Daniel Bwala: Wike playing God — PDP will survive if he leaves

Daniel Bwala, a spokesperson for the Atiku Abubakar presidential campaign, has accused Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers, of playing the role of God in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Bwala spoke on Friday during an interview with Channels Television.

Over the past weeks, the PDP has been enmeshed in internal wrangling as the Wike and his allies are calling for the resignation of Iyorchia Ayu, the party’s national chairman.

The crisis in the party took a new turn on Friday when Wike, during a media chat, claimed that Ayu received N1 billion from one of the presidential hopefuls in the party.

Reacting to Wike’s comments, Bwala said the Rivers governor usually describes those who refuse to agree with him as “betrayers”.

The lawyer, who recently joined the PDP, accused Wike of frustrating the zoning of the party’s presidential ticket to the south-east because he wanted to contest the presidency.

“In the past, he mentioned people like the entire governors of the south-south, when he said his own brothers betrayed him,” he said.

“Before then, he had also said governors in the south-east betrayed him at some point.

“He had in the past said David Umahi and Ben Ayade who left the party for APC betrayed him. It appears to me that everybody around him has betrayed him as long as he does not have his way.

“If I take you back memory lane, you will agree with me that all the past chairmen, at least three or four, he brought them and there were times when he had a problem with them, he insisted that they had to go. So, why is it that everybody is betraying you in life?

“Political party is a party for everyone. Let me tell you something about life, because he is a Christian. I will probably have the luxury of quoting the scripture, otherwise, I will consider the sensitivity.

“You know the scripture says God gives power to whosoever he will. It is good to be rich and to be helpful, but the one thing that God doesn’t share is when you begin to take His place.

“How do you take the place of God? When nothing moves except you are in it, except you direct it? I will give you an example. He talks about equity, fairness and justice that has become the cliche and the hallmark of his campaign.

“In his state, the chairman of the party and the governorship candidate are from the same senatorial district. In his state, the very individual that decided to pick a form to run for senate when he had not given the approval, what happened to the person? He was held in custody.

“At every material time that the party took decisions, at least in the last few times that we know, they were decisions that were taken in the belief that Wike should have his way. That is why I said it is not good to play God.”

Bwala added that the PDP will survive if Wike leaves the party.

“From the look of things, it is just Wike. The flagbearer has never said anything and has said nobody should insult him. Ayu and Atiku are founding members of the party. Even though they left, they still had to come back,” he added.

“Let me tell you why you cannot play God. Atiku left the party, it survived; Ayu left the party, it survived; if Wike leaves, the party will survive.”

Hmm
Wike will remain in PDP to help destabilize it. We will be happy to see Atiku lose again. It's the time for Southern Nigeria to produce the President. Wike's brinkmanship is likely a handiwork of God.

I think Wike should leave PDP at this point, though that's highly improbable because he feels like he's invested so much in the party

With the look of things, wike will retire Atiku permanently. He will play the SPOILER. The northern politicians started the betrayal, so they should enjoy what they sow.
The biggest loser will be okowa and that Edo sleeping governor. They were the moles in the southern governor's forum. I believe all their secret meetings agenda and sensitive information would be transferred to the Atiku camp. Wike may be a talkative and careless talker, BUT he has a good point defending the southern plan. Tinubu saw it coming, he fought it out with the cabals trying to impose another northerner. Same as Obi too.
Atiku never saw Obi movement coming. He would have played dirty politics with him until he loses LP ticket.
Do me I do you. No second-class citizens again. Atiku will struggle to get 25% in any southern region talkless of block votes that can boost his northern scores. Remember, they all need 25% in at least 2/3 of the 36 states, and also must have the highest numbers of votes in the election.
Who will likely get that? Not Atiku this time around. They will spoil SS, SE and part of SW for him. That's more than 12 states already. Atiku will seriously struggle. If he looses Borno, kastina , kano and Kaduna, then bye-bye to his political career. Wike too can go and enjoy his loot silently unless they will repay him at the appropriate time.

Very senseless talk from a senseless analyst. Why didn't he ask Wike to leave the time Atiku left? so we would have seen if there would still be PDP as a national party in 2023.

I feel irritated when I see people who can't even win a ward in their constituency, coming out to say nonsense against Wike. A man who stood with audacity and conquered federal might when it tried to meddle in Rivers politics! A man who has the loudest opposition voice amongst Southern politicians! A man who has made the whole of Nigeria to regard the voice of the south especially Rivers State! If we had 7 of Wike in the south, would those fulanis not treat the south as Royalty?

