaceful agenda. Compared to many other places in Nigeria, I will say if we have to have the statistics in the last three months, I think Anambra will compete favorably as one of the safest comparatively.

“We are not relenting. The operations are ongoing. Many communities are now at peace and having their new yam festival celebrations and these are things that weren’t possible in the past. Millions of events are also taking place simultaneously.

“However, insecurity won’t disappear overnight. It took years for them to take root and build about 15 camps all over the 8 local governments. Their activities won’t disappear in three months. But we are not relenting, we are putting in all our efforts and we are determined to make Anambra safe and secure for the residents and businesses,” he added.
