You dont even know what's going on. See bro if you can japa, please run away. Nigeria is spoiling ooo. Its gradually detoriating. Live all the big big grammer politicians are using. Salaries of govt workers that used to look big before has been reduced to rubbish. Imagine someone who earned 200k when rice was 7,500 a bag with now thats 30k a bag or when a bag of cement was 1,700 now its 4k or then when fuel was N45 or even N85 to now that its N185. Let me give a practical example notice all those neighbors wey dey run diesel 24/7 for my area gen no the dey on for long again. Some business are now using big fuel gen instead. Even if Disel is high, dosent it mean they arent makimg enough profits to maimtain running disel anymore. I wonder how banks are currently faring. I see a future where alot of private entities will downsize massively. I fear that soon families won't be able to afford good accommodations. Anarchy is looming. Soon there would be a rise in discontent. Before majority where enjoying while minority suffered but now minority are enjoying while majority suffer. The funny part is that politicians will tell you Nigeria is doing well. I fear for the repercussions soon to follow. RenaissanceGuy: |

GoodSerpent:Salaries are increased. Petroleum products goes up thereby triggers increase in transportation, food, and other essential services. Few months workers will start demanding for another salary increment. That temporary fix isn't working. |

On a wild goose chase, once again! They jettison reality for fantasy! Na dia way; the APC way! The reality on the ground is the high cost of production which is reflected on the prices of goods and services. We are more of an import based economy than production based and are tied to the USD which in turn affects the economy. Of all the members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), only Nigeria imports refined oil products after first exporting its crude oil. The solution is to bring down prices of goods and services by improving on production. At this stage, salary increments would be counterproductive in the long term with large sums of money buying few goods and services. The less the demand for the US dollars, the more robust the naira would become. The ripple effect would make the naira rebound thereby bringing down prices of goods and services. My candid opinion! |

Petersamuel8:People don't like to hear the truth. The sensible thing to do is to overhaul the civil service for maximum delivery This would involve savage cuts to the bloated civil service but should involve a pay rise for them to put in their best. In Singapore, the best paid employees are civil servants. The government needs to bring inflation down to 5% or less. The government should have an inflation target of 3-5% annually and achieve it. Lastly, the country should adopt the German system of increasing workers salaries influenced by the level of inflation. For instance, if inflation was 2%, salaries would be increased by 2.5% across board. That means that salaries have increased by 0.5% in real terms. Ngige should not also berate other states that have not implemented the ₦30,000 minimum. The American system where each state decide their minimum wage is the way to go. It would be ridiculous to expect ₦30k in Lagos and Bornu carry the same value. Also, state purses are also different. |

Best way to solve inflation is to reduce costs of good. And also improvement in the dollar-naira exchange rate. |