Then one idiot who is not worth to be in the room where men are mentioned, would come out and start spewing trash against Wike!

Ungreatful Bush pig!

Wike is a House fly that thinks himself Eagle..

They loquacious imp thinks Pdp revolves round his ugly face.. and they party owes him ..

Olboy decamp and test your popularity in Nigeria .. let’s see where all this mouth reach..

Staying in the party to cause havoc in your state is cowardice..
delivering your state elections to same Ayu Chairman led pdp while stAlling the federal election is most stupid of it all.

Stand alone like Obi and Kwankwanso and merit your reward..

In the street they say show your ruggedity and merit it.. no be excess cap.

Wike Na Loud mouth .. empty vessel

What’s the worst he can do..

Suppress Pdp votes .. in Rivers stAte alone.
Is Tinubu sure of Lagos state or Kano state?

what about LP? SDP?

The River line ijaws how he wan take appease them after all insults .. will he force obiakpor his lg.. to vote.. all Wike can do is to rig, and suppress votes

Free and fair in Rivers state .. Wike won’t influ nada...

Power to the people
North 2023

Yoruba media giving Wike highlights to trend.. no mean say Tinubu will get 20% from rivers .

Atiku has no opposition... if Na by Wike noise.

The permutations for this election is very complex. No one candidate will have an easy ride.

For the first time, we have an Igbo, Yoruba, and Hausa candidate contesting.

Two Muslims, one Christian.
Two Southerners, one Northerner.

Muslim votes will be shared between Tinubu and Atiku.

Southern votes will be shared between Obi and Tinubu.

Northern votes will be shared between Atiku
(Muslim North) and Obi (Christian North).

There will likely be a runoff election where the candidate that comes 3rd will be key to help the 1st or 2nd to win.

Wike is not defending any Southern plan. He's only pained that he was beaten at his game.
If he was so interested in Southern plan, when the ticket was asked to be micro-zoned to SE, why did he refuse it? At least that would have ensured moneybags like him and Atiku who want to buy the ticket would be out of the way and the fairest thing would have been done
Ortom was chairman of the zoning committee. Gana was also there. Why didn't they zone it to the South?
Besides, can Wike even win the election in reality if he emerged candidate?
I am very sure if he emerged, APC wouldn't bother giving their ticket to Tinubu, they'll just give to osinbajo or Amaechi because Wike is a small political fry

Killing which political career?

I like what he’s doing.

After 2023, the north will know that they are not the almighty they see themselves as.

If Wike leaves, that’s goodbye to the south for Atiku.

How can Atiku ignore Wike

Duke

Makinde

Mimiko

Fayose

Ikpeazu

Ugwuanyi

Ortom

Who will now work for him in the south? And it’s not like he’s popular in the streets of the south.

Atiku’s ambition is dead.

It is time for the PDP to cut off ties with Wike for him to move on to where he feels his interests will be feathered and stop all these his childish tantrum.

However, Atiku Abubakar forceful acquisition of the presidential ticket of the PDP is a clear negation of the southern presidency project in the PDP.

Is this not Bwala who just decamped from APC? Would PDP be existing today if everybody joined APC like him?

History knows Wike is one of the reasons PdP is alive today. The party would have died after 2015 if not for Wike and co. Why do you think he has supporters? They kept the party alive, now the idiots who ran to APC in 2014 are back to hijack the party just because there’s election around the corner.

The people bashing Wike today are those nPDP folks that betrayed the party in 2014 and people with no electoral value like Reno who are hungry and looking for a way to get close to the corridors of power. Folks that have been on ground are either with Wike or neutral (calling for peace for the sake of the party). But there can’t be peace when there is no justice.

No matter how much Wike may try to dress his wailing, facts remain he's a pained side chick.
Atiku beat him twice, first in his own home and both times with chairmen he foisted on the party.
He can dress his pains as Southern interest or whatever, what is clear when he's alone inside his bedroom is that, he's a side chick not the main chick after seven years of giving PDP different styles

Any Southern plan that is not narrowed to South-East is nonsense and selfishness. Those Wike and Tinubu shout of South without pushing for South-East can only deceive fools.

Wike that single handedly picked his successor Fubara without input from his party men with the likes of great party men like Okpara, Obuah, Send. Sekibo, Omehia stranded.

Wike presently have both his guber candidate and party chairman from the same senatorial seat.

After Ameachi an IKWERE man ruled for 8years, there was clamour for the next governor to shift to waterside; but Wike an IKWERE man presented himself and now completing 8yrs. Making 16yrs of IKWERE rule.
