Kog45: Aloy Agu himself did not inspire any confidence back then in the Super eagles. He was pathetic at Algiers '90 and Senegal '92. It was his poor showing that made Westerhoff to bring back Wildred Agbonivbare before eventually settling for Rufai. So what positive impact do you expect from such a goalkeeper trainner. You need to see the goal Aloy Agu conceeded against Cameroun in the third place match of Senegal 92. |

Kog45: You are spot on. The good keepers Nigeria had in the past were from the NPFL. Why is it difficult for these goalkeeper trainners to pick from the league? 2 Likes |

TheSuperNerd: Meanwhile... on this, I hope the story won't change or more spoilers won't come out months or years from now saying Ndidi actually did what Sulaiman Folarin said in his report coz the man has just refused to delete it despite Ndidi coming out to debunk it. Hmmmm.... Hmmm.... and Hmmmm.... If it isn't true, then it is disgusting what Folarin did but again... I stand by the fact that I personally, am yet to neither confirm nor deny this story. Hmmmm.... Let us hope na here e go end coz we have bigger issues now in the National team and one of them is the form decline of Ndidi himself alongside the GK issue and continued Deliberate Depletion of personnel in the midfield. Bigger problems dey abeg especially that GK issue. This is why I was against the Calls of Okoye and Uzoho alongside any other benchwarmer. Ignore them to set a standard! Call up active GKs from the local scene alongside Adeleye and build from there. Peseiro and the NFF sef. 3 Likes 1 Share

fabyom:like you said, It can only work with 3 at the back formation with one of the defenders (Ndidi) stepping into midfield Or in a Midfield 3. But currently in the 442 JP is using, it can never work against a top team. Being defensive is not just about marking sir. Both are somewhat DLPs, they need a DM beside them to function properly. 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd: The thing though is that Ndidi never really denied the allegation, at best he only reacted. Suleiman also probably trusts his sources and that's why he probably didn't delete it. Would be weird to see Ndidi in Leicester's next line up 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd:Seen a couple of Adeleye’s games and I must say he doesn’t really inspire confidence plus seeing him drop a cross now, I’m not very convinced. If them tell me a time will come when we’ll have 3 GOALKEEPERS that will make 98 Rufai look like prime OliverKhan I go argue am |

Yeah I agree from the highlights we looked dominant. Some players were in scoring positions but decided to pass from the little I saw. Okoye should be excused from the team for now. Guy needs to improve seriously. Let's see what Tuesday brings. Danielnino00: |

Yes, Moses Simon did save Adeleye's blushes yesterday but aside that, it was an okay debut for Adebayo Adeleye. Did you watch the last game of Adeleye vs Israeli Champs competing in the ongoing UCL group stage, Maccabi Haifa? He was pretty outstanding in that game. Lad has 3 consecutive cleansheets for his club in the Liga't Ha'al this 22/23 season out of 4 games he's played so far and they lost their last game in the Israel Premier league Cup 2 days ago without Adeleye and against a side that Adeleye had kept a cleansheet against in the league (they won that game even). His backup Yonathan Shabi is decent but would be wondering wetin happen. Point is yesterday was Adeleye's first game for us so that one moment of dropping the ball shouldn't bring us to conclusions on the lad just yet. As one who is more active than the other two goalies, it is still okay to go with him and any other active local scene GK. Okoye and Uzoho are currently out of sorts. jihday: 2 Likes 1 Share |

After Okoye's Second Consecutive Blunder in Two GWG games... Two reactions that caught the eye. - Frank Onyeka: Just bent down and was like... "De Ja Vu, this Boy AGAIN??!!" - Ebube Duru: Arms akimbo on his waist and was perhaps like... "If Foreign pro fit do this one, wetin go be my hope as local man? See as him wan spoil my Main team debut. So him still dey suffer Post-Afcon PTSD... Nna Life no balance ooo" 5 Likes 1 Share

Liverpool icon John Barnes has insisted that Ethan Nwaneri is not in the same bracket as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo when they broke into the Barcelona and Sporting Lisbon first team respectively. The England U17 international of Nigerian descent made history last Sunday when he came on as a late substitute against Brentford. Aged 15 years and 181 days, Nwaneri became the youngest player to feature for Arsenal's first team in a competitive fixture and became the first 15-year-old to play in the English Premier League, breaking the record previously held by Harvey Elliot who was 16 years and 30 days old when he played for Fulham in May 2019. In what has been deemed as a political decision by the Gunners hierarchy, manager Mikel Arteta handed a first team debut to Nwaneri amid speculation surrounding his future, with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool among the clubs keeping tabs on his situation with a view to a possible move next year. Barnes, who himself was an exciting young player back in the day, reckons that Nwaneri will not play on a regular basis for Arsenal's first team like Messi and Ronaldo when they started. In quotes relayed by Metro UK, Barnes said : "If you look at the future, the future looks bright for Arsenal in terms of a lot of the young players. "Saka, you know, Martinelli, Odegaard. They’ve got a good, young team. But a 15-year-old being given his debut? "You should leave him alone because of course, Theo Walcott made his debut at 16 and this young boy coming in is not going to be anywhere near Arsenal’s first team to be honest with you, when push comes to shove. "It’s great for Arsenal to say we’ve got good young players coming through. "But all of a sudden, I don’t want people to then put so much pressure on this young boy because he made his debut to say he should be playing all the time. "It’s great for him and great for Arsenal for the future. "I’m not saying it’s a gimmick because he’s good enough to obviously be playing but I don’t think it’s a situation whereby you’re looking at a Lionel Messi at 16 or Cristiano Ronaldo knowing that he’s going to go in the team and play every week. "So it’s good news at Arsenal pushing their youngsters through but I don’t want to put pressure on this young boy and all of a sudden overemphasise that he should be playing this season or even next season." Nwaneri is currently on England U17 duty and helped the Young Lions thrash Czech Republic 3-0 in their opening game of the Syrenka Cup on Friday. |

Danielnino00:I disagree with the bolded. In that age when football was all about dribbles and flair, I'd have agreed with you but in this age of tactics and strategy, Europeans are the undisputed champions of world football. Since 1998 (with the exception of 2002 WC) Europeans have passed on the WC among themselves like say na Akara |

The buildup to the iwobi goal, i was pissed. We had 5bofies in their box and they can't even work together to do something tangible with the ball. See that one that wanted to shoot from a tight and blind angle as his teammates were better positioned. Rebound falls to Iwobi and he buries it like Oliseh. Yeah, we can give the excuse of the quality of the friendly. But aren't they supposed to even take better advantage of them? They will use excuse to finish Okoye career very soon. Every lil thing, he's young and he'll learn. Isokay. Is Ethan related to Obinna Nwaneri? 1 Like |
