Good morning, all inputs are highly welcomed. I noticed recently my car struggles to climb hills and it makes this kakaka sound while attempting to, also the movements of the car in general is slow. I drive a civic 06

Hello all,
I am about buying a naija used Honda civic 2009 from a dealer. I am skeptical about Honda cars due to the negative reviews from my friends and colleagues, even though they have not owned a Honda car before, lol. This will actually be my first car. So, I will need advice if getting this ride will be a good choice. I don't want to buy what I will regret tomorrow. Please kindly give me your honest review on this. Thank you.
It will serve you well if you get a good one

Sirs, i have a honda 08 2.4l that is really consuming too much fuel. It has one error code which is the P0420.

We've done the usual servicing the injectors & air intake system.

I don't want to start throwing parts at this problem i need proper advice and would also appreciate if i can be linked up with a good mechanic in Lagos

That code is for your secondary heated oxygen sensor. The one under your car near your catalyst. It’s due for a change

Thanks. Do i have to do any more scanning or just go straight to changing both sensors?

If that’s the only code you got then go ahead to change just the one sensor under your vehicle near the catalyst, drive for a few kilometers/miles and check if the malfunction light comes on again. If it does, then you’d need another scan.

Hello sir, good day.
I drive a Honda accord 2007
There is this sound the car makes immediately the gear is engaged to either reverse or drive. It makes this "ke" sound immediately after it engages before I remove my leg from the break, Please, what could it be.

When you switch it from P to R or D, After it makes the ‘ke’ sound, does it keep making the same sound as you drive? When it makes the ‘ke’ sound does the vehicle shudder or jerk?

No, it doesn't
It's just after it engages.
It doesn't shudder nor jerk too

If you’ve not changed your transmission fluid in a while I believe it’s that time. You should buy 4 litres of Honda genuine ATF-DW1and do a drain and refill of your transmission fluid and your issue will be gone.

Do it quickly before it starts affecting your solenoids and lead to greater problems.

Good morning bosses, just got an accord 08, first car tho. Everything seems fine but I noticed when I put on the AC there’s this extra sound I hear, my car plug said it’s the steering pump. Please is there any correlation?

You can’t just say you hear an extra sound and stop there. How do you want us to understand how this sound is or where it might be coming from

Your extra sounds could be any one of

kpa

Kru

Wiwiwi

Wowowo

Wham

Pow

Kum

Boom

Hummmm

Woooooo

Shhhhhhh

Yayayayaya

Etc etc

undecided

There are many places that a sound can emanate from when the ac compressor is engaged in a vehicle

My 2008 Acura MDX engine starts when I press and hold the lock button for 3 seconds. Then it has another remote/fob that performs the same function (starts and off the engine) when I press and hold the number 2 button; the button above the unlock button (picture attached). Can I engage the transmission and drive the box this way? I haven't tried it , just curious.

It’s called a remote start feature that is usually installed in vehicles to be used in very cold climates. It’s for starting and warming up the engine and interior of the car before the owner leaves the house and climbs into it to drive away.

You can’t drive the vehicle with the remote.

the car was drinking fuel, so took for scanning and got the below error code
p0135
p0138

i know the first two relate to the 02 sensor, does it mean i should change it or its the wiring?
the p1381 ....i dont know if its the alternator that need changing or fixing or the distributor

There are 2 tensioners in the civic engine, there’s the serpentine belt tensioner and the timing chain tensioner.

If it’s the serpentine belt tensioner that is always giving you issues then get a good replacement with the right size of bolts and let the mechanic installing it torque the bolts using the correct specifications

Too tight or too loose and your issues will continue.

P1381 can either be caused by your distributor or the cylinder position sensor that’s connected along with it. Check the two carefully for which isn’t functioning properly and change.

Please I need expert advice on the issue I'm facing currently
It's a 2008 Accord EX-L V6
I'm experiencing misfire, petrol appears to be discharging directly on the cylinders (you can smell petrol strongly in the cabin and exhaust, smokes)...this is causing hard start until the petrol burns off completely and the engine revs itself to about 2000rpm even when it's idling....also, there's loss of power sometimes and the check engine light blinks
If the car is allowed to test for a while, when you start the engine, it appears ok but a minute later, the engine just starts to rev itself and then immediately you start smelling petrol all over
Fuel consumption is insane
Plugs, ignition coils, injector noozles have all been changed but the problem remains....even ignition timing has been checked. Scan results always show misfire related codes only.

Sign of a leaking intake valve. This results to an Incomplete combustion. A relative compression test should reveal what’s going on. Get a professional not quacks

In addition check also for a leaking exhaust valve. Run some diagnosis first cos it’s gonna be a real bumpy ride
