The funny thing is even if government adhere to their demands, this same ASUU will look for another excuse to hold innocent students at ransome. See my junior ones that are supposed to graduate this year wasting away because of one useless union.

Aswear make federal government deregister ASUU so that everybody go rest. You didn't work for how many months and you are expecting government to pay you your full salaries and benefits. No be juju be that shocked

What about the students that you wasted their time, na who go compensate them.

is it only time? what of students house rents ?

If they refuse, the Federal Government should enforce the Judgment of the Court by deregistering them grin

The government should not stop at that.

Vice-chancellors must account for hundreds of billions worth of TETFUND grants they have embezzled.

The lecturers must also write apology letters to students and add 20 marks to the score of students because you cannot stay 8 months at home blocking highways and bullying online without forgetting what you were taught in January. It should be a criteria for paying them the 8 months salary they didn't work for.

For more than 40 years, ASUU has shattered the dreams of great Nigerian students.

Below is a picture of ASSU strike being called off in 1981. My mother had just started Primary School in 1981. 41 years later a useless congress of indecent academicians are still frustrating students.

do you have any relative that's a federal or state university lecturer?

Can you suspend a union?
What do you know about civil rights and labour history? This is the first reason why freedom of Association is enshrined in the constitution. As ling as an Association is not criminal, the govt. has zero control over its membership.
Disobeying a direct court order is still a crime.

Let's ask him. So they can discuss how to compensate the students the 8 months they used in "pressing home their demands"

Actually most Nigerians don't bypass their meters, but a very significant minority do...somewhere around 40% don't pay for electricity they use...metered people inclusive.(Industry figures)

That quote is misleading coz that Section is talking about something different.

ASUU can't appeal to Supreme Court bcoz their Appeal is still pending before Court of Appeal. What the court determined today is granting leave for ASUU to appeal but the leave is conditional.

ASUU are political thugs . The strike is already politicized . How can they demand for 1 trillion that’s not realistic. Even if ASUU resumes government should destabilize them so these rubbish won’t persist .
FG is bad but they don’t owe federal workers on like state do .

ASUU is demanding for 1 trillion because they know that if they don't get extra funding for universities...not just their salaries....the universities may be forced to increase fees to properly fund themselves.

Also, the 1 trillion is a severe underestimate. Universites need far more than that. Facilites, and all that.

How many percentage of the funds that were allocated to the universities in the past were looted?
If those funds were properly utilized, the universities would be better off their present conditions.

The returned abacha loot was said to have shared to the poor, who was the poor, all these, but they cant pay the lecturers who train up future presidents and govnrs and senators, where are we heading to if they are being intimidated into calling of the strike. They will bring ears of students and roast, if u think that they are resuming for good

Where will government get that kind of money ? ASUU is unrealistic after low oil price for years plus pandemic they’re demanding for such .
I’m not exonerating the government for it’s failures too but we most be considerate too one another The ASUU big boys don’t have their kids in Nigeria schooling that’s why they can comfortably strike For 8 months.

Education is very cheap In Nigeria which the Nigerian masses don’t applaud the government for they just criticize how can you be paying 21k for a session and still insult the government with the slightest provocation .

Government needs to enlighten the masses so they can appeal to ASUU to soften their stance because the money is not available and the only way to meet up with that demand is to increase the school fees which will render many student to drop outs .

The court is not the right way to resolve issues like this. This would bring the education system to its knee. I for see a situation where ASUU would call FG and appeal court's bluff.

After disobeying the industrial court, they should disobey appeal court again when they were even the one that dragged FG there.
Exactly what FG want them to do, so they can finish ASUU for good.
It's already unwise after the NIC ruling to appeal that you don't want to go back to work while demanding to be paid for the period of 7 months out of work. But ASUU appealed anyway and still got knocked back by the appeal court

ASUU powers needs to be clipped. Government most make sure they sign agreement of no work no pay this time around. That’s why they can comfortably go on strike for 8 months because they know government will still pay them . If Doctors are striking like ASSU Nigerians will be dying like flies .

If these ASUU senior men have their children In Nigeria schooling they won’t be offing like NEPA . Two months - three months strike is enough to ginger the government. Government must destabilize ASUU this time around their Wahala is too much .
