Did you watch the video, if anyone (Tinubu, Atiku, Buhari) give this kind of explanation will you accept it, what is in contention is not if he should throwaway his assert, but that he didn't declare it, he operated a foreign account while he was a governor.

Think about this, if Peter Obi becomes president (Best case scenario), most of those in APC, PDP they move freely into LP and in the next 6 month of his presidency, they are occupying the varrious position, you can say Peter Obi won't allow them, but he will (he can't stop them by law anyways), the moment he is President, he will need all the help he can get, those that won the Senate, house of Reps from all the other political partys, he will want to control each house so it will be flexible for him, he will woo them with position and eventually we are back to where we were.
