Nigeria already has good leaders I dont know why you keep praying for "good leaders". Sanwo Olu is a good leader and Soludo is a good leader and Emmanuel Udom too is a good leader. In the Senate there are a bunch of good leaders.... there are good LGA chairpersons.... even Buhari has areas he has excelled in though he has failed woefully in securing the country and also in the education sector and overall has poor ratings by nigerians....

The most important "good leaders" Nigerians can ever have is the Nigerian people themselves - do you drive one way or do you report those that do? Do you support corruption by offering bribes? Do you strengthen the institutions in your locality thru capacity building training and donations or do you just complain?

alternatives should be provided you don’t just take off their source of livelihood and expect them to back off
They’re human beings they have families to feed aswell…

Your notion of who died of hunger is a very stupid thing to say

In retrospect, that was a harsh thing to say. My mistake!

I do agree with you that alternatives should be provided first before these.

Our leaders have never known the true modalities of leadership!

How does use of motorcycle as means of transporting people help people to survive harsh economy? I don't see it. Using motorcycle to transport people risks loss of lives, studies have shown. That is why I am supporting Lagos state government policy on getting rid of motor cycle off all roads in Nigeria. I hope all states in Nigeria should follow Lagos example and ban Okada business, ASAP. Research has shown that motor owners are thieves. I would further recommend that no licesense should be issued for anybody to buy motorcycle in Nigeria. Owners and their patrons constitute nuisance to Nigeria image. Ban all Okada business, period!

Why arrest the passengers? When a bus is not registered and driver is not licensed... do they arrest the passengers? Arrest the rider... and confiscate ate the bike. Not even sure if the law allows them to confiscate the bikes.

The government should have a wrecking centre where these bikes are disassembled and the useful parts like engine and gearbox removed and rebuilt into more useful industrial equipment such as rotor tillers for agriculture or rock core drillers for engineering or even rice milling machines.... angry

Nothing should be wasted. A lot of forex has gone into importing them.

The Lagos State Taskforce said it has impounded 150 commercial motorcycles, whose riders violated the ban on their activities in Lagos metropolis.

It also said 10 suspects including okada passengers and motorists who flouted the Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) corridor were equally arrested and charged to court.

The agency revealed this in a statement released yesterday by the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gbadeyan Abdulraheem.

Abdulraheem said the chairman of the taskforce, CSP Shola Jejeloye, has vowed to go after recalcitrant land grabbers, commercial motorcyclists and other environmental law breakers who have refused to heed warnings by the government to discontinue their illegal activities.

He said Jejeloye expressed displeasure at the regrouping of commercial motorcycles which were noticed in raided areas, adding that the enforcement would continue as the need arises.

Good job!! These okada riders need to be made aware that unlike previous times where after a few weeks they come back to the road, that this time they are not welcome back at all!! We really need discipline in this country! We cant move forward when citizens just operate anyhow!

I took my first train ride ever in Nigeria from Lagos to Ibadan a few days ago, omo while the station and train are fine, you need to come and see how people have taken over some of the tracks in the Agege, Agbado train stations. Filth everywhere, shanties along the train tracks, trading on the tracks etc

If you send them packing now, you will here govt should provide a place for them. HOW IS TRAIN TRACKS A MARKET PLACE!!??

We have many problems in this country and basic indiscipline in one of them!!!

Why must it be always Lagos??

It's already sustaining over 20 million people, it should still cater for thousands of law breaking Okada riders, when some are from failed states and Niger republic.

Why can't other States take up the responsibility Instead if you feel so painned for them.
