Please does a visit visa come in an enclosed envelope together with an instruction on an A4 sheet outlining one’s permission to stay in the UK just like the student visa, as my mum just picked up her travel document with just the visa vignettes alone and this is her first time. Please I need clarification |

Hello house, I’m a silent reader here, but I have a feeling that I have goofed with my visa application after reading all the informations provided here. I would commend Giselle and co, you guys are doing well. I would also agree with the guy who said that if you get one message from TLS after biometrics and Two Messages from UKVI, that it means your application would be approved, because I remember when I applied for UK visa in 2016, when I went for pickup, a lady there was saying that if you have a reference tag attached to your envelope, it means your application was approved, but if you don’t , then the reverse is the case. Unfortunately, I didn’t see the reference stuff on my envelope and when I opened it, I saw a refusal note. So the guy might be right. Now for my goofing, I didn’t know flight tickets are not compulsory, but I already booked Virgin Atlantic return tickets for 21st October. Now I just cancelled it. I think that has already affected the application. Now I put in property docs, bank statements (both dom and naira), sponsorship details (as my friend from America is meeting me up in the us and is covering all cost), utility bills, refusal note, cover letter, hotel reservation, flight tickets. Didn’t include my son’s birth certificate. I know I screwed it up, but I only found this page after I have done my bio. Quite sad.. I didn’t receive the two messages from UKVI, only one. So I just know I have goofed again |

Mrmoney90:Whilst it is not compulsory to book or buy a ticket, doing so would not cause you a refusal. Your personal circumstances may have done so though. Especially as you note that a friend in the US was sponsoring the trip. I thought phones or taking pics in there isn't allowed? |

It is a generic response to your query. Wait for your passport, you may have been issued 10years or less(5/2yrs or 6months) and may have been refused... In rare cases are 3month visas issued for standard visitor visas. |

leef2022:But all the same, good thing I cancelled that ticket, it was so expensive and I lost 25% of it to cancellation. I’m not angry, but I’m glad I found this page. Kudos to you too leef. There are loads of other guys here who furnish helpful tips, sorry I couldn’t your names as I can’t even remember them, but I take note and follow closely |

leef2022:I wouldn’t get penalized for doing that, but noted and removed accordingly. I like photos regardless of where I am, it’s nothing to me, unless I am personally told not to do so. Again Goodluck to all who got their visas. I haven’t received a refusal note yet, so I’m just waiting patiently to see as I didn’t get double emails from UKVI |

Mrmoney90:If you haven't picked up your passport yet, then no reasons to write-off your application. Their emails dey hang sometimes.... |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Mrmoney90: 3:30pm On Sep 29, 2022 |
leef2022:True though, and thank you for your kind words. I just might be surprised to find a visa in my passport as I keep refreshing both inbox and spam box with no refusal email in there every minute. These people are humans and are bound to make mistakes, so fortunately for me, they might just give me a visa. If e like, make e be by mistake, I no care. As long as I don use am go UK come back, that one na their cup of tea. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if that happens because from what I’ve seen here, even some people get refused for reasons that has nothing to do with their application, in the form of wrong refusal. So if them give me wrong approval, glory be to God, as I will still come here to drop testimony. I believe this visa thing is just by luck and according to your destiny sha. My last application in 2016 didn’t even take up to 3 working days after biometrics for me to get a decision email, despite the 15 working days timeline. So I’m just trying to be a bit optimistic as they are taking long to make a decision this time, even though the delay is not a guarantee to approval |

The 3months stated refers to your passport not the visa. You must have a minimum of 3months validity on your passport for a visa to be issued. drladun: |

We aim to process non settlement applications within 15 working days (unless you have opted for the Priority Visa service), and settlement applications within 120 working days. Unfortunately, the processing of your application has not been straightforward and we will be unable to decide your application within our customer service targets. We are continuing to work on your application and aim to make a decision as soon as possible. We will write to you again if there is any change to this.
