femicyrus:Exactly. I remember one of our lecturers praying for strike so that she can go and rest. Of course, she knows that at the end of the strike, she will still be paid in FULL, hence her audacity in making such a wish. At the end of all this brouhaha, people will later come to thank Ngige and Adamu and General Buhari of course, for a fight well fought. ![]() |

I'll keep saying it that the only thing that has given ASUU the nerve to go on strike every now and then is because they know they'll still receive their salaries after all their selfish fights with the government is done. Who wouldn't want to rest at home to receive salaries for works not done? Let it be known to any striking body by making it a law that any union embarking on their legitimate strike will forfeit salaries after exceeding 3 months at home. When ASUU and any other overzealous body knows they won't receive salaries, they'd think twice before deciding on wasting student's time again in their mischievous vacation in the name of strike. 2020 9 months strike, 2022 8 months strike now and still counting. What exactly is their problem? They've been receiving salaries for too long and they all thought it's business as usual this time around but and I pray things change for good now by making it a law to stop any striking body's salaries. Shebi Buhari been tell Dem that time earlier this year about the no work no pay but Osedeke was fuming that they're not bothered. Then why is Osedeke and other lecturers in this forum complaining about empty stomach? Who sent them to do busybody with strike? Was FG owing them anything before they decided to go rest at home? The students that have lost 8 months now and have paid for rents in their respective campuses with over 8 months wasted for ASUUs agitations, how does ASUU intend to compensate these students for their loss? Abi they're just going to overlook the students and assume all is well with them? More reason why FG should never pay them fully for the 8 months. Maybe 3 months payment maximum. |

itsRhamzy:God bless you. Even if Buhari will not do any other thing for Nigerian, he should make sure those ASUU people don’t receive any salary for the wasted months. How come you claimed to be fighting for students, when in real sense you’re killing their careers? They’re just using Nigerian students as a shield for personal interest. It’s quite unfortunate those people called NANS are not seeing the right picture. |

valentineuwakwe:I went through d post on here and I discovered that majority of d post doesn't even know or understand what's going on with ASUU and fg. Its a pity that majority of our student doesn't read or care to get into d depth of d situation but, they are just shouting and insulting ASUU cuz of fg blackmails. ASUU is complaining about peculiarity in d university system and payment with Ippis gateway.fg asked Nitda to put Utas into integrity test, they did and scored Utas 90%,non academics payment system came 2nd and Ippis came third. For fg to implement Utas became problem meanwhile Ippis has been Indicted of corruption but fg refused to stop using it.Ippis is being managed by consultancy firm with fg paying 3billion for their service monthly. Majority of us know about d fraud that's is going on with Ippis but why did fg refused to discard it and start using another credible payment gateway for workers?cuz some people are making billions through Ippis. ASUU raised a point that Ippis didn't captured their allowances but fg promised to implement that into Ippis but failed to do that for over 7months and keep asking Assu to resume work. ASUU talk about visiting lecturer and professor to another school and how they could get their allowances if they keys into Ippis fg failed to addressed that. They said they lack d number of lecturer and professor to handle all d courses in every Uni hence needs for visiting lecturer and prof from another uni with allowance being paid for such service which Ippis didn't covered. To those of u insulting ASUU,hope u listened to Ngige on Channels Friday night saying ASUU refused increment of school fees?he said either ASUU like it or not fg would fully deregulate university education. ASUU said on Jay FM that fg want to hands off funding universities and asked d school fees to be increased to 750k which ASUU refused that doing so would not afford d children of d poor to get education. |

mrsage:Our Courts on this matter! , Please, ask him again, for some comes to entertain us on the Nairaland Forum! - What are the ASUU Demands that the money that we used to dramatised Politicians and Politics could have been saved but due to Corruption in every facet of govt circles- including the States . -So, even our Judiciary can dispense justice fast in this matter but meanwhile, over 1,0001- Cases are lying fallow at various Courts - including the National Industrial Courts and Appeal Courts in this same Nigeria! Justice delayed is justice denied- those that have Monetary issues that are tied down in our various Courts- adjournment over adjournment- up to7, 9 years,10- 11 ,above Years are in Courts, yet Labour Leaders have nothing to say, while Inflation is ravaging helpless Nigerians! The Supreme Court and the President of Appeal Court- should ask that ALL-Courts,should forward the lists of Outstanding Cases in order of Dates to them and possibly published it .It will surprised Nigerians! This is the best ways to effectively tamed decades of Cases in our Courts. God de o! |

Treasuredgift:Sometimes it's better to let matters drag so u can settle it permanently. All these kick and start approach won't work. ASUU have always embark on strike every year since I entered the university in 2006. We need to put a stop to this menance. They aren't the only association in Nigeria |

emmanuelpeace1:The educational system is not collapsing. Millions of Nigerians pay squat for tertiary education then turn round to complain about the quality. Many Nigerians are willing to pay over 100k a term for a 6 year old yet think University Education should be free. For a poor country, this would not be possible. In fact, in many wealthy nations, tuition is expensive and many requite student loans to achieve such goals. We can't be deceiving ourselves. |

Treasuredgift:And if only we Had an ASUU that values education, they wouldn't have been soo heartless to shutting down the Universities for eight months and still counting.... Even after the Government offered a 25 and 30% increment on salary for junior and senior lecturers respectively. They lied to us that they are doing this for the benefit of the students, but Bross. If U check am wella, those guys are strongly fighting for their belly alone, using the students as their fighting tools. HABBA NOW THIS THEIR OWN DON DE TOO MUCH |

Bhol28:That will tell you the manner of insensitivity and level of entitlement those idiots called ASUU have. But my happiness this time around is that by the time FG finishes with them, even the ASUU members will not remember the word "strike" again, that is if ASUU will even still be existing by that time. Because the next step in this fight will be to deregister ASUU. You can now see what greed can do to someone? |

Now I see that ASUU has no conscience at all. How can you keep Nigeria youths at home for 8 months over a protracted fight. You win some, you let go some, then fight another day. Abeg pity the youths and go back to the classroom. When Obi comes he will sort things out. He understands the value of education. |

Unfortunately none of my family member, even extended ones is an ASUU member. But I passed through the walls of a University in Nigeria 14 years ago. I can boldly tell you that FG is not sincere when it comes to negotiation. They don't value education. I am certain if ASUU was INEC national assembly, there demands will be meet. haslaw: |
