Whaaaat? Old soldiers? That's mutiny, mutiny of the highest order! Get them arrested. Have they quickly forget their military bearing and commitment?

LOL, allowances, I thought as much. Whenever the government put allowances in your salary structure, just have it in mind that they won't pay.

LOL, only ASUU people would go on several months strike because of things like this. Mumu people that want to be earning this salaries in dollars, like their colleagues in US, the Government is paying you your salary, why can't you just continue teaching, and hope Nigeria develop as a whole, or is university/tertiary institutions or education sector the only sector in the country, or you feel other sectors are massively developed and paid well. We all should be patient and hope for a better Nigeria, instead of drawing is back with mumuness. If anyone should be on strike right now, it should be the nurses.
the moment people like u think they can post rubbish like this and feel like they are making sense is the moment u know the country is doomed.

Sorry to say so but he has a point, a bitter pill to swallow if you know how democracy works for good governance and the role of citizen advocacy in regulating the quality of life of all citizens.

When a government is conditioned not to respond to criticism and advocacy its impunity grows to affect all the vulnerable in society including ex-military and their families.

Whether we like it or not Nigeria is a country built for government and its pleasure. Once you are not in government you count for little. We should change this narrative so that patriotism is redefined as fealty to Nigeria not to government or any single individual, but to all, treated equally with respect and dignity.

So when the police, military or other agents of the state go out to effect the pleasures of the government they should be wary about conditioning those officials to becoming intolerant and insensitive. For what goes round can come around.

If life could be this hard for retired officers, I can only imagine the fate or what's ahead for a struggling person like me who hasn't worked anywhere near government office, never enjoyed government dividends and just living living an unfulfilled life. I'm very worried for myself, the stagnancy and getting depressed by the day. I don't know what the future holds and each day comes with fear and uncertainty.

I wish someone can talk to me and make me see reasons to give life one more chance and grow. This awful feeling right now is making my heart bleed and hurt.

All the uniformed men being used to disperse our protest now. This kind of future awaits you. You will protest when you are old and frail, your widow will protest after you are dead for things like this.
