TheGuyFromHR:

Salford is a city that is part of Greater Manchester, just like the city of Manchester itself is also part of Greater Manchester. In terms of physical location, Salford is just next to Manchester, and is now part of a continuous developed area, but they were distinctly separate cities in the past.

To understand better, look at it the same way as Lagos, the city and metropolis, is part of Lagos State. Now, imagine that urbanisation in that part of Nigeria had been joined up such that places like Mowe, Ibafo, Sango Ota, etc. formed a continuous development area with the city of Lagos (as they should), and all those places had been removed from Ogun State and placed under a separate administrative authority called Greater Lagos.

Thanks for the detailed explanation boss

Bro, is Salford not in Manchester?
Salford is a council in Greater Manchester smiley. There’s also a Manchester Council. Bolton, Wigan, Rochdale, Oldham etc are councils under Greater Manchester.

Hello, please do you have any idea about late enrollment or deadline for late arrivals in your school? I am asking for someone who just got his visa and is told enrollment deadline is 26th of September.

Hello guys, I need advice please.
I am done with Uni and want to start applying for fulltime jobs in my field. However, my husband has a job offer already but yet to get COS cos of employment checks. I just have 3 months left before my Visa expires and my dilemma now is if my Visa status will be a problem if I pass the interviews. Can I explain that I necessarily dont need visa sponsorship from the Company cos I plan to switch my visa soon? Or should I wait till we successfully switch Visa before I start applying for jobs. Really confused and scared of being turned down cos of my present status.

At the bolded, virtually no HR department will accept that.

However, not every employer who might be willing to sponsor will state that in a job ad, it is very possible that an employer might decide to sponsor post-job offer after assessing the candidate's immigration status. On the other hand, for an employer who is not willing to sponsor, virtually no-one will employ you with 3 months left on your current visa and absent any evidence of a pending application for its renewal or replacement. The decision is really yours to make.

Again, recruitment generally takes a bit of time between the advertising of the vacancy, and the shortlisting and invitation of candidates for interview, so depending on where your husband's background check has progressed (these things usually come back after max 1 month), you could have some applications in and progressing with the expectation that your husband's COS will have come out and you guys will have put in your Tier 2 applications by the time a potential employer is conducting a right to work check.

Start applying immediately. If asked about Visa and the company you're applying to isn't willing to sponsor, just state that you're entitled to a 2-year PSW Visa which you should be activating when your current visa expires. Hopefully, your husband's clicks before then. You don't need to mention your husband's visa till it clicks. I know, first-hand, that this works.

This is the problem I have with a lot of students going to study in the UK. For example, I know for a fact in my class, more than 70% of them can’t get a job with the degree because they have no idea of what they are studying. It infuriates me a lot.

And when I ask them why this course, didn’t you check it out before applying, are you telling me you didn’t go through the course modules explained in details on the university website before applying? They take it really really personal.

Imagine a class where almost 50% are having one resit or the other in just a semester, and then some resitting three to four modules in one semester.

It really touches my soul because I have no idea what they will do after the course after spending so much money to get degree that they can’t use.

@Munamoqel
So this is where you picked up another debate point of yours to your dead thread as usual.
Your job is to go about on NL looking for things like this to talk about, yet your Hypocritical self is out in the open as one who tried to apply again to 3 different countries without headway..
You should be tired of always stressing down on people JAPA plan.
Always drinking Panadol for others.

It is left for who want to japa to use their head to know what is best for them and job demands of that country. But talking down on people not to JAPA is a disease.

The same UK everyday, is where you claim to have schooled. E b like them deport you, cos I don't understand your level of bitterness.
I quoted this post just to answer that munaMF.

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know what happens if you get the PSW visa and subsequently move into Skilled Worker? Specifically, will you have to pay the IHS fee all over again for the 2 years?

Also, can anyone please link back to the place where someone here recommended a mortgage advisor?

Thanks!

Guys, is this Police clearance certificate an important criteria to find a job? Cuz some people are saying otherwise. Every penny counts right now and I can’t afford to waste any.

Anyone already in Uk should please shed more light

From the OP's comment, she is hoping her husband's COS go come soon so dem no go need to do PSW, which makes sense.

Apply anywhere you want, but if you get to the stage where you have to show right to work, don't mention your husband level, because them go bounce you. Instead if una never apply for Tier 2 by then, mention PSW, whether or not you intend to apply for it.

Why wait in hope for CoS when you're entitled to PSW already? Any special benefit?

Will the stay not become illegal if the PSW is not activated and the CoS does not come as expected.

The special benefit is that on Tier 2 you are on the 5 year route to ILR, while on PSW you are on the 10 year route.
As she still has 3 months to go on her Tier 4, obviously, they can wait for up to that 3 months for the COS to appear, and if for some reason it delays that long, then she can apply for the PSW. The entitlement to the PSW no go expire until the Tier 4 visa expires.

Like several people have mentioned, Start applying, when it gets to the part of immigration checks mention that upon expiration you would active your 2 year graduate visa. Hopefully by then your hubby COS has pull through.
