Hello guys, please I’d like to know what it really means to verify ones NIN, I was at the immigration office the other day to open my file before my capturing date and the lady I met at the servicom office asked if I had verified my NIN, I said yes without thinking twice cause I thought it was another means to extort me she was cooking up. Right now I’m a little confused and really just want to know if it won’t later affect me on my capturing date. I’d really appreciate an answer please ??

I am DIY applicant. I applied for passport February 24, 2022. Upon getting to servicom room, I was told that my NIN didn't match. So, I couldn't proceed to capturing. I summoned courage and told myself that I wouldn't give up. I began making enquiry on how to do change of DOB on my NIN. However, I got to know that I needed to pay 15k to remitta and do modification. After I was done with that. I sent my application forward to NIMC Akure. I waited for few weeks hoping that my NIN would drop, but no show. I got frustrated with the whole thing until one of NIN staff told me that if I really wanted the NIN to drop, I needed to do Fast track. Well, what would I do? I was able to cough out 20k for NIN fast track. Within 3weeks, my NIN dropped.
I went straight to NIS Akure to proceed to my application. Within few days I reschedule my appointment date and I was captured July 29, 2022.
To God be the glory. I collected my passport today. I got to immigration office in Akure around 9:11am and I collected my passport around 11:03am

Hello house DIYers

We have an appointment for a minor at Abeokuta and we spoke to someone who works there.
He said we would be sent back on the day of the appointment because we are supposed to certify/verify our documents before the appointment day.
The immigration website does not indicate this at all, nor does it request any uploads.

Please anyone with any information about the practices at the Abeokuta office, kindly share.

We, the people must be ready to make Nigeria work. Let everyone stand their ground, do things the right way and stop bribing people who are paid to do their work.

No harm I'm visiting for documentation before appointment date(so as to have things in other) appointment day would be hitch free if documentation is done before (they adopted this method because of those with incomplete documents or mismatched informations, so that it could be corrected before capturing date, it ease the work load on their side and saves time on your path).

@bolded is not a professional response from the official though.

I hope you understand my words, ABK is always trying to fustrate DIY

When I captured at Ikoyi since July 20th, I even fast tracked oh but up till now, I no see Obi and I no still see shoes wey Obi used for Army.

Right now, I'm thinking of applying for my passport and I'm hoping this issue won't affect things later (maybe for eg, my passport processing). Hence, I wish to know if/how it can be resolved.

There are two places for my NIN.

1) The picture on the black and white physical paper is mine.

2) But on the app (the one they told Nigerians to download last year), the picture there is wrong.

However, I will still go to the office since this passport stuff is online and thus might end up exposing the one on the app.

Go there the following day. I had the same problem. Yesterday was supposed to be my capturing day. So, I am currently at Oshogbo command do the capturing.

be patient oo,you won't like double stress on you, it is them that can capture without fingerprint, but you can still try all these cyber that do NIN,it will come out immediately.

finally done with the capturing. I arrived there by 12 noon thinking the crowd may have lessen by that time but it wasn't so because there were backlogs because of public holiday on Monday. So the once they didn't finish on Tuesday was carried over to today in other to finish people for capturing for Monday and Tuesday so before they started attending to those for today was a bit late.

The buttom line is I was captured around 5pm today and told to come back in 3 weeks time for my passport.

My capturing is in first week of next month at Ikoyi. I can see some people here talking about going a month before capturing date to open file.

Wait do you mean July or June? Because I was there last week and I was asked to check back in 2-3 weeks. It'd be amazing if it was ready already

Picture mismatch is a major red flag starring at you
It will definitely affect your passport processing
Visit the NIMC office in your state or local government to sort it out for your own good

If your NIN isn't verified, e go affect your passport application
How was it generated? Via BVN or NIMC?
If na BVN generated, visit the NIMC office in your state to validate
If its by NIMC, you should be good but confirming from NIMC won't do you any harm
