If they are fighting for a huge salary in this bastardised Nigerian economy, they deserve it.

That is why other professionals, like medical and tech, are leaving the country enmass to favourable climes.

The country has been turned to a leaving hell by your Buhari government.
Anybody who's not in support of keeping students at home for 8 months is automatically a Buhari supporter cheesy

You are not up to date.
2015, $10 was still 2k naira.
So if bad governance is enough for Nigerians to look the other way, Buhari has done more than enough even before his re-election.

Many of us are against this government on a normal day, but as far as this ASUU strike is concerned we are on same page with fg.
They should torture ASUU till ASUU become sensible that you can't approach a problem with another problem.

let me tell u whether u like it or not buhari have damaged and is damaging tinubus chances, and many orthers will not vote completely or will not vote for APC bcs of Buhari

This is stale now. So the “principled” lecturers don’t have any other way to press their demands except strikes?

“Great dreams for young ones under their care” but they have allowed the so called young ones to be at home for 8months and counting and 9 months back in 2020?

What will students gain from their salary increment and utas?

Cmon! Nigerians are wiser now.

Go to their individual homes and drive them back then.

At least you would have achieved what your clueless government is unable to do.

Mr. Superman.

The students, including my daughter at OAU, are not complaining. They understand that the fight is a just one, and that it is for them.

So they stand gidigba behind their lecturers, who are not lilly livered like some people here. Who preach what they cannot take from anyone else.
I guess your daughter is the nans president that's representing the general students in opinion. So if she's not complaining, then so are others.
I hope she's smarter than to believe in doing same thing over and over again(strike) and expecting a different outcome.

Ask her about some history in oau, how lecturers used to seal off students union buildings to silence students unionism.
How they victimize students by dishing out suspension and rustications at will, how the likes of prof y.k Yusuf derives joy in physically assaulting students.

Lastly, i hope she's safe from the Pedophiles there, and the numerous sex for grade lecturers like Richard Akindele

But they will lose their 8 months salaries and more as long as they remain at home.
It's immoral to stay off work for 8 months and cry about empty stomach.

You can try it, abandon your source of income for 8 months and tell us the outcome

Don't tell me about my beloved OAU, I am an alumni of the school. And in all society there are always the miscreants who take advantage of the weak.

OAU is for the serious students, if you can't take the heat move out. The serious ones are not complaining.

And you think forcing them back to school without granting their request will serve the national interest ? Let us watch and see na !
if only I was Buhari I would've made sure by now those overzealous striking lecturers including yourself are already sacked with their benefits and pensions stripped off from them.

Let us watch and see. To work for the government is not by force. If you don't want to work again because you feel your requests are not granted, resign and go look for work where all your demands and requests will be granted, or rather continue with the stûpid strong-headedness so you can be sacked and replaced ASAP! Lookat a self acclaimed lecturer threatening not to do his work diligently like he's being forced to work. Our universities must open right now with or without any striking lecturers. Resume or resign and gtf out of system. No union should be allowed to hold the education sector to ransom. Nonsense!

That means people like us who have never supported any government are better off in terms of impartial judgment. That's why I'm on the students side.

You supported APC and didn't get the reward you expected, hence you want everything to go against them. That's where we are different.

Resume for one week, file appeal and then back to strike.

This is exactly my thought too, but I am thinking what the outcome could be, lawyers in the house could help explain the consiquenses of ASUU resuming and working for one week, then resume the strike again.

Any help on this?

The Union is fighting for the betterment of the students ( infrastructure, equipment and funds for research ).

the monies FG have given ASUU in the last decades, tell us what have they done with it? What research have they successfully made a breakthrough in? Nothing! At least you see professors making breakthrough with inventions abroad but our own researchers discovered nothing of worth in over 40 years now. So kindly kill that statement of saying they're fighting for the betterment of students. Fighting for students by making them spend more years sitting at home?

Yes I support Jonathan and vote against him when he failed thinking that apc is the solution to all our problems now, but unfortunately Buhari is the most dumbest president ever, every nigerian citizen elect someone with the hope that he makes their life better. and know something I am not against tinubu bcs I can't blame him bcs of Buharis failure, and I don't want him.

Lol
This is a faceless forum, so it's granted you don't know who you are conversing with.
If FG decide to start an internal audit, I'm sure OAU will top the list of the most corrupt institutions.
It's just a normal school, (a decaying one just like most public universities) where the lecturers make life unnecessarily difficult for the students.

Until then.

For now, it is just your own insinuation.

And just for an advice, use this time to learn a technical skill, and stop wasting your time on social media. Other students are doing so, and are not missing the school as much as you are.

It appears you are idle.

Learn tech and earn money.
